Here's what's being reported in Japan.

>One day, when Harukawa returned home, a paper bag left by suspect Hirokawa was in front of her home
>Inside were Pokémon cards and a message card
>"Please contact me tonight. Help me"
>Harukawa consulted the police station on December 25 last year. A police officer escorted her home,
>and suspect Hirokawa was there, staring intently at her…
>The Metropolitan Police acknowledged the danger and arrested him on suspicion of violating the Stalker Regulation Law
>A fruit knife was found in suspect Hirokawa's car, and it was also revealed that he had been secretly filming Harukawa
>Suspect Hirokawa was indicted in January this year and released.
>Afterward, the Metropolitan Police issued a prohibition order and took other measures, and Harukawa evacuated to a related location, but…
>Regarding the Pokémon Center where she worked part-time…
>I love Pokémon, and working here was my dream, so I don't want to quit"
>The Metropolitan Police informed Harukawa that suspect Hirokawa knew her workplace and suggested she change her part-time job
>Harukawa continued working without changing, leading to this incident…

Some people were saying he was her ex bf, and that's just false.
>>

The police should have kept him in jail. Someone shouldn't be forced to find a new job because of a crazy person.

It's possible. I live in Japan and I go to the various Tokyo Pokemon centers sometimes and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They all work there because they love Pokemon.

He had been stalking her, filming her, followed her to her home, and carried around a dangerous weapon in violation of the law while doing so. Charge him for plotting murder and lock him up for a decade. By the time he's released she probably would have been working elsewhere since the Pokemon Center is just part time.
>>
>>59105459
It's true though

>>59105391
cry about it. It was quite literally her own fault. She knew he was stalking her and even went to the police, but instead of moving or even to trying to find a job elsewhere. She decided to keep working as the receptionist for her love of pokeyman and died for it.

She didn't die for Pokemon, she died because the police didn't properly handle the situation. You're focusing on Pokemon because that's where she worked but it's irrelevant and the same applies to any job. What if she were a specialized doctor and there's only 3 hospitals in the city that have the department she could work in, would you still be saying it's her fault or would you put the blame on the police for releasing a guy who already attempted to murder her previously?

He likes Pokemon, he would see her at the other Pokemon center at some point. Use your brain. Each Pokemon center has exclusive goods and they rotate event weekends so if he likes Pokemon and lives in Tokyo than he probably visits all of them, especially if he's into the cards (which he clearly was).

he would find out where she is anyway. there are only like 2 there.

If the police arrested him prior to all this and realized how much of a threat he was to warn her, it's a bit baffling that you can't just throw these people in a ravine and be done with it. If you can identify that this guy is going to likely kill someone and need to warn the victim prior, might as well just cut out the middle man and kill the guy first. If he had no priors or any run ins with the law, I'd understand it, but if all you can do is tell someone "Hey this guy is fucking crazy and will likely kill you eventually, so uproot your life and move somewhere else, change your job, change your name, find somewhere to live and hope the guy doesn't know anything about your family and you should be fine" is just fucking weird.

Yeah, I’m gonna trust the actual police and judges to make the right decision on this one rather than random NEETs on a gooning forum for a children’s game. There’s plenty of people who will kill you for crazy shit like that guy. But you can’t arrest them for a crime they haven’t committed. Yeah it sucks but it’s a necessary evil.
>>
>Niggers crying about one unfortunate death in a foreign country
Japan is still safer than most countries. Trying to make this a big deal doesnt change that fact.
>>
>>59106037
Gotta admire how dedicated of a fan she was. Put her life on the line for Pokemon. Probably not a great job, given that it’s a part time cashier position. No benefits and shit pay. Just did it for the love of the game.

You do realize you can be convicted of conspiracy to murder in America, even if no one dies, right? Moron.
>>

He followed her home, left creepy messages on her door, secretly filmed her, and carried a dangerous weapon while doing so. They should have charged him for what he DID do. The problem is the cops are too lenient in Japan and everybody knows this.

