https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/play-a-limited-time-event-in-pokemon-pokopia-on-nintendo-switch-2

>F.A.Q

>Can I have more than one world in the same console?
Yes, you can have different saves for each profile. It's not like AC

>What about cloud saves?
Yes, unlike every other Pokemon game this one does support cloud saves

>Does it feature a real time clock? Can I change the console's date to progress faster?
Yes, there's no downside to moving forward or backwards

>Is my favorite Pokemon in?
List is still being updated https://www.serebii.net/pokemonpokopia/availablepokemon.shtml

>I didn't like ACNH, will I like this one?
Similarities with ACNH end at the UI, game is a lot faster, with more activities and a proper ~40h long story mode. If you've played DQ Builders 2 you know what you're getting into.

>Combat? Breakable tools?
No combat, no breakable tools. There's a stamina system in place very easy to manage.

>Game doesn't seem worth it, it's overpriced and the switch 2 has no games

Don't be a schizo anon. There's no way a company as big or omnipresent as Atari/Commodore/Sierra/THQ/GameSpy would ever go out of business. Now let's play some Pokemon Battle Revolution through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, or we could trade Pokemon, though I'll need to transfer them through Pokemon Bank first.

Heh, decided to renew my bank subscription after 10 years to finally port all my pokemon to Home.
I had bought it when I first got my second hand copy of pokemon Y, I never liked wiping save files on used games but I wanted to start fresh, so I transfered all the previous owners pokemon to bank before starting a new game.

I was able to redownload bank to the 3ds and transfer all my guys to Home,

Still have all of his pokemon too, Kinda nostalgic, I miss cartridge saves, like friends I never met.

So how do houses work? Does giving a pokemon a house override its native habitat or does it have both a house and a habitat?

Even if true, there are various other scenarios that could fuck people over in cases like these, like splinternet scenarios (look how suddenly Russians got blocked everywhere), mismanagement (Microsoft shut down GFWL entirely; Nintendo is cool now, but being a publicly traded company you can never know), worsening of ISP services (there are first-world countries where all ISPs in certain regions have data caps for home connections), etc.

I'm not the guy who originally complained (in fact all my games are digital, because fuck switching cartridges for the >100 games I have), but I'm very skeptical that things we take for granted now will remain as-is for the rest of our lives. One day we'll have to pirate Pokopia because there will be no legal or practical way to get it anymore.

I don't see any issue with this. Past a certain point of time I don't see any merit in buying something from a company anyhow, people doing something like buying FRLG for 20 bucks "because the physical copy is so expensive" are sheep. I have far more faith in game preservationists and emulation than I ever have or ever will have in any corporation. People are still playing MKW and Splatoon 1 online, servers going "down" is such a non issue.

A very very long time, the Tangela had time to evolve and grow old, and talks frequently about how much time it's been since he's seen a human, not to mention the game is already set some time in the "future" already, so all the humans who previously inhabited the earth are either very old if not outright dead.

Obviously there's no concrete number but I'd personally estimate it anywhere between 30 to 50 years if not longer.

Is literally everyone just speedmashing through the game without reading a single textbox?
when Peakychu asks you for Pichu she:
1) says pichu isn't anywhere close and she wishes to meet again
2) a blue textbox appears going "Mmh, I wonder if pichu could be ELSEWHERE...."
3) The Habdex opens to a hab that specifies "wastelands" for the pichu spawn
and yet the most common "wtf game??" post in here is "guise where is pichu I've been waiting for days!!!"

how
you niggas retarded
>>
I think about Pokopia every day and I see it wherever I go but I still haven’t bought it. I don’t know what I’m waiting for or what I’m expecting to be the final thing that gets me to purchase it.
>>
>>59045385
Jumpfluff is very rare.
Hoppip already joined, and might be not available until event end.
For skipbloom it faster to do the picnic habitat one.
>>
>>59045458
>3) The Habdex opens to a hab that specifies "wastelands" for the pichu spawn
This part is the problem, because that's not what happens. The habdex preview you get when you get a quest for a certain Pokemon doesn't let you select the Pokemon for that habitat (not even the silhouettes). As a result, you can't see the area requirement, rarity, weather conditions or time of day unless you close the window, then manually go to the habdex and look up that exact same habitat. Except, if you haven't discovered the habitat, it's not even listed in there, and you instead need to go to the Pokedex entry to look at the habitat preview there. It's very clunky.
>>
Is there a glass floor/roof item? All I see are the normal windows and the sloped skylights

Because Pichu not having spawned yet is a perfectly valid explanation for those remarks? All other stored Pokemon are also treated as 'not here' and 'not seen in a while' in dialogue, repeatedly.

