Where did you go this week?I went to ggex and got dark, ghost, steelI have the Pokemon but they're not leveled up enough. Hoping Dorkrai can get me out of the jam if he procs enough
>>59136775Went to GGEX also.First roll was Flying / Poison / Steel which was unacceptable, rerolled and got Ice / Poison / Fairy.I just cooked dinner, have had one crit and at 540k strength. This is good pace to hit Master ranks by Thursday or Friday, my team focus is skill boosted cooking and ingredient gathering, with Wigglytuff healing and Walrein gathering berries (and the occasional ingredient magnet). It really does hinge on luck though with two Pokémon boosting tasty chances. I might alternate my Vaporeon with Mew if my ingredients storage caps out.
>>59136775Went to Lapis since I figured Expert would probably hamper my Latias Down gains. I have few skill types for the area, but it's not really going to matter much for the first week anyways.Looks like they also managed to integrate some event props into the background.

I didn't know why I get so many Calm Rufflets...
I purged a lot of inactives, pls add frens
Have 5 openings9500-6088-7647Already added everyone that's posted since last thread or we were already friends
Does anybody know if the event music is an original song or a remix? I only know that it's not from gen 3.
Purged a bunch like a year ago and kept forgetting to repost my code here.16 empty slots.
You probably ought to post your sleep name along with your code, because you have to make space before searching a friend code. Chances are someone already had you on their list, so they have to make space beforehand to even check.
End of day one, only one crit on dinnerDecided to use two whistles to barely reach the cutoff point for 8 spawns day 1, will hit ultra 4 in the morning for enough down to redeem for a latias incense which I've bought a master biscuit forAfter tonight I'll be high enough strength to have a shot at a natural latias encounter, so I wanted to incense on the only night I know I didn't have a shot at a natural encounter. Also less chances for a shiny to appear on the base latias
>>59137840Pretty sure all the songs in this game are remixes. I couldn't tell you what it's based off of though, because I stopped playing mainline before Latios/Latias even showed up.
Not bad for no prep, but I did get a couple lucky meal crits. There really aren't many bonuses power-wise, so I imagine this week is going to be pretty standard. Gardevoir is going to pull up a lot of leeks and corn though, which is nice.
>>59137840>>59138774It is indeed a remix, but it's not from the games. It's from the Pokémon Heroes film OST, "Search for the girl" or "Mystery Girl".https://youtu.be/PHTCoCpl9dAhttps://youtu.be/MT2EiDnQfIM
>>59139094Oh wow, it's been too long since I've watched M05. The only movie BGM I remember is the ocarina song from M02.Wasn't expecting Sleep to use any movie or anime content, but they had a bit that was obviously in Altomare in the Direct teaser and M05 is apparently the most popular in Japan so I can guess their line of thought
>>59139110I remember strongly disliking M05 when I watched it on TV years ago, since the story was really dissatisfying; bad people do bad things and a terrible upsetting thing happens with no bittersweetness. I don't remember the actual specifics though.Maybe the Japanese version was better executed? I got "what the fuck are you doing" vibes on the level of Rose from Sword / Shield.
>drifloon not stockpiling>mimkyu not berry burstingit's more over
I really can't wait to get rid of these, but you can only use them in Amber...
with all this sleep practise, one day ill be so good at sleeping that ill sleep so long that ill never wake up
>>59139772>tfw out of honey
>got my first Latias this morning>only collects tomatoes>>59139772>drifloon not stockpilingMy piss balloon refuses to give any ingredients
>>59141123Ah, I completely forgot about stat comparisons. And then I made this, but also completely forgot about event bonuses applying automatically on raenon. Whatever. This still gives a decent picture despite having +25% skill trigger and +1 ingredients per pickup.Looks like its energy recovery can even compete with Gardevoir, but Latias will be more inconsistent since it has to hit Pokemon individually. It's also a bit tricky, because unlike the dogs which barely activate on a good day, Latias can make better use of skill-related subskills and natures, more similar to Cressalia. Because Latias's skill is part Extra Helpful, Latias is really going to want BFS in case it hits itself. As it stands, it can probably be pretty decent with a good roll, but it's still going to require Latios to meet its full potential.
>>59141442Actually, sorry I misread the skill energy readouts, because that's not how it works at all. In these calculations, Latias will output a cumulative total of ~300 energy to random members, but Gardevoir is outputting 150 energy to the entire team (a cumulative total of ~750 energy). Given Dragonite and Altaria both have Charge Energy, Latias still might be fine as your sole energy battery on a full Dragon team.
