Now that the dust has settled, were these games worth it?
>>59077756no
>>59077756Kinda
yes
>>59077756Probably the worst gen in the series right next to 5 and 7
>>59077756Better than SV but still a 5/10 Pokémon game. Winds and Waves will mog both so third times the charm lmao
>>59077756Catching pokemons in the wild area was neat but then S/V did it a million times better by being fully open worldSo it has nothing going for it
Yeah worth for shiny legendaries
>>59077884Scarlet and Violet are unplayable broken messes and one of the worst disasters in major studio game releases next to Cyberpunk. It has to pause for a few seconds to load after every move lmao.
Yeah
>>59077756Yes the games were quite good. The music was nice, pretty enjoyable mons, nice character customization, good quality of life additions while still making you work to get IVs, natures, abilities you want. DLC locations were good. Online system worked quite well.
>>59077895>It's the same schizo every single time
>>59077756Sword & Shield are not good games, they blatantly reused models and animations made 6 years prior to their release, have really undercooked characters, a story that is both nonsensical and boring as hell, in a region that stuffs as many biomes as it can together but still comes out bland and forgettable, with a gimmick no one liked, barely any content out of the pathetic main quest. If you want to polish the turd with DLC it'll run you $30, and the expansions are actually ok, but all in all I think it's safe to say they were disappointments, both because of lofty fan expectations but also just a lack of enthusiasm from GameFreak. That said, it's surprising that you can still have quite a bit of good fun with these games just because being able to play an HD Pokemon game (treepicking aside) with a controller and plenty of qol feels really nice. If the game had a couple extra areas to explore and included all the Pokemon I think people would actually be mostly positive about them despite all the other problems they have. For the people who prefer SV these games look even worse in hindsight but as someone who didn't like the open world concept and never got used to moving via raidon everywhere, it made SwSh look like a very flawed yet still true Pokemon experience in comparison.
>>59077756All I have to say is: BBND
>>59077756Considering you had to pay for the game twice over for it to be good, no.
