desu the hate for Ash Greninja was warrented. Shit was some genuine Deviant Art shit design. They just added Ash’s sideburns and some Shadow the Hedgehog colors.
The funniest part is the literal only reason the self-insert power fantasy frog existed is because the executives literally would've killed themselves at the thought of allowing the writers to bring back one of Ash's old Pokemon so he could properly promote Mega Evolution during the generation that introduced Mega Evolution.And the executives wouldn't have had to kvetch over this if GameFreak just introduced ONE Kalos Mega that wasn't Diancie (because Diancie is a Mythical, and Ash wasn't allowed to have those at the time, also it was too girly for a male protagonist like him).It's retardation, all the way from top to bottom.
