Modern Emerald team, after beating Steven.
My third run of Sour Crystal. You can access the Helix/Dome fossils in the middle entrance of Mt. Mortar and the one you don't pick ends up in post game. There's a scientist who resurrects fossils in the Ruins of Alph as well as another scientist who can teach mons the "gen 1 only moves" in exchange for Opal Shards. You unlock more moves by catching Unown. On one hand, it gives the Unown catching more purpose but if you want moves like Rock Slide, I can see it becoming a chore on repeat playthroughs. Misdreavus is in the HGSS style Safari Zone and you can find Electabuzz on Route 39.
Five Ludicolos and a Dragonite
Playing Emerald for good ol' times' sake.I forgot how fucking long it takes to get a Water Stone in this game.
thoughts? base platinum at the elite 4
>>59118671Beebee stabs me right in the autism, 10/10
>>59117480Just beat Fire Red Rocket Edition
OP here, should I give Hyper beam or Headbutt instead of Tackle to Venusaur? The rest of the movesets worked before the semi-finals...
Playing heart gold/platinum dual game. The team is Togetic, Kirlia (male for gallade), and Rotom. However I found a shiny golbat while looking for a regular steelix, not sure if I want to pass on togekiss for crobat
My post game team in Fire Red (on the switch)
>>59118739Are you able to trade with RBY? Body Slam would work better. If not, I'd put Return on it. Hyper Beam was only good in gen 1 and Venusaur isn't fast enough to take enough advantage of Headbutt's flinching. Hidden Power might be useful depending on the type.

>>59118937Dual game is using the same PID and SID and trading the team back and forth? What progression will you follow?
>>59117480Just caught Articuno
>>59120737>Dual game is using the same PID and SID and trading the team back and forth?yes>What progression will you follow?>I did violet gym with totodile to get togepi egg>Grinded it up to togetic and beat Bugsy>then transferred to Platinum and beat Roark and Gardenia, grabbed Rotom and Ralts.>back to Johto for Whitney, and Morty, did the lighthouse quest to open up the Johto Safari Zone and grabbed Steelix (+shiny bat)>sent only Steelix, Rotom and Kirlia to Platinum for Fantina, now I'm heading to Pastoria for a Dawn Stone. Team is level 25-29
>>59121094I forgot to say, if I do decide on keeping Golbat/Crobat, I might use Porygon(2/Z) as well. if I keep togekiss I still haven't decided on a 6th member.Otherwise team would be:>Togekiss/Rotom/Gallade/Steelix/Weavile/Kingdra(?)vs>Crobat/Rotom/Gallade/Steelix/Weavile/Kingdra(?)
Dark Violet, Celadon CityI think my team is set. Just want to grab an electric type to replace my Meowth. I'm feeling Magnezone but I also have an Eevee in the box.
About to do ghost totem in ultra sun. Shitmon run with a lot of restrictions, I get my ass kicked hard every single major battle (and sometimes on regular trainers), a lot of mons straight up one shot most of the team at this point
OP here again, should I evolve Jigglypuff right away in my Blue version (with the Moon Stone found in Mt.Moon)?
>>59122086Rest, Body Slam, and Double-Edge are all TMs. The first two are in S.S. Anne. If you don't plan on teaching the rest of your team any of those moves, use the Moon Stone right away. I personally wouldn't waste the Body Slam TM on it because Wigglytuff doesn't hit very hard. There are plenty of mons that can learn it and benefit more from it. Seismic Toss could help keep Jigglypuff more viable while you wait for Body Slam by level up. Hell, Seismic Toss may still be worth keeping even after learning Body Slam. Wigglytuff is one of the better users for Double-Edge due to STAB and it's high HP stat. Rest compliments it by healing off the recoil.
>>59122169Update, I used the Moon Stone and gave Mega Punch and ThunderWave as TM to Wigglytuff.
Me and the boys walking into the pokemart
>>59122484ThunderWave was a good idea considering how slow Wigglytuff is. If you have the patience and money to spare, perhaps consider getting the Hyper Beam TM from the Game Corner since this is gen 1. Even a Wigglytuff could hit pretty hard with STAB Hyper Beam. If you get a knock out, you won't have to recharge.
>>59120737If you're thinking of doing it yourself, when setting up the file I suggest goving yourself a full pokedex (especially in playinum where it's tied to accessing the postgame), a bike, a squirt bottle, and all the pokeballs The bike and squirt bottle can .ake wntire sections optional so you don't end up too overleveled. But the early game definitely has a lot of opportunities to over level, but by the time you're at the end things should have averaged out
I don't feel ready for taking on the Elite Four yet...
>>59125333At those levels, you're more than ready, especially considering this is Blue version where the Elite 4 has far worse movesets. It'd be easy even if you were playing on set with no items in battle. Lance's dragons won't even try to use a damaging move on your two poison types due to the AI choosing their Psychic moves, Agility and Barrier. Gengar is also immune to Hyper Beam.