>dedenne full with 1 pip left after dumping 2 great biscuits even though it was hungry
>>59143208next time you see it it'll be shiny
>>59143208>didn't buy ultra biscuitsNGMI
>>59143208>>59143591This is always my fear with feeding Pokemon. Or at the very least that it'll be hungry next time it shows up with no way to take advantage of it. That's why if I ever leave anything with extra pips, it'll have at least 3 pips left to be filled by either a Poke Biscuit crit, or just a plain Daily Biscuit.Overfeeding Pokemon always feels bad, so there should be some type of overflow compensation. The way I imagine it, if a Pokemon was going to become full from the base value of the biscuit used, some of the crit would carry over to the next bar... no more than 3 pips, I imagine.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to be worth using Latias in the second week. Even with the extra berry, its skill mostly amounts to less than 60 extra helps. While its own gathering is OK, your Latias is going to be at such a low level that most other Pokemon should overtake its berry power even with it under ideal conditions.
>>59147188It's not like there's a mechanic where sleeping with a Latias on your team has bonus effects either. So far that's only applied to Cresselia during that Vs Darkrai event, in the form of a Drowsy Power multiplier. Now there's an idea for a new main skill; Drowsy Power multipliers. That would definitely be something to restrict to a special Pokémon. It would function just like Tasty Chance S; applies to your next sleep session and resets during sleep research. An aside, if you're waiting until later in the week to use your Latias incense like I am, 2 star sleep requires Master 13 at Greengrass or Master 7 at GGEX.GGEX M7 has a higher strength requirement than GG M19, so if you're in this to try and discover all three Latias sleep styles you may want to consider going to regular Greengrass next week.GGEX is potentially better for increased chances at encountering Latias through improved research yields, allowing you get more incenses.
How does the bonus at ggex work? I always thought the first berry got guaranteed 2x power and the other two had a random effect. Is the first berry random too?
>>59148336GGEX works as follows>One of three effects is chosen, which apply to all Pokémon that gather Snorlax's favorite berries:>Berry effect where favorite berries are 2.4x stronger rather than 2x stronger>Ingredient effect where helpers gather +1 ingredients, sometimes +2 if they're ingredient specialists>Skill effect where skill trigger chance is increased by 1.25xThese bonuses can also stack with event bonuses, but are weighted against picking bonuses that overlap with the current event.E.g. this week's event features bonus skill trigger chances AND bonus ingredient counts for skill specialists, so GGEX visitors are more likely to get the berries effect than the other effects. (I got berry effect).>Primary favorite berry gives same-type helpers a 10% helping speed bonus and +1 main skill level>Secondary favorite berries have no penalties or special bonuses>Pokémon that gather non-favorite berries get a 15% helping speed penalty>Weekly missions feature 20 hour sleep missions, where 20 hours with the primary favorite type gets handy candy S, and secondary favorite type gets type candy S (technically better reward because they give more candies overall)>The master 3 mission incense reward is apparently decided by your primary favorite berry (though my mission this week contradicts that)Primary and secondary favorites doesn't affect berry strength, but it does decide if one type gets special treatment, and it decides what missions and candy rewards you get. There's also nothing related to Snorlax's dish request, just the usual thing where you're less likely to get the same dish request two weeks in a row (but it can still happen, or an event might have a fixed request). The phrasing of GGEX effects when you review them from the Map screen, also suggests that future Expert maps may have different effects. They may balance them around the fact that future maps will probably have fixed favorite berries (likely matching the current maps).
>>59148511Damn I thought the first berry was guaranteed 2.4 power. No wonder I've been so shit, I always get the damn ingredient bonus instead. This is the first time I've gotten 2.4 berry power and I'm on track to hit master by tomorrow instead of Sunday
>50% crit chance>No critFuck's sake, I'm already at Master, but this is still annoying.
Day 300 of my quest for a shiny female ralts.Seems like it will take more than a year. Since unlocking the lakeside I've been camping there every week besides special events that omit it, and only caught 28 ralts so far.Being able to swap out Darkrai for Mew has been a huge boost, not the least because Mew has always been one of my favorite pokemon. Not only is Mew getting me the right berries, my pokemon are now being flooded with energy rather than sapped of it, and I'm even getting tons of candies too. I keep a Kirlia on the field partly because of her Helping Bonus, but mostly just because I'm stocking up on Ralts candies.Part of me is hoping some events will omit Lakeside soon. I'm at 79% styles seen, and need 28 more to get to the next rank and they're not coming easy.
