Is anyone else disappointed with his las evo? he's round and funny biped with his little sombrero, but then evolves into an ugly realistic crocodile recolorwould've been hilarious if he was like a fire ludicolo with maracas, why even bother giving him a sombrero on his second stage if the final evo has nothing to do with it?

Crocalor established the nest on its head for the fire chick in the next evo. The face of the first two stages clearly establishes a bald/exposed skull, which is present in the final stage. It's not a great set of evos. Overly complex patterns, extraneous lines. Number one problem is the dead eyes and expressionless, rigid face. Just not a very marketable design.

Crocalor is worse than Skeledirge but the whole line is terribly mid, I feel like when Pombon's line is fully revealed and it remains quadrupedal, people are gonna stop pretending they ever liked this guy, since all its fans feel like they're coping with its mess of a design.

There was always wiggle room built in too because "based on x" is different from "absolutely follows x" which is how a mythical fire mouse can excuse a non-mouse final evo, how a fire dragon can excuse a lizard/salamander first stage, how a fox can be close enough to a dog for the same company that treats a hyena as close enough to a dog. If it were revealed to have been true, nobody would have been surprised except for literal retards. It was always arguing intent, not how well they fit.
