The main problem with ending Arceus arc already is I don't see how you can release future arc suits without tying it to the main story. Even if the stories are all trash and completely disjointed from each other. So let's say Volo has chimp out maximus and gets fucked by Rei and Arceus or whatever and disappears. Why would they still need to do tournaments? I don't even know where the main story can go from there anyways. Paldea isn't interesting enough for a full 2 year block. So let's assume arc suit stories still get dropped in standalone events every few months like neo champions. What will the main story be about? Arc suits are already designed to endlessly milk existing assets and have nothing stories.

Back when AS Ethan and Silver were announced, I was annoyed by the fact that up until that point, Arc Suits seemed to be exclusive to champions, but now they weren't. Then I said "whatever, at least they're a legendary duo owned by two rivals and I like Silver anyway". Then another rival but also a champion (Blue) got his Arc Suit and it seemed like they were going back to the original pattern.

I legitimately saw AS Brock and Misty as some sort of twisted early April Fool's joke. But I realized that can be "justified" as them being the first ever gym leaders, Ash's first two travel buddies in the anime, and the first two characters you get in this game aside from yourself, so at least they're SORT OF "iconic" as far as gym leaders go.
But what the fuck justifies a character like SABRINA getting an Arc Suit?? And forming a duo with a random gym leader from a completely different region?? fucking lol

I love how you can tell they desperately tried to pick two pokémon of opposite types so the character choice wouldn't be completely random. Maybe if instead of Sabrina it was Diantha, I wouldn't have minded Korrina due to Kalos being where Mega evolution made its debut.

If this were a champion-only thing, the Arceus arc's plot structure would make perfect sense. There are just enough champions to match the potential number of chapters, just like the Villain arc and the number of villain orgs. Are they simply too afraid of being "predictable"? I don't see why they couldn't provide fanservice of less important characters (like gym leaders) with other kinds of alts like Sygna Suits (which Sabrina doesn't have) or costumes (which Korrina doesn't have). Maybe they've gotten too lazy to come up with original plots for events. Or maybe the pressure from TPC/GF to do Kanto pandering around this time was too great?

All I felt from seeing these new arc suits was just fatigue not even anger or shock. That already happened with Brock and Misty. One problem is they pick these characters and the writing isn't even good. Brock and Misty's story is the worst arc story yet and maybe one of the worst stories the entire game. You can see the problem with gym leaders is they're extremely shallow one note throwaway characters you forget about after you earn the badge.

Ethan and Silver's was terrible because they used Pokémon they had no connection to at all going against every other story of using their ace. Champions usually have clear motivations. They don't even try to justify the gym leader tournaments besides Blue forcing the format around gym leader pairs. Without having seen it I already know the new plot will be as meaningless as terrible as Brock's and they're probably not going to show the winner again. I guess Blue's suggestion wasn't a one off and they're just going to shit out double gym leader or whatever arbitrary category arc pairs every other month. It completely cheapens being blessed by Arceus too. What a whore.

My favorite part of the villain arc was that it was at least somewhat predictable. You could guess the characters like the protagonists/rivals, villains and champions and what legendary is featured. Arc gym leaders is no fun. No one ever guessed or could possibly have guessed Brock, Misty, Sabrina and Korrina and it's not fun to. Fuck it Arc Thorton Arc Cilan Arc Will Arc Sophocles. All completely fair game. No clue their stories nor does it matter. If it was all champions you could at least guess.

"Head Start" is a "Debut" type of skill so it doesn't trigger again with Mega Evolution
AS Korrina is a SSA Cynthia 2.0, but Fighting tower you probably still want Aura Cynthia because the latter is one of the few Fighting types that can apply a status (50% chance of paralysis on vacuum wave)
On the other hand though, AS Korrina + SSA Cynthia + SS Bede should be able to clear the whole tower by themselves.

As much as people like to wank Arceus, there's actually no reason it has to be the strongest thing out there forever. Alternate dimensions exist, you can straight up travel between them in Ultra Space, so there's an endless number of alternate beings.
But more realistically, it's worth nothing that Arceus isn't actually stated to be creator of all things, but is thought to be in the mythology of Sinnoh. There's a bunch of different directions you can take that for further design space.

I seriously just used 3/5 SST Red, 3/5 NC Blue and Volkner for every physical Electric tower stage. My luckily I didn't have to upgrade or cake my 3/5 N.
Volkner heals self, has damage filter, another good chance to self heal, mitigate its recoil to a degree even if RNG like and he does flinch too.
Much more useful in the end, plus grid expansion made it easier to buff his attack stats.

What you do is get two pins from the store. They're 20 5star powerups each. Then, have a goal in mind of what you need. For example, let's say you want gear for Psychic types that improves attack when Psychic Terrain is on. Use feathers until get a Psychic theme. Once you do, lock it with the pin. Then keep rolling until you get a skill related to Psychic Terrain and it's in red. That means it's the max version of that skill. Once you have that, lock it with the second pin and then pray to your personal god. Then get back to rolling and hope the other two skills are read and related to Psychic Terrain.

Having real consequences to choices makes those choices more significant. Having a real allegiance that gives you exclusive stuff but locks you out of other exclusive stuff is fun; one could argue that it is a foundational aspect of Pokemon. I concede that the original intent was to trade with someone who got the other version, but how many faggots are their on /vp/ RIGHT NOW who will argue about which version is better?

I'm not saying that the bulk of the game should be split decisions, but a couple of events every year in which you got some unique content and the final outcome of a story was decided based on which faction did better would be a nice change of pace.

Yeah, but in mainline games that's limited to mystery gifts. Everything else is accessible without a time limit as long as you have both versions. And there's plenty of people who buy both.