Currently at 5/9 ET crits so far
>>59149225Nice, I've been hunting for a dedenne for months. I'm close to giving up
>>59148904At the rate of 1 shiny per month, that could be a very long goal. When you unlock Expert Greengrass, there's an additional shiny chance there, by which point you may already have the silver badge for 40 captures. And gold is at 100. Luckily, it's all supposed to stack.I already have a level 65 Gardevoir and tons of leftover candies. Since Kirlia tends to be pretty common on Lapis, you'll end up with a lot of candies that way too.
>>59147875The only way you're going to get increased research material from Expert is if your other islands already cap out their spawns and fail to distribute Drowsy Power effectively. I have a feeling past M20, there's some kind of fall off or something that basically stops the game from spawning only 3*+ or fully evolved Pokemon... or maybe the change in spawns are just less drastic than the buildup to that point. But given an equal score, chances are your other islands will have rarer Pokemon and rarer sleep styles in comparison, either matching or beating the Expert bonus for research materials.
>a natural Latias spawnWell, that's a first. It ate 4 special biscuits without any crits, so I guess that evens out the cost of exchanging for an incense...
>Two meals at 50%>One at 60%Still no critthe fuck is even the point
>>59152461I just had dinner fail at +70% (80% or 1/5 failure rate), shit happens.Remember it's an additional percentage over a 10% base chance.Tasty Chance S increases cap at +70% because Sunday has +20%, making 100% extra tasty meals possible on Sundays only.
>>59152749Yeah I know, but you also get days where it'll crit at 10-20% twice, it's just annoying.
>>59150671I expected it to be a challenge, but I don't think I really appreciated how rough of a shiny hunt it was going to be. Kinda surprising that one of the tougher shiny hunts is in a game all about getting good rest.
>>59152995Yeah, it's the worst when you try to tasty max a Sunday yet turn up empty handed, and all your stacked chances are burned off on Monday. And then, you somehow get a full odds tasty breakfast or something. My cooking has gotten tricky this week, Heracross and Vaporeon together with a Walrein have gotten too good at getting lots of ingredients, but too much of the same few and too few one important ones.I had to bench Heracross and Dedenne because I can't even raise my tasty chance again until the next crit happens.Upside is 4/5 odds my Overgrow Avocado Gratin breakfast is gonna be huge. I just wish that dish didn't need 41 fucking milk.
>>59153645Since it's tied to real time on top of being only one per day (generally), it really stretches things out. Technically you can be doing 2 sleep sessions per day, but that can really negatively impact your progression since you need to be above a certain threshold to find rarer styles/Pokemon. You'll also only have a daily biscuit for your first sleep of the day, but that doesn't really matter for shinies because it only takes a Poke Biscuit anyways.
>>59152091You know, I always thought Legendary spawns gave you more candies. 11 is still more than usual for a 1* style, but I thought they started at 20.
downloaded this last night, what the fuck do I do in this besides sleeping, I'm lost
>ANOTHER natural spawnThis is certainly a first. Unless they drastically increased the spawn boost this time, I've never even had a Legendary show up without an incense during the actual event. >>59155987During the day, you just tap on your Pokemon every several hours, but at night it really is just sleeping. You get more to do during the day as you progress and get more Pokemon and abilities, but that's essentially all there is. The most exciting part is really just waking up to see what spawned for the day.
>>59156808I haven't seen a single one yet.>>59155987read the instructions.>go to sleep>wake up>give pokemon biscuits until they become your friend>assemble a team>feed them three times a day>repeatYou'll learn about ingredients, berries, candy, natures, types, skills, subskills, incense, and other items as you go.Make sure you add 50 friends.
>>59155987Like the other anon says, you'll figure out team building.Pokémon fall into one of three roles; berry gathering, ingredient gathering, and skill usage. Each contribute to strengthening your Snorlax in different ways; a stronger Snorlax together with your measured sleep score, results in Drowsy Power.Higher Drowsy Power lets you discover rarer sleep styles and Pokémon, and the goal of the game is to complete your Sleep Dex.Better sleep styles yield more resources; candy, dream shards, and research EXP, that in turn allow you to build stronger teams by powering them up (similar to Pokémon Go's candy and stardust system). That is the basic gameplay loop. There's two things I recommend to new players:1. Get an "Energy for Everyone S" healer ASAP; it's the pillar of most teams for most of the game; early options include Wigglytuff and Sylveon (evolve them from Igglybuff or Eevee)2. Don't use your premium trial ASAP; it's better to save it for when you've saved up enough sleep points to spend in two separate months. The strategy is to use your two week premium trial near the end of the month so you can access two stocks of the premium exchange, and get two main skill seeds (and other useful items like biscuits). You need these specifically for that Energy for Everyone S helper, to prevent your Pokémon from getting tired during the day, which causes a sharp drop in Snorlax strength gains if left unchecked. It's better to evolve them from their earliest stages because evolution grants +1 main skill level. That's the free to play strategy, if you decide to go premium, I personally find it pretty worthwhile for the relatively low daily cost.