>Probably not a great job, given that it’s a part time cashier position. No benefits and shit pay
According to the hiring page on the website the staff at the Pokemon center make 2.5 million yen annually which is really good for a part time job. And this is Japan, so she would have full benefits because it's the law (guaranteed PTO with a minimum of 10 days per year guaranteed by law, affordable healthcare, etc) and that's on top of the fact that workers rights are very strong in Japan which gives us job security (we can't be fired willy-nilly).

I know you're going to punch that number into a currency converter and cry about whatever that is in USD, so I'm going to remind you that cost of living is wildly different in the US and Japan. I live in Tokyo and I earn 5 million annually, my wife works part time and we own a house and are able to raise 3 kids on this income, but in America we would be dirt poor. 2.5 million yen I'd enough that this girl was able to afford to live by herself in the largest city on earth, it's not bad for a 21 year old part timer. By all measure, it's a good job for someone of that age.
>>

Because he was carrying a knife, which is illegal. And that by itself is enough to lock someone up for 2 years under Japanese law. If they charged him for that plus the other crimes he committed than he could be locked up for longer.

Transferring or finding a new job is a pain in the ass. She was probably just hoping it would work out. Definitely retarded, but understandable I guess.
>>
>>59106021
I don't think we do minority report type stuff anywhere in the world yet, even if someone is implicated as being a potential threat in the future already. Unfortunately it's one of those things where there's no easy solution. Psychopaths run the world but they should really be in jail, same idea. The justice system of a modern country is mostly as good as it could be within a democracy that is as good as it good be. Proposing something else means proposing a totally different set of values that are mostly not compatible with the concept of human rights
>>
>>59106149
Probably not as much of a pain in the ass as getting stabbed but yeah I get it. We all make mistakes. Just sometimes people die from their mistakes.
>>
>>59106134
I'm not poor. I own a home of above average size (4LDK. The average is 2 or 3LDK) without a loan in the largest city on earth (Tokyo), I have 3 kids, all of my bills are paid for, I don't have any debt, and I have 2 years worth of income sitting in the bank because my cost of living is so low that I'm able to save a lot every month, plus investments split between me and my wife. I can buy whatever toys I want (I'm big into collecting retro games, 3d printing, have a high spec modern gaming rig, and play music), eat out or go shopping without having to worry about it breaking the bank. Plus I have 20 days of PTO annually (which rolls over, so I have 35 days stocked up), affordable health care, and my city is safe and walkable. Try again.

It's true
Once there was a guy trying to pick pocket a phone out of the bag of the girl I was with and she caught him reaching in the bag, and he was saying he was just trying to close it so it wouldn't fall out
So of course I had check him and drive him off
And a different guy was getting handsy on the dance floor trying to cuck me
I also had one of those Nigerian guys grab me at first to get my attention as I walked by and I told him to get his hands off me, and he did it again "ayy you should be appy I touch you!" So I had to check him too..
And then got in an actual shoving match with a victim weight nip bouncer that didn't like where I was standing and literally tried to push me away

I don't know if they feel like they can get away with shit like that with most people and don't get push back or what

Since you're from a shithole same as me I assume it's similar, theres an understanding don't start problems there won't be problems

And that's what makes me think they get away with this shit in Japan and weren't ready for someone prepared to instantly escalate the situation somewhere nobody wants it to go

You described a pickpocket, a guy at a club, a Nigerian, and a morbidly obese bouncer. Pickpocketing is extremely rare in Japan and is almost always done by Chinese tourists, clubs tend to have Westerners and nikkei trash, Nigerians aren't Japanese, and obesity is also rare here so probably a foreigner.
>>59106369
>they're a part of japanese society now because diversity is our strength
They literally segregate themselves away from society and everyone hates them.

If you're telling the truth, you either have awful luck or you went into some gaijin gulag. You should come back here and enjoy the real Japan instead.

