>>59098714i think they reached a peak of how "put together" the games felt aesthetically between gen 5 and 7, gen 1&2 arent really part of this conversation at all, and gen 3&4 sort of still have a sticks and glue feeling presentation to them with their more barebones graphical style compared to other gba/ds games and sort of jank elements like the weird capitalization shit in gen 3. gen 5 6 and 7 feel like they were at least trying to make the games visually feel like quality products, even if they still look and feel janky in many ways because gay freak sucks at making games, thats where i think you can tell they were putting thought into making the product feel "quality" rather than earlier games where you can tell they really didnt care lol, and nowadays theyve returned to that mantra but in an age where you cant get away with that anymore (even though they still manage to) you could say it would probably have been better if they stuck to ignoring the "quality" of their games because people tend to not like how bw or xyoras look anyway and they couldave focused on adding more heckin contenterino to the games instead, but regardless the road always leads to the hellhole were in now where gayfreak cant develop hd video games and therefore cant make games with substance anymore

I regard RSE as the best games in the series, but DPPt + HGSS together are better than RSE + FRLG.Gen 2 has its problems but introduced awesome, mainstay features like breeding and time based features (SOVL). Gen 1 is ranked 4th basically entirely on the merit of its dungeons, which are the best in the series and it’s not even close.Gen 6 has some awesome secondary features like super training and Pokenav+, but the extreme casualization, and Megas (which I hate for starting the gimmick trend) lead the more consistent quality of Gen 5 to just barely beat them out for me. Gen 7 has cool battles but is a slog to play in practice. Gen 9 has cool ideas but is unfinished. And Gen 8? LMAOOOOO I’m discounting legends so that I can admonish SwSh + BDSP like they deserve.

Not bad, but shallow. My rankings wouldn't be very different from yours but my enjoyment of the games, and what I value in a pokemon game in general shares no common ground with you whatsoever. The thread is about quality, you focused on graphics in your response, therefore you seem to think graphics = quality.
