What are /vp/s thoughts on regional forms? Love them, hate them, indifferent to them? I personally love the idea, though many of the examples haven't been great. I would almost say it peaked in the same gen it was introduced in.

>>59126265In theory they're better than megas, and much better than a poorly designed new evolution (like Rhyperior) since that pretty much permanently ruins a pokemon. Worse than alternate evolutions since those are easier to use in different games. And having said all that, most of the individual designs of regional forms have been terrible.

It’s a good idea I think. The forms themselves are hit and miss. Should not coexist with megas, pick just one.

I think with how bloated the pokedex is, it's a simple way to both put a pokemon into a region, and maybe even a new type or evolution based on the region. I think it's a neat way to keep older pokemon fresh

I like regional forms. I think it is interesting to see how a pokémon adapted to a new region and new niche.
