It's the worst of the 3DS games, and by a lot. Unfortunately that still puts it above SS as far as 3D titles go. Hell, it might have been better than DP when the online worked.

No, but it definitely helps. Unfortunately XY has the worst of both worlds with the dogshit rivals. Even BW's worst character that takes up screen time, Cheren, at least had an idea of progression as a character. In XY only Calem/Serena barely get over that low bar and there's 3 other entire characters that have much less going on.
