Objectively Correct Tierlist

>B2W2 and HGSS in S
>BW and Platinum in A
>XY in F
Uh oh, Kojo isn't gonna like this!

That being said, SwSh should be moved down a couple tiers. It's genuine shit that nearly killed the franchise.
>>
>>59090197
you have not played each of these games.

>>59090197
ZA is S
>>
Imagine missing the RBY hype.

*Shit
>>
>>59090197
Glad someone realizes that BDSP are basically as good as DP. Yeah there's switch bullshit, and I don't like the graphics, but there were a lot of improvements
>>
>>59090209
Yeah, I'll admit it. I've never played X or Y. They look like shit, and everyone knows they were rushed. I'm not wasting my time.
>>
>>59090237
And I haven't played LGPE. I'm not 5
>>
>>59090197
>Emerald in S tier
>Ruby Sapphire in C tier
Make it make sense. It was already retarded when others made the gap between Platinum and DP that big, but at least DP has more issues that was fixed with Platinum.

g/s is objectively better than r/b

SV is too low
>>
>>59090257
I probably shouldn't have put it in C, but I think I subconsciously didn't want it in the same tier as ORAS. The reasoning is something like "There's not much of a reason to play Ruby and Sapphire. Emerald is almost a strict upgrade: Rayquaza, Deoxys, better post game, etc."

>>59090262
HGSS actually IS a strict upgrade to GS. There is absolutely no reason to play GS unless you just want to play every pokemon game. At least R/B have the distinction of being the games that started it all. That alone saves them from F-tier.

>>59090276
No chance I would put SV in A-tier.
>>
Even if you think the newer games are better, I don't see how Crystal is D tier and Gold and Silver is F tier.
>>
>>59090344
this, just proof he didnt even play them. like put them low if you want but if youre really acting like crystal is a game changer youre retarded or have no idea what youre talking about, literally the third version that changes the least in the entire series and doesnt even have a gimmick to go with it like yellow at least did. i wont tear you limb from limb if you do prefer crystal for its encounters or kris or the battle tower or whatever but im sure most people that make these tier list images even if they have played crystal never even interacted with those features and just rank it higher by virtue of "well, its there" rather than their own opinion, the "correct" way to rank crystal is equal with gs, though of course there isnt really a correct way, but you get the point. i just think its annoying when people just apply the logic of "well later third versions change quite a lot and i know the general notes of what crystal adds so ill mindlessly rank it like its an objective improvement" when it really isnt and youre getting a near 99.99% replica of the original games, which yeah is a problem of third versions in general but the other ones are at least more like a 70% replica lol

Not OP, but it's clear from his replies that he's taking the perspective of someone who doesn't think playing every game is worthwhile, so, if there's a version better than another one, the existence of that better version actually HURTS the ranking of the worse one.

Personally, I think that's stupid. But it's not illogical

Yet DP and Pt are closer to each other despite there being even less reason to play DP over Pt. I'm also curious what base DP and BDSP has over both RS and ORAS, and what Emerald has over Platinum.

Platinum is better than DP, but in the same way that Crystal is better than GS. It's not a big enough difference to warrant a huge jump. It's basically the same game with a few nice improvements and a slightly better story.

The reason Crystal is two while tiers up is that it's hard to recommend playing Gen 2 instead of just playing HGSS, but if someone insisted on playing Gen 2, I would absolutely tell them to play Crystal. If HGSS didn't exist, GS would be D tier and Crystal would probably be D+/C-
>>
>>59090480
Platinum is by far the biggest third version upgrade compared to its predecessors
Only thing wrong with it is Misdreavus and murkrow getting shoahd

>It's not a big enough difference to warrant a huge jump. It's basically the same game with a few nice improvements and a slightly better story
It arguably adds more than Emerald did to RS.
>expanded pokedex
>battle frontier
>7 new forms to 3 Pokemon
>distortion world
>more legendaries to catch
>resort area villa
>gym leader and rival rematches
>post game story with Team Galactic remnants
>wifi plaza
>>

Admittedly I forgot how much Pt actually added. I'm not sure if this makes me want to move Pt up or move DP down
