WiWa or WaWi seem to be the most straight forward abbreviations, why wouldn't these work?
>>
>>59132192
how is that more straightforward than just WW?
>>
>>59132192
do you say ReBl, GoSi, RuSa, DiPe, BlWh? no, of course not. so why would you say WiWa?

Much like Sword and Shield, the only reason people insist on Winds and Waves is because they're autistic and want there to be a clear distinction between version pairs if they start with the same letter.
It's the same reason everyone calls the Sinnoh games "DPPt", but for some reason no one EVER had a problem with that and it's ONLY when SWSH was conceived that everyone started having autistic meltdowns.
>>
>>59132208
Even in Gen 4's case, it's not DiPePl or HeGoSoSi, or derivatives of that. Pt isn't the second letter. The weird push started with Sun and Moon, which didn't stick, and has since been tried on every other game with SS being the only one that remotely stuck.
>>
>>59132213
And the only reason it happened with SM is because terminally online idiots were "uncomfortable" with using the same acronym as Sadomasochism/Slave-Master because "they might see porn in their search results or have their algorithms poisoned", but everyone else knew how stupid this was, that's why it never stuck.
Comparatively, it DID stick with SWSH because they needed a way to tell the versions apart from each other when abbreviating them, since in their pair, they have the same starting and ending letters, meaning SS and SDSD don't work.
And it will stick yet again with WIWA because WW and WSWS doesn't work. If not WIWA, then it would be WNWV or WDWE.

I have new abbreviation fatigue
>>
>>59132192
WAWI WIWA VERY NICE
>>
>>59132208
No I think it's because ORAS happened to be fun to say so now Xitter tries to force a quiekchungus pronunciation of every game past that.
>>
>>59132223
why do you need to distinguish between versions in the abbreviation? nobody is going to unironically say "hey guys i'm getting pokemon W", you fucking neanderthal
>>
>>59132240
I already said it in my original post, because of autism. It's not about having the easiest way to refer to a single version, it's about having the easiest way to categorize a version group, especially when talking about our lumping multiple version groups together.
>>
>>59132245
and why would WW be somehow incompatible with this, given that it's not actually avout the individual version names? explain in your own words why it doesn't work.
>>
>>59132245
>my favorite games are GSC and BW
>this is fine
>my favorite games are GSC, BW, and WW
>anon has autism melty for some reason
incomprehensible schizophrenic behavior
smogon will call it WW btw
>>
stop spamming retarded frogfaggot
>>
>>59132198
It's easier to say wiwa rathan double yu double yu.
>>
>>59132225
king in the castle, king in the castle!
>>
>>59132346
Nobody says Are Bee Why, Gee Ess Cee, Are Ess Eee, Dee Pee Pee, Bee Dubbleyew, Bee Two Dubbleyew Two, Okay they do say Ecks Why, Ess Emm, Ess Ess or Ess Vee
>>
>>59132192
Why not just WW? It's even shorter.
>but when you say the letters
You wouldn't. The words "winds" and "waves" are one syllable and do not need to be abbreviated in speech, only in text.
>>
>WaWi
Don't ever say this on a latin american country
>>
>>59132259
All the more reason /vp/ will use WiWa then, just to spite smoggies.
Kojo/Yawnie will even use it as a signal for who's a fanfic meta enjoyer, derailing threads to call out campaignshitters solely because you dared to say "WW" instead of WiWa.
>>
>>59132192
WinWav
>>
>>59132192
WiWa works, everyone who hates it are contrarians and they want their abbreviations to be canon. WW doesn't work well because there's too many things that mean WW and it's confusing.

>Gen 1
RGBY
>Gen 2
GSC
>Gen 3
RSE & FRLG
>Gen 4
DPPt & HGSS
>Gen 5
BW & B2W2
>Gen 6
XY & ORAS
>Gen 7
SM & USUM & LGPE
>Gen 8
SwSh - IoA/CT & BDSP & PLA
>Gen 9
SV - TM/ID & PLZA
>Gen 10
WiWa

Just use these and move on, it's not a big deal.
>>
>>59132616
>everyone who disagrees with me is X
>don't be X, just do what I say
>it's not a big deal
WW looks like wind and it looks like waves, you're just a conformist bootlicker wanting to be the licked boot
>>
>59132616
And you're a fag too
>>
>>59132198
Because those abbreviations don't differ from eachother.
>>
>>59132616
The Gamecube zillennials will just need to cope that WW now means Pokemon Wind/Wave and not Windwaker in 2026
>>
>>59132616
The P is redundant in regards to the Legends games because it just means "Pokémon".
It just comes off as Legends players overcompensating because how of how different they are to the other mainline games.
>>
I just like saying SwSh and WiWa, it's fun
>>
>>59132208
Pretty much this, WiWa is the new SwSh.
