Really great dex apart from a few horrible misses like Volbeat and Grumpig, with very high highs. Actually betrayed fan expectactions but in a conscious manner: they deliberately did it to push the designs to new heights both in artistic vision and - due to the technological leap from gen 2 - complexity.

Based gen 3 is the best region by far starters are cool, Metagross the most cooler pseudo, deoxys the most cooler mythical, jirachi the cutest mithical etc .
Gen 3 had the largest % of coolmons. So much so that they had to tone it down in following generations. Gen 3 is the quintessential boy gen, hence why it's so popular here.

Fantastic games. I really love the mixing records feature, and secret bases in general. There's also nothing like discovering sealed chamber or sky pillar for yourself the first time as a kid. Oh and I'm pretty sure May and the player chick from the first Ranger awoke something in me
