When did Pokemon games peak for (You)?
>>
>>59128718
Gen 2, personally. Maybe gen 3 in terms of fun because of playing it with friends.
>>
>>59128718
Platinum, until I later realized it was Emerald
>>
i played all the games and the shift from GBA to DS was mindblowing. DPPt and HGSS will live rent-free in my mind until i die
>>
>>59128718
Gen 4-5
>>
Gen 2
Nothing can beat 2 regions AND a fight with the previous MC

Pokemon Unbound & Following Renegade Platinum.
But if we're talking official games: I know it's a cliche take and I'm sure I'm heavily swayed by nostalgia, but I really do think the DS era was the best. The franchise still had it's old soul while the games themselves were more well made than ever. Those games just have a wonderful, comfy aura to them. Their amazing post-games helps too.

Gen 6
>>
>>59128718
Gen 2 3 or 4
>>
>>59128718
In terms of gameplay, White 2. In terms of almost everything else, HeartGold.
>>
>>59128718
Gen 3, but gen 2 is very close behind. Gen 3 edges it out with the world, the framerate, and the Gamecube games.
>>
Definitely not gen 3
>>
Gen 1
>>
>>59128727
Same here, except I stopped playing at Gen6.

HGSS wins in gameplay too if you ask me. Nothing compares, there's literally always something new to do every day
>>
>>59128727
I remember playing Gen 4 for the first time and being blown away by the graphics. The freaking Valley Windworks. Then I was blown away by Gen 5.
Stopped being blown away by Gen 6
>>
>>59128718
i've played since gen 1 and i think the peak was gen 4.
they feel like the games you can put the most hours into, provide the most reason to keep playing after the main game.
was also the last generation to have that classic pokemon feeling.
>>
>Gens 1-4
I play

>Gen 5
I sleep

>Gen 6-7
I peak

>Gen 8-9
Back to sleep
>>

>Then I was blown away by Gen 5
Same. I was blown away by how much of a categorical downgrade it was.
>>
Emerald
But only after replaying it after seeing how bad it got after gen 4
Secret bases and poketch calls were the peak
>>
>>59129976
The underground cavern mini-game was peak if you're going to count those.

gens 3-4

or when i was a kid
>>
>>59128725
Spbp i do prefer Platinum though
>>
>>59128718
Gen4. Platinum and HGSS, with of course the compatibility to transfer up from Emerald. Those games were so special it's hard to describe, and clearly hard for GF to replicate. Gen5 was alright but everything from Gen6 onward feels bad
>>
>>59129960
hi yawnfag
>>
>>59128718
HGSS and XY
>>
>>59129984
Yes i did enjoy the underground in 4
However
For my money
Getting called up while doing things by other trainers talking about how their own journey is going (yes i know they dont move) is fucking peak and unsurpassed
>>
Gen 3-5 because that's when the spinoffs were the most alive
mainline is ass and modern games are mobile slop
>>
>>59128718
gen 2, 3, 4
>>
>>59129875
I'm mostly referring to TMs being unlimited use in White 2. And Move Tutors being moved to Shards instead of BP. Those two things make teambuilding a lot more approachable.
>>
>>59128718
Platinum, though PLA was a strong sending-off point for me.
>>
HG+SS
>>
>>59130684
That's fair. I'm not the biggest fan of the Unova games but those were good changes
>>
>>59128718
Platinum through B2W2.
>>
I feel crazy because honestly growing up I never had a gen I thought was "the one". I started at gen 1 and just enjoyed all the games about equally until I got Y and decided the series' new direction wasn't for me. Nowadays I feel like when I see pokemon discussed people are having heated gen wars even outside of here.
>>
>>59128718
Emerald.
Now I think it's B2W2
>>
Gen 2-3, because everything was better when I was 10

I liked gens 4, 5, and 7 as well but the circumstances were different as an older person
>>
Gen 2 (Pokemon Colosseum and Emerald) but Z-A recently became another favorite.
>>
>>59132530
3 not 2 lol
>>
>>59129875
Idk man, HGSS is still suffering from not updating most movesets so you're still running around with a bunch of shitters 80% of the time, as far as gameplay goes White 2 is just better, from the perspective of someone that enjoys Pokemon battles a lot.