I read all your posts. You guys are just outsiders who know nothing about anything, but want to have an opinion for some reason.

This isn't really about Pokémon. As someone who lives in Japan, this is a symptom of the weird socialisation between men and women here. Japanese men are really cowardly and don't know how to talk to women at all, or treat them. They feel entitled to physical touch just because they're a man and they're attracted to a woman. The sex industry is absolutely rife; oji-sans are regularly paying to fuck young Japanese girls so there are none left to start a good family with. That drives the young men crazy, despite the fact that a lot of them put up with or encourage it by buying things like jav and gravure. I even knew a guy who's girlfriend was doing compensated dating with an old guy, and hinted that they were probably fucking, but it was okay because the oji-san gifted the couple some really nice Japanese sweets.

Kind of. They're either all sluts and will proudly tell you about their boyfriend as they're making out with you, or they're just asexual otaku.

That culture shown in your image is a little cherrypicked, but it's also not rare, either. But they're conditioned into it by the culture.

Why are men always killing themselves over women? The monkey brain is truly acurse

After my first bad female betrayal I learned my lesson definitively and permanently to never deal with them again, and despite all of my disadvantages, I'm still alive at 26. Dont get involved with women unless you are a chad who can treat them disposable

If you've ever worked a retail job, you'll know every job has had problems with weird guys hitting on female workers. Some girls handle this by being polite, because they fear upsetting the guy. That meek conflict-avoidance could easily snowball into a "ok I'll get coffee with you in public that way you stop asking". I could see that being more common in Japan, where cussing out a customer is more of a social faux-pas than being a perv

Not everyone is autistic. Normal people just want to visit the toy store and be personable. Having worked at a shop near an airport where we dealt with lots of tourists, there's a real energy to meeting new people all the time. Most people are normal, unlike yourself. And a lot of them are smiling kids.
>>

>>
>>59105334
realistically, how easy would it have been to stop the stabbing?
If I was there I would have probably snuck up behind him and grabbed his wrist, disarmed him and pushed him to the ground. He was probably an unfit incel and his rage would have made it harder for him to notice me sneaking up behind him.
>>
>>59107492

We codify that into law and you get executed for giving someone in public the ick because you are fat, don't smell the best and post on /vp/, can use google maps without problems, all of which are massive red flags you agree are enough to throw someone into ravine.
>>59106131
>Because he was carrying a knife, which is illegal. And that by itself is enough to lock someone up for 2 years under Japanese law. If they charged him for that plus the other crimes he committed than he could be locked up for longer.
He wasn't open carrying and brandishing the knife like a Nubian scholar, doctor engineer in Bongladesh, unfortunately Tokyo Metropolitan Police doesn't have a superman with Xray vision who immediately stops and searches then detains every carrier of sharp objectives
>>
>>59107492
>to stop the stabbing?
Realistically?
Not very much so unless you're trained secret service because it takes very short amount of time to stab someone, and normal people aren't constantly on lookout for knife-weilding attackers, so there's nothing really to stop aside from the dude's suicide, you have to consider what kind of blade is being used. Go sign up with a PMC or a reputable security contractor that does bank escorts and not Paul Blart's Mall Cop College.
Watch Surving Edge weapons as a primer.
>>
>>59107503
Nice try, Hirokawa. None of what you said are signs of a killer. If I were stalking you, leaving weird notes at your door, recording you in secret, and had a knife in my car, you would call the police too.

Personally I blame TPCi. I went through a similar stalker situation (fired a guy and he crashed out and found where I live and threatened me and my family). Company immediately took me to the courthouse and. Got a restraining order on him, then offered to send me anywhere I wanted in the world to lay low on their dime. Then when I got back I had a security guy in a van outside my house for like a month. What I’m hearing is pokemon cheaper out and someone died. Seriously, don’t they make enough from overpriced cardboard and low quality games to protect their staff?

The store this happened in is the one that sells mostly collectibles like plushes and figures