Well, surprisingly I'm actually on track to reach master 20 this week at AC on salads, but it would require me getting at least 2x crits today and tomorrow, and 3x crits on sunday. I don't have the tasty chance mons to guarantee every Sunday crit, however next week I'll have both my holiday spheal and my dedenne at full power with an extra 5% area bonus. Hopefully I can roll curries and have my crustle carry
22x2 energy and 7x2 helps certainly sounds good, but almost half of the helping power will come from Latios. The bonus also increases with skill level, so you can't just leave Latias uninvested. 4x2 helps is quite underwhelming as even an optimized skill trigger rate isn't very high for Latias, maybe like 5-6 times per day.
Finally got a really good Ralts worth replacing my aging sylveon with. HB, STM, HSM with seed and Skill boosting nature is fantastic.and its female
>>59158514So Latias' Heal Pulse is equivalent to Energizing Cheer S except split across two Pokémon, but unsupported is slightly less effective than an unsplit Extra Helpful S.It's yet to be seen what Latios' main skill does or how its team composition performs, but it's assumed to be pretty good. Latias' energizing cheer targeting two Pokémon also makes it more efficient and reliable at energy recovery provided the "favors least energetic Pokémon" factor works as desired.A mono-dragon team of Latias, Latios, Salamence, Dragonite, and Noivern should be fully sustainable thanks to that, and Latias may potentially become preferable / superior to Shuckle for Amber Canyon.Shuckle is also slow AF and relies on high main skill chance, and doesn't benefit much from Berry Finding S due to weak bug berries. A BFS Latias by comparison with a greater helper speed and the strongest dragon berries, will really benefit from it and any self-activations.>>59158575That's a phenomenal Ralts, congrats anon.Inventory Up at 75 will help it perform even better too.Long term you'll still want your Sylveon, for Cyan Beach and for expert greengrass visits with fairy berries.
>>59158514>>59158754For further reference, with same BFS + HSM + STM + SKL^/ING v build, Raikou/Suicune/Entei do about 3 activations per day. Just by themselves at max skill level, they'll do 5 helps per activation per member for a total of individual 75 helps. If the team is mono-type, that boosts it to almost 200 added helps per day.Granted they're very different skills, but Latias will do about 5 activations per day, resulting in 40 individual helps, plus 22x10 energy distributed randomly. With Latios, the number of individual helps only increases to 70, but admittedly much easier to achieve and less taxing than fielding a mono-type team. Also in terms of individual helping power, Latias is about even with the dogs, having stronger berry power, but weaker overall ingredient totals. We can actually compare against Gallade too; Gallade has an additional skill level, but is capable of putting out around 80 helps just by itself (of course without any energy recovery).>>59158575Nice, grats. Depending how strong your Sylveon is, chances are Gardevoir could outperform it even with the speed nerf on Expert (in terms of energy recovery).
So out of curiosity, what are your Latias Down sample gains looking like?I went Expert Greengrass this week, and by Saturday morning I've reached Master 7 with 4m strength and earned 807 samples (spent 380 on three incense + one biscuit).I've had two Latias incense spawns and managed to befriend it in two encounters, with a 1 star and 2 star sleep style. I got lucky with the 2 star encounter since M7 is the bare minimum to see it.You need M16 to see 3 star at GGEX so that's out of the question, and I need to go to regular Greengrass next week to try for 3 star Latias sleep. My reasoning for GGEX was to try and maximise Latias Down gains, but I'm curious how it compares to regular GG, or maybe even LL or AC.Next week gives skill specialists +1 to berry gains and +5 to main skill levels, so I'm incentivized to go GG next week and reroll until I get water or fire berries for my Suicune or Entei teams (strongly preferably my BFS Suicune). My GGEX PB is 7 million though, I might approach that today but all of the extra tasty cooking I've pulled off might not compare to sheer Helper Boost berry farming. I also didn't get a great berry roll, I made do with Ice / Poison / Fairy so I could at least run my Walrein and Wigglytuff. A bunch of my team picks this week happen to have Helping Bonus that helps neutralise the expert helping speed penalty.
