I never liked them. I always preferred the regis only able to be composed of physical material that could be moulded into shape, and these guys breaking that for quite generic and simple designs, with unique abilities different from the other regis... it just seems lame. Oh, and the name discrepancy. Would have been better as standalone mons. Not even legendaries, really, just change their eyes to be less regi-like and just make them weird rare mons and they'd be better for it.

Things like wood, gravestones, sand, seashells/coral, and other stuff a person could reasonably cobble into an idol. An electric regi should be made of magnetic stone or something not just raw floating electricity and should be named Regilectric. Dragon bones aren't a bad idea but it doesn't look like it's made of that at all.

And I don't take issue with energy crystals, when Game Freak have been dabbling in them since at least Gen 5 (Gems, which seem to be nothing but concentrated Type energy, given they give a Same Type boost to an attack that shares typing with it in the vein of affinity items like Magnets, Charcoal or Plates) and leaning further into the idea energy can be concentrated and crystallised (tera shards).
