I'd argue YouTube was always pretty dominant in meme culture. Of course 4Chan was more influential in the 2000s, but by the 2010s a pretty good chunk of popular memes came from YT. Honestly Tik Tok is bigger than YT now. The only reason thst site's slop isn't regurgitated on here is because the demographics of this site and it do not align at all.
