I just caught a Shroomish but I don't want to do the Spocus Punch meme (I just recently did that in my last playthrough). How good is Breloom with plain vanilla fighting moves like Close Combat and Sky Uppercut or whatever he learns?

Breloom is a really good mon that happens to be a REALLY GREAT mon if you put up with Masuda's autistic decision to not make its best tools conveniently accessible. But it's just an outright upgrade over Sceptile in the Gen III games and even better than it in ORAS. Its only fundamental weakness are Bird types
