The English intro for the Advance Battle season spoiled a bunch of stuff from the Battle Frontier, before Ash even got his 7th badge. While the dub's seasons never really matched how Japan changes it's intros, they really jumped the gun this time, using an intro animation like 40 episodes too early. It even spoiled gen 4 Pokemon that hadn't been revealed in the west yet, including James' Mime Jr. who wouldn't appear until the next season.

They WOULD have had to get permission to write a NEW appearance of it, in essence continuing on the story of life from a character developed by a dead tranny and as we all know, they found making a new character and doing their own thing was free compared to paying for rights for a character based off a pokémon creature they already had covered by a trademark.
