How does the story change? How would Misty and Brock's interactions with him change?
>>
>>59069920
Why do you smelly retards obsess over nonsense like this?
>>
>>59069920
How does the story change if what? If Satoshi had a red jacket instead of a blue one?
>>
>>59069977
No if Satoshi was a mute autist
>>
>>59069920
His companion would be Leaf. Brock and Misty would be regular gym leaders. His first Pokemon would be Bulbasaur
>>
>>59069920
If he has the same character as in the games? The show becomes extremely boring since he doesn’t talk and any interactions between him, other humans and Pokemon would look as dumb as it does in SM and Mastersex. It’s why none of the manga that stars him keeps him silent and why Origins didn’t either.
Realistically if they kept his name and outfit the same then he would still have the same character as Ash.
>>
>>59069920
Why are autists so obsessed with red?
>>
>>59070028
>His first Pokemon would be Bulbasaur
Not Charmander?
>>
>>59070078
The idea of a guy who gets things done while never having to talk sounds cool as fuck to a mild autismo like me. Wish I could do that irl.
>>
>>59070076
Back in gen 1 the character was referred to as both Satoshi and Red, it wasn't until gen 2 that Red got cemented as THE official name. Anime Satoshi/Red was never meant to be a different character from game Satoshi/Red
>>
They wouldn't have made Red silent, didn't you watch Origins?
>>
>>59069920
watch origins
>>
>>59070078
>why are mario fans so obsessed with mario
>>
>>59070150
Mario has an actual personality.
>>
>>59070150
Mario fans are not obsessed with Mario you idiot. They might like the games but that doesn't mean they think about the character.

Autismos like you love to imagine "red" having some kind of deep significance.
>>
everything changes for the better.
>>
>>59070161
In what way?
Because they drop his boring ass after the first gen, and we never see him again?
>>
>>59070156
>Yipee!!! Wahoooo!!
Sure buddy
>>
>>59070170
Still more than Red.
>>
>>59070167
Everyway..
;)
>>
>>59069920
They wouldn't pity him enough to join him on his journey.
>>
>>59069920
Ash in Kanto/Orange Islands/Johto was pretty much just him but rewritten to work as protagonist of 90s adventure anime for kids.
To make it work you would need to literally just turn him into Ash. Ash was sculpted from Red with the target audience in mind.
Obviously later he devolved into fuck know what, but that's different issue. Red also had it rough - look at his portrayal in USUM.
>>
>>59070244
wdym?
>>
>>59070244
>Red also had it rough - look at his portrayal in USUM.
Where he's a happily married man on his honeymoon?
How horrible for him.
>>
>>59070245
Ash is stereotypical kodomo adventure protagonist - an inexperienced and impulsive goof with heart of gold, bit of creativity and will to learn. He was made like that because it's how protagonist in this kind of anime were at that time.
If you put into that place a blank state like Red, you'll just need to fill in the gaps with actual personality and again, Ash was already written to be model protagonist for this kind of anime.
>>
>>59070263
pony… what are you even on right now?
‘ASS KETCHUP’? I feel like I need a translator for this hot mess of anime philosophy and typos ur writing,.
>>
>>59070158
>Autismos like you love to imagine "red" having some kind of deep significance.
Not really. Its seems that way to you because you live in the pokemon bubble but its nothing beyond Mario fans with Mario.

>>59070167
NTA, but yes, that'd make things better.
>>
>>59070263
>stereotypical kodomo adventure protagonist
You say this now but then claim Roy is a copy.
>>
having a mute anime protag would have been a neat gimmick actually

red was never a mute, he obviously answers yes/no questions to npcs, and issues verbal commands to his pokemon. and the copycat girl literally repeats to you what red says to her

"Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow
<player>: "Hi! Do you like Pokémon? Uh no, I just asked you. Huh? You're strange!"
Copycat: "Hmm? Quit mimicking? But, that's my favorite hobby!""
>>
>>59070303
>red was never a mute,
retconned into being one
>he obviously answers yes/no questions to npcs,
nodding of the head
>and issues verbal commands to his pokemon.
no need for that
>and the copycat girl literally repeats to you what red says to her
the smoking gun. But it was retconned.
>>
>>59070278
It's hilariously ironic that you accuse others of being in the Pokémon bubble, yet you genuinely believe Mario fans are obsessed with the Mario character.

Mindboggling stupidity. You're a total moron :)
>>
>>59070314
>you genuinely believe Mario fans are obsessed with the Mario character
I literally said the opposite. Learn to read.

I know that which is what I meant by
>if they kept his name and outfit the same then he would still have the same character as Ash
Even if he had the same design as the games and was named Red he would still have the same personality. But if he was like Red from gen 2 onward then he'd be a pretty boring protagonist.

read pokemon adventures retard
>>
>>59070378
That changes more than just swapping Ash with Red, which is what OP asked, as retarded as Op is.
>>
>>59070170
>leaving out "MAMA MIA"
duplicitous
>>
Nothing. Ash was supposed to be the anime's version of Red, just as Gary is the anime's version of Blue. Misty and Brock are changed in similar ways, they judt didn't have alternative names.
>>
>>59069920
Silent game Red, Manga Red or CHARIZAAAAAAAARD anime Red?

Charmander being pushed as Red's starter is more of a modern thing, back in the day he was pushed with Bulbasaur and Pikachu if they didn't just give him all starters
>>
>>59071104
Seeing him exclusively with Squirtle is extremely rare. In fact I can't think of a single time that has happened, which is a bit ironic considering it was Ash's first choice initially.
>>
>>59071137
The closest you get is in Smash Bros, since it appears Squirtle is his starter in that universe, according to Subspace Emissary having him (with Lucas' help) go out of their way to catch him Ivysaur and Charizard later on that game's plot

I've been people interpret that as him somehow losing those two and trying to regain them, but nothing implies that, and it seems like his goal was always to catch them

But in actual Pokemon the Squirtle line does get shafted as a starter for Red unless they have him with all starters, other wise it's Bulbasaur (Classic), Charmander (Modern) and Pikachu (Both)
>>
>>59070076
>If he has the same character as in the games?

The games are not canon. They are based on the manga. This is what happens when turnonormies discuss Pokemon. You get shitposts like this that try to pass themselves off as genuine.
>>
>>59071104
kind of weird considering... red...
>>
>>59071618
Red wasn't really his official name until GSC. Of course there were the manga but game Red wasn't offcially called Red until GSC.
>>
>>59071618
Red getting Bulbasaur means Blue (Green in Japanese) would have Charmander, so Red has the green starter and Green has the red starter, it fits really well

Works double well when you remember the first two Pokemon games are Red and Green
>>
They had that Pokémon Origins special, maybe it'd be like that.
>>
>>59071728

In the manga Red and Green exchanged Pokemon. Once by accident and again because of trading.
>>
>>59070306
Red can talk. Can't nod your head to ask about someone you don't have a picture of.
>>
>>59071964
Retconned.
>>
>>59071911
The manga isn't canon to the games however

>>59071964
Red is pretty much like any other silent protagonist, they do talk in universe, they're just silent to allow you the player to self insert as them

The choice of making Red silent in later things is clearly a choice into leaning into the silent protagonist concept by making him actually silent

They do something similar with Link in Breath of the Wild, as it's stated he's silent by choice in that game if you look into any of the lore notes left behind, where in every other case of Link in the series is just a silent protagonist because that's just what they do

Also an NPC on SS Anne points out that Red is the strong silent type, so it seems even when played as he didn't talk much

Ash as a full evolved team (minus pikachu) bear Gary in the league, beat E4 and is phased out in jhoto
