Honestly, gonna give Blaziken some credit, he was usually depicted in-game as always crouching, still beast-like and a biped like chickens or at least he was during gen 3-5.
Then Infernape came along, ok... he's a monkey, makes sense he is humanoid but even then, the fucker is ALSO kind of leaning forward, like a monkey, using his hands for support as well, but THEN comes along the fucking pig, fully 2-legged and with a straight back, that is when shit TRULY went down even if Blaziken was the one who started it.
Don't get me started on Meowscarada, probably my most hated starter.

I wholeheartedly believe Blaziken's design was changed from the proto-creature that was later split into the Blaziken and Latias we have now because they wanted to give the anime's animators an easier time animating Blaziken beating the shit out of Charizard during the Johto League Tournament so they could shill RS.

I can accept it being naturally popular due to being a fire type, a unique type and being a strong and fast mixed attacker for the casuals to flock to. I can't accept it being singled out as the sole Hoenn starter to get a Mega in XY and for it to get Speed boost while Swampert and Sceptile get Damp and Unburden.
