Crystal was consistently the #1 seller, and despite releasing in 2018 it ended up being the fourth best selling digital title on 3DS, in terms of revenue (NA). Pokemon Yellow was #1. The paired versions don't appear on the list until Red at #7, and then Blue at #12. They know the third versions command the highest prices online, and that trend is true for digital versions too, and they know we're suckers who will double or triple dip again

But it turns out they can just dump the old roms on the shop and save millions of dollars and months of stress. So it's strange to assume we won't see more low-cost quick turnaround releases.
