if the God you believe in were to say absurd things that violate common sense, would you listen to him? Because that is exactly what Ghetsis's propaganda is based on
>>59052901Most people would, because religion isn't about spiritism but tribalism. Most muslims aren't muslims, they're simply following a culture they feel forced to follow in fear of rejection.
>>59052901This particular element of the story is ridiculous >yeah bro my Pokemon says everyone has to release their Pokemon even though the entire world is built on their partnership>please ignore your sapient Pokemon calling me a liar
>>59052992That's the point, Reshiram/Zekrom are the equivalent of deities for Unova, and in that moment Ghetsis is claiming that the Legendary is on Team Plasma's side. So, what would you think then? Because, as you say "the entire world is built on their partnership", but it is no longer Ghetsis denying that bond, it is God himself.
>>59053028Reshiram and Zekrom don’t speak for themselves, everyone would just have to assume N is telling the truth about what it’s saying (and even believe that he can talk to Pokemon in the first place)If you heard “God” saying something that contradicted what you knew about it you’d assume it was advanced tech or some other form of fakery, “but he has the Pokemon” is not enough.
>>59052992>even though the entire world is built on their partnershipIt isn't it just seems that way from the protagonists idealistic perspective but later games make it very clear that this partnership is a very recent phenomenon and people at large still view pokemon as disposable when it suits them(sea mauville)
>>59053070Fair point
>>59052992>>yeah bro my Pokemon says everyone has to release their Pokemon even though the entire world is built on their partnershipaccording to team plasma, the very foundations of the world are flawed and they must be changed drastically. yes, it is a tall order. that is why they want the prestige of a legendary on their side. no, it's not going to happen overnight. they acknowledge this. yes, there are people who will never agree with them. but if team plasma has swayed enough of the population, intimidation and social pressure will convince the holdouts.
Arceus itself instructed me to collect Pokemon. Thus Team Plasma are heretics and Unovans follow a false deitiy!
>>59053132Mew is the one true God you fucking infidel
>>59052901Plasma committing clearly evil acts while pretending to pose a moral question makes this story retarded. I have no choice but to assume the actual story is about N coming to terms with reality rather than the bond between Pokemon and humans being suspect. It’s too stupid otherwise
>>59053160>I have no choice but to assume the actual story is about N coming to terms with reality rather than the bond between Pokemon and humans being suspect.it took you 15 years to figure this out?
>>59053191No, but the amount of people insisting otherwise did make me wonder.
>>59053160>>59053191>>59053222Because the story wanted to be both, the growth of N/Ghetsis propaganda and the moral dilemma, but the moral dilemma got nerfed because of the commercial limits of Pokemon, but still, for such a corporate franchise, i think what we got at the end is still decent
Thoughts on N? Was his character well done?
>>59053348N's journey and team plasma's duplicitous nature was always the point of the story. people get so hung up on what they expected the game to be that they can't see what's right in front of them.my biggest problem is that the game doesn't put any effort into constructing team plasma's facade so a later reveal could have a greater impact. but apparently two grunts spitroasting a munna is too subtle for pokemon fans.
>>59053388he was a gay hippy tool
>>59053441It's a game for kids, they needed to make sure the point was made clear right away.
>>59053388Very well done in the game, pretty chill dude with strong empathy, idk why the manga ruined the ferris well scene, shifting from a moment where N confides in the player to the manga one that portrays N as over the top edgy and cold
I never understood the people who said BW is deep. It makes a big deal out of its story but it's far more blatant than any Pokémon game before it. For a game that tries to raise a moral dilemma, they go so hard with turning everyone on one side into strawmen. Ironically, B2W2 is looked down upon by many Unova fans as not being as "deep", but it actually has Team Plasma members who care about the issues and are painted as having valid concerns.
Pokemon are basically jamboys
