It's because the word for dinosaur in Japanese is "Kyoryu" which literally means "Scary Dragon". Hence why several Dino-mons get the dragon typing. See also the Stegosaurus half of the Galarian fossils giving dragon-type, Baxcalibur being a Spinosaurus, and the Paradox Tower Trio being a Ceratopsian, Sauropod, and Dromeosaur.

I love Tyrantrum, but I hate the white borders running along its underbelly. They bother me more and more every time I see them.

I feel like the amount of people who know that Tytantrum is based on King Louis "The Sun King" is rather low (the ancient Kalos king is also based on the same person btw. that's why the palace has sun pokemon shaped hedges and also Lysandre is very very very obviously related to the ancient king and he has fiery hair)