>OR when you actually make it (which allows looking at the silhouettes)
Why would you check the silhouettes if you already know which Pokemon you're summoning and think you're done placing their habitat? Yes, it's easy to check if you know there's a catch, but people don't notice there's a catch because you never run into the area requirement until that point.
>>
>if you're on the 2nd page of a chest and there's an item in the 1st page that you also have in your bag, if you put it in the chest it'll just make a separate pile of the item instead

Someone explain the collectors box to me like I’m retarded. I have set one in every town and have quite literally never gotten any item out of it and have to pick up things manually from Pokémon who cut or smelt or litter or recycle
>>
How do you even figure out the event habitats yourself?
>>
>>59045545
Put them in scythers habitat and fill them with logs. He'll automatically pull from it and start chopping.

Apparently you can make pokemon gather up litter drops and put them on the box but I have no clue how.

Either way key point is to put it on a relevant habitat

I think the biggest flaw of the game is the inventory management. 20 hours is really on the low side, like main story and just a little bit of extra stuff. I'd say most people will get 30-40+ hours easily. But "game length = game value" is a pretty dumb thing to think anyway. The point is the game is fucking FUN. Even 20 hours of fucking FUN is worth full price, worth more than most modern games out there, that's for sure.
>>
>>59045795
I wasn't a Minecraft kiddie so excuse me for having expectations that more than 4 towns of Kanto would be visited. I'm such a bastard for being upset that 3 gates in 3 different areas lead to the same zone!
>>

>>
20 hours for story? I am only in 2nd area and have like 15 hours, I'm not autistically building shit either just going at a relaxed pace, I also don't time travel. time traveling and rushing the game is for trannies
>>
>>59045832
There's 4 areas and the last 2 are short as fuck.
>>
>>59045651
It's a good game but so overblown. I saw a viral tweet about how the game is huge while the clip was them looking out at areas that are out of bounds. The actual maps are pretty small. Also the chain of females and trannies saying they caved and bought a switch 2 for it was kinda cringe

lol so that IS you, from like multiple threads ago. I'm glad to see you got so much enjoyment out of the game, I'm enjoying it too.

That's kind of a weird small thing to get so upset over though. I mean I can understand where you're coming from but still. I'm quite happy with the size of the game and the amount of fun things to do, personally. Could it be more? Could it be even better? Yeah, sure, but it's more than plenty as is.

And we're only talking about the average playstyle here... But there is a certain subset of players that will happily pour dozens of hours in and build all kinds of crazy shit that we'll see later on youtube compilations. Similar to AC, or the building stuff from TotK.
>>
>>59045832
I'm probably at around 20 hours and I'm also only in the 2nd area. But I also feel like I definitely did not do everything I could in the first area, same with the second area... so there is lots and lots more to do. I've already gone back to the first area for the Hoppip event and while I was there I got sucked into doing random habitat and comfort level stuff again. I can see myself eventually filling out the dex and everything, which surprises me that I actually want to do that, since I haven't done that since like Gen1/2

Save them, they have steep resource costs and all require 15 mons with multiple specialties to actually start construction.
Their main purpose is spawning in the Legendary Birds once constructed, who can then be befriended and made to move in to wherever you want them, providing a fuckhuge boost to environment level since they're legendaries.
>>
>>59046115

Some pokemon have a collector trait (haunter, duskull, dreepy have them, pretty sure most of ghost types have the trait), if there's a collector box nearly they put resources on it. If they put resources that can be processed and there's a pokemon with the right trait near the box it will process them. Example haxorus both drops wood and cuts it, so putting a collector box and mon set is a good idea. Trapinch drops clay so getting another box and a fire mon would work as well.

Most artists don't actually seriously play these games and just follow trends on twitter.
Bulbasaur is popular because you meet it so early in the game that everyone has seen it, and ara ara venusaur gets posted by someone playing more seriously and gets art through association with bulbasaur.

In DQB you made certain buildings based on the furniture you placed in them and I'm disappointed this game doesn't seem to do the same to recognize when you rebuild gyms or marts or other unique buildings in a town
>>
>>59047167
I've been flattening the area near the gateway to Withered Wasteland to all be at the same grade as the gateway and moving all the buildings that got lifted up to that grade, I think if you focus first on rebuilding the roads and making them sensible, the rest will start to fall in line.
You can never remake it exactly as it was, but what I'm creating is a new version of the city that will be a set of flat sections of city at various plateaus over each other connected by stairways, elevators, and ropeways, the chaos cant be fixed as a whole but can be turned into various tiered areas of the original city that are very clean and understandable on their own even if their relation to the different elevation tiers can look a bit chaotic.

