Does anyone actually like the roaming mechanic?
>>59089335>it made legendary pokemon actually difficult to catch and encounter and made them genuinely feel rareThey were kino.
>>59089346The Regitrio did a much better job of that. Having to chase them isn't exciting.
>>59089350The Regitrio failed because everyone just looked it up online
>>59089380I actually used the game manual to translate it.
>>59089380>The Regitrio failed because everyone just looked it up onlineway to out yourself as a retard anonthey literally even give you a braille dictionary with the game
Roaming is cool idea but there should be locations for them too at higher levels once you beat the post game.
>>59089402And you honestly think EVERY kid looked in the manual? that's why they started adding tutorials in-game and stopped printing manuals full-stop. No cunt read them and failed to learn how to play the game without getting taught by someone.
>>59089380Even looking it up is more engaging and interesting than chasing dogs around the map
>>59089335No, making me chase them before they go to a attic location is better.Bonus points if it's cinematic to force a shiny lock. I always love when people cry about the shiny lock.
You know -Kinda makes me sad we never got this mechanic implemented for less rare mons. You could have certain species migrate based on the season.
>>59089408>And you honestly think EVERY kid looked in the manual?yes? they stopped putting manuals in games well after that generation and it was mostly to cheap out on extra materials, but also because games used to not be able to tutorialize things or world build or anythingwhy do you think instruction booklets used to be mini world guides and lore books? were you just not around?
>>59089335It's fine in HGSS, because fast balls actually work properly and you can sleep them between battles. Raikou/Entei and Lati@s are the easiest legendaries to catch in those games.
>>59089518Anon, that gen were the first to stop and by Gen 4 on DS, they stopped adding them full=stop and started including marketing blurb in instead. Rise of the internet meant a fall in kids paying attention to the shit they had to hand.
>>59089543>Anon, that gen were the first>paying attention to the shit they had to hand.oh great, an indian too
>>59089335Yes, I enjoyed it a lot. It made the world feel grander knowing these Pokemon were out there, and that you don't know when they could show themselves. I liked hunting them, and there was a charm in applying a method to the madness to go about not only assembling a team for them but cornering them so that you landed right on them. It's disheartening to see more and more people not like them, but from what I've gathered it's mainly entitled zoomers that don't want to think strategy for something they feel isn't as worth chasing, because of the goalpost of rare encounter being moved to Shiny hunting in later installments by its increased ease. I just like hunting for the Pokemon I like in general. I've played Johto games the most out of any replays and never get bored hunting the roamers.
>>59089335>leave/enter a route a million times until they’re right next to you >weaken and chuck balls at them until rng blesses youProbably one of the worst legendary obtain methods they’ve done. A totally dull way to catch them and I’m glad it’s likely over and done with. Good fucking riddance.
>>59089335despise it, possibly my least favorite gameplay mechanic in the entire series. always save the master ball for them to just not engage with the mechanic as best as possible
