>>59059671It had a few useful features like a decent Nuzlocke mode (displayed if a wild encounter was the first on the route, accurately tracked if the encounter was a dupe, prevented throwing balls if it wasn't the first encounter, automatically released / boxed and locked fainted Pokemon), among other things. It shouldn't take long to implement all those things and a simple flag select screen for new saves to enable/disable, but it will take time and include graphical updates. Having that already assembled, something that takes no creative input or anything, just a straight up base mode implementation, shouldn't be locked away. And that's just one of a few dozen changes that are all like this - things that only cost time, and are near-universal.