I wish. I remember the gap between Gen 3 and Gen 4 where Gen 4 mons just started showing up in spin-offs. Having a Pokemon you'd never seen before pop up in a game you wouldn't expect was really cool.
>>
is there a place where the mural slates go or are you guys just placing them freeform? how do you know which piece goes where?
>>
>>59047609
There's a secret spot in the first map where they go and finding all of them gets you Mew
>>
>>59047620
>There's a secret spot in the first map where they go
where is that? or is it revealed as part of the story? I just made the pokemon center in the 2nd map (beach)
>>
>>59047620
>accidentally saw the spoiler
fuck you man, i've got 12 slates left and i was expecting Unown as the reward.
>>
>>59047629
Nah, they don't tell you about it the breakable wall behind where the Pokemon Center is, in it, to the left should be another breakable area, that leads you down a flight of stairs, the location down there is where you place them

>>59047630
My bad anon
>>
>>59047629
its in a very obvious set of ruins in a cave. it stands out because its entirely worked stone instead of natural stone, and once you go in there's a huge unown mural.
There's a windmill and a few vending machines near it.
>>
>>59047428
Level 9 Vermilion for those, that one I did find. The foundation is killing me.
>>
Are there a limited amount of those pre-made houses, like the cabins, per area?
>>
>>59047690
The shop sells a finite number but I've also been able to get them from shiny water so idk.
>>
>>59047167
by making it a kino post-apoc city instead of something fully rebuilt and refined.

I've only been able to find that ugly pink house in water desu. Might just be unlucky.

It IS pure hell, and the worst part is I've been working at it for ages and so far the city looks barely any different so far. Like my friends are asking me what I'm doing in Pokopia but unless you're extremely familiar with what Shattered Skylands USED to look like all of my cleanup job so far is essentially invisible.
But I guess its all long term stuff to work towards, as the game's title says, "little by little". Hopefully after a few more days or weeks my vision starts to come together, because as you said, cleaning up this map is nearly impossible, its essentially the game's final boss.
>>
>>59047810
impressive
I've basically abandoned the three islands with Gyarados, Tinkaton's original home, and the Fuschia gate with plans to maybe do that eventually

Don't put yourself down anon, this looks great.

Why didn't they just take Pokémon with them to space...?
>>
>>59047890
I assume it was likely a resource problem, that and taking something like a Pokemon into space would be dangerous if they couldn't handle this transition, or risk damaging space equipment, putting everyone in danger

It's over all safer to just put them in suspended animation inside of a computer till things are safe enough for them to be released
>>
>>59047890
Why didn't Pokemon fix the weather problem?
>>
>>59047901
Why couldn't they have just digitised themselves too though?
>>
>>59047810
Man, doing all of those streets is gonna be a project. I put a pokemart next to the pokemon center and i don't regret it, it looks good there
>>
how many humans are in space, are there actually like 7 billion space pods in space?
>>
>>59047916
We've actually never been told if humans can do so, since it's pretty obvious the same tech they used to digital Pokemon is what they've been using in all the mainline games to store them in the PC

But the thing is someone needs to be able to release them, it was stated that humans would come to the planet to check on how it was doing, as well as do maintenance on the computer, and release them once things were safe, however it seemed something happened to stop that

The good news here is they hired a hacker that realized that could very well have happened, so they installed a failsafe to release all the Pokemon once things got safe (which is how Pokopia happens in the first place), so it's obvious they didn't tell anyone about this failsafe

>>59047927
We don't know, but the way it comes across is that most of the human race managed to get into space, since they make a point that no Pokemon we've come across have seen any
>>
>bitter = more likely to find rare items
>sweet = find more artifacts
whats the difference?
>>
Ok but how did saffron city end up in the sky?
>>
>>59047961
Its those shiny rocks suspending them up into the air, my current semi-speculative theory is that those rocks are entirely related to the current state of the world. Like some sort of experiment with them (probably under silph co, since its the highest of all of the structures) went wrong and made them just start lifting into the sky, Saffron and Cerulean hit the worst, and the rest of the world was just raised up a little and in random places (hence why Fuchsia has a new wall dividing half the town and a whole corner of it is also lifted up), with all the chunks of land slowly raising into the sky causing the mass tectonic activity that triggered all the other disasters.
>>
>>59047961
The planet was getting it's ass beat by the global climate changes, causing plate tectonics to move BOTH Saffron and Celadon Cities (since it's actually both locations, not just one) into the sky, how does it get shot into the sky? Fantasy setting, but it is possible for things to in theory get pushed higher up, they just took liberties because Pokemon is a fantasy setting to make it more extreme
>>
>>59047960
artifacts means relics, rare items is everything else that can spawn like dolls, fossils, armor fragments, music, slates
>>
>>59047890
They didn't even have the resources to take themselves to space properly, it seems to me like they miscalculated and got stranded as a result.

