Anon, we knew it was getting DLC because Game Freak's future plans chart had listed DLC for it planned for production after its launch.Game Freak plan their shit out, there's no "reactionary" DLC. If something gets it, they intended to make it regardless.

But do understand why the last games released needed it per the original system release plan (L: Z-A '24, DLC '25, Pokopia, end of '25, DLC mid '26, Gen 10 late '26). But yes, they're developing games leaving provisions for DLC addition from now on, just in case they change minds and do decide to add DLC before the dev cycle ends. When Gen 10 gets going, they're going to have to work the projects with an eye to future releases (no DLC for L: G say, because they also have BW remakes to shuffle into the release cycle before Gen 11).
