For me this one is top-tier.>BAGON has a dream of one day soaring in the sky. In doomed efforts to fly, this POKéMON hurls itself off cliffs. As a result of its dives, its head has grown tough and as hard as tempered steel.
Bagon -> Shelgon -> Flygon>no let's swap to SalAmEncEshit pokémon.
>>59064567Tatsubay -> Komoruu -> BohmanderNuckrar -> Vibrava -> Flygon >Flygon was Flygon in original language and Salamence had the salamander part too, there was never a -gon patter.Holy retard
i remember hearing paradox salamence would be dragon/dark and was hoping it'd be some assmad seething version that never evolved to be able to fly
deserves a regional form.
>>59063777Past Paradox Salamence should've been on the ground with no wings
>>59064584It really is fascinating how much worse the localized names are. Their obsession with wordplay and alliteration introduces so many unnecessary problems, not only creating patterns where there are none and obscuring meaning but also making it impossible to spell and pronounce the names of various pokemon intuitively. The original names are so much more clear and meaningful in comparison. Even when there are puns or references, it never gets in the way of straightforwardly conveying the concept behind the design in a way thats easy to understand and remember. It is probably why the most iconic pokemon tend to keep their japanese names.
>>59064626>>59064734GF probably thought they shouldn't do it with past Volcarona also being a ground crawler.
Not a 'dex entry but on Melemele island in SM/USM Bagon can be forund on R.3 with wild Salamence an SOS spawn. At the bottom of the cliff in Kala'e Bay, wild Bagon can be found, with Shelgon being its SOS rare call.
>>59063777>the armor on its head isn't naturally there and grew in response to bagon throwing itself off cliffs>it evolves into salamence by sheer willpowerit would be cool if there was a regional that played into bagon's adaptability. like one that didn't care for flying and evolved into something completely different from salamence