This is the only thing about the game that bugs me, like half of the legendaries have their lore to be "we fix things when they're fucked up" but let things get so bad all the humans had to vacate, what was Fug DOING? Zygardebros???
I'm joking mainly, I don't mind them bending things to give the game a premise, letting you play as a Pokemon outright was objectively the correct choice here and their options were either this or a retread of PMD's premise where humans are mythical creatures or something.
>>
>>59045468
I think about Pokopia most of the day, but that's because I've been playing it. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you.
>>
So, after checking the Ultra Ruins in Ultra Sun and Moon again, I found some stuff:
>the place is littered with "Relocation Notices", which are stated to be digital storage units, though whatever was supposed to read them is long gone, so whatever has been digitized and stored on them is unknown
>the dude that's hanging around there says all the humans fled to outer space
>people in the area didn't like to talk about the power plant back when they were still around; something, possibly an experiment with a new fuel source, seems to have caused the plant to explode, rendering the area inhospitable
Combine this with what we know from the Hacker's notes about the weather anomalies apparently starting in Alola, the Aether Foundation being the ones to cover everything up until it was too late, the whole thing about storing and relocating all Pokemon on the planet to save them, and the fact that humans all fled to space, and I think it's safe to say this is indeed set in the same universe/timeline as the Ultra Ruins.
>>
>>59047912
>>59048018
It seems like most legendaries and mythicals let nature take it's course if whatever is happening is natural, that and Kyogre confirmed it went to sleep and pretty much missed out on the end of the world

Arceus is no help as well, since it does the God thing of letting mortals deal with their own problem
>>
>>59045676
Do you actually play any video games or do you just troll on 4Chan and probably Twitter all day?
>>
>>59048072
most of the legends just
>show up
>seethe about humans
>fuck off without fixing anything
even when humans are all gone they follow this script when you talk to them in game.
>>
>>59047901
why couldn't they keep the digitized servers in space?
>>
>>59048085
Honestly I have no answer for that, since that seems like a good question to ask
>>
>>59048085
space seems to suck, the pokemon turned out better off because they left them in the PC.
>>
>>59048056
I imagine that's the original plan, but GameFreak pretty much steered them toward a distant future setting so that it have less of an impact to their future stories.
>>
So the apocalypse releasing "ALL" the pokemon from the PC was a mistake right? like Typhlosion clearly got out of jail early, although with no human kids left on earth maybe he's just following his parole and keeping a safe distance.
>>
>>59048080
Can you blame them? The legendaries were constantly being exploited by humans for their own goals.

I know you're just making a typhlosion joke but its not just releasing all of the pokemon
its only releasing pokemon once it finds a suitable habitat for them, which you are going around making
so you released typhlosion, while taking the form of a child around it
>>
I completed the mural, how come I'm still getting pieces of it now? Am I doomed to keep getting copies endlessly?

>Because localizers don't play video games, or the person they used grew up playing Red/Blue in Japanese to begin with and never knew that it was incorrectly localized to Pallet and canonized as such. Just change it to Pallet yourself.

Sorry your chud opinion is wrong.
The Japanese name of Palette is
>まっさらな街 (Massarana Town) "Brand New City"
which is a pun on the Japan name for Pallet Town (マサラタウン - Masara Town)
Meaning "Palette Town" is a correct localization
>>
>>59047990
>BOTH Saffron and Celadon Cities (since it's actually both locations, not just one)
People keep saying this but there's no hint of Celadon anywhere in the level
>>
>>59048170
No, >>59047942 stated it's on purpose in case of hardware failure on the server's end.

>>59048018

Do you have to make all habitats at least once? for completion? Even if its one you already have every mon for?
>>
>>59048398
>The Department Store and Game Corner are there though
Where? Pics
>>
>>59048350
theres a secret door on the Gyarados island that will only open if you have a full pokedex
I assume thats the dev room, which was in Celadon
>>
>>59048350
Gyarados island is Celadon, its just fucked beyond repair.
>>
>>59048482
If that island is supposed to be Celadon, why are the roads still Saffron City mosaic blocks?

And where is this Game Corner?
>>
>>59048493
Good question, but then again: Why are the buildings Celadon City colors instead of standard saffron yellow?
>>
>>59048493
the cyber-floored building in the other corner with the Rocket base underneath makes much more sense to be the Game Corner than being Saffron's gym
the whole area is confusing
>>
>>59048193
>most suitable
>squirtle immediately nearly dies of thirst
>Tangrowth being a retard and does nothing
>many other Pokémon became aimless
The hacker should be glad Ditto was special or he would have doomed all the Pokémon that was released.