>>59158754>>59159345Its gonna be my new healer for sure, my sylveon I've basically used since starting in july 2024, it just had STM and skill nature, which was ok, but nice to finally retire it and let him rest after 4915 hours.>>59160319I've been on lapis, I'm at m19 with 4 meals to go (using a ticket to be fair), and I've currently got 578 down in reserve, bought maybe 3 incense and a biscuit?I've got terrible island boosts on GGEX and amber, so Lapis was the obvious place for me.
Got a inventory up inventory up BFS on 50 latias main skill up nature, should i settle?
>>59160605lol no
>>59160319if you know you're not going to get the rarest Latias sleep style, is it wise to hold an incense in storage for some week after the event where you'll have a high enough rank?
For whatever reason. Gardevoir is worth less dream shards, but gets more Latias Down than Meowscarda.>>59160319I'm on Lapis and I'm only at... 634 Down gained with just the "use 7 incenses" mission left to claim. I'm currently at 3.1m in a relatively normal week so far; no boosts or prep.
>>59161211Skill specialists have boosted downs, that was in the notes
>>59161072Yes, most of the time with these legendary events you can end up having a leftover incense. The idea is to hold onto it for when you have a best chance of getting a missing 3 star sleep style, like on a Good Sleep Day with very high drowsy power. Make sure to actually check the map, rank and strength requirements for the sleep style you need when doing this.If you don't need the sleep style, another popular thing is to use the incense together with an event that boosts dream shard gains, and a luck incense for loads of dream shards.Or similarly for research EXP.Or maybe you just, need to befriend another legendary because you haven't found a good one yet. That's my situation with Cresselia, and at some point I'll use my leftover Cresselia incense with a friend incense on a New Moon day where the chance of successfully befriending it will be better.>>59160403>>59161211It sounds like Lapis Lakeside could be just as good, if not better then GGEX depending on how well you're performing.Honestly I might've kneecapped myself with GGEX instead of going to GG or LL, because I wanted to learn into skill specialists.I'm still leaning towards GG because of my BFS Suicune team, and boosted Heracross / Dedenne procs.
>>59161480Wow that's petty hidden. It wasn't mentioned anywhere in the main notes aside from there being general bonuses for skill types.
>>59161655Yeah, I guess I go back to Lapis next week, even if there's only like one boosted spawn I'm looking for now.Afterwards really need to get my Amber/GGEX boosts up, so I can go to them for events if I need to.
Debating where to go next week. I'm looking for dedenne but it's eluding me. I did ggex and have hit master 3. I think I will forego cooking tomorrow and just build up my ingredients and a berry burst for Monday, but the question is where.
So I get to keep only the pokemon I maxed friendship with during cookies phase?
>>59164107Yeah, but other types of the same poke will keep the friendship score on different days if you dont get them in one day.In other news, i keep buying the expensive latias biscuits by accident lmao
>>59164107Each morning, you'll wake up to some pokemon around your camp. Whenever you fill the hunger bar on one of them, you catch it.The bar is shared between that pokemon species, so if you feed a pikachu a biscuit and don't catch it, the next one you see will have that progress (doesn't matter if its another pikachu on the same morning, or one the next morning)
>>59164107Yeah, friendship progress continues between sleep sessions like the other anons said.Importantly, only the first two biscuit feedings are guaranteed. Upon the second feeding, it's 50/50 each time if it will still be hungry or get full.Due to how that works, it can frequently be preferable to give 5-pip Pokémon one single Poké Biscuit, so they're at 1/5 points on the next encounter. This is because you have limited biscuits to go around with only one daily bonus biscuit. Some mornings will have a better selection of potential recruits, others will be duds, but having more Pokémon sitting at 1/5 is better for securing new Pokémon with either:>One premium bonus biscuit (+4)>One bonus biscuit (+3) and one regular biscuit (+1)>One regular biscuit if hungry (+3), followed by another (+1)A similar strategy applies to 16 pip Pokémon for premium players, getting it to 4/16 or maybe 8/16 means you've better odds of befriending it if it shows up hungry the next time.Spread out how frequently you spend sleep points on biscuits so you don't run out, sleep points are needed for important things like main skill seeds too if you play premium.A lot of the later additions as the game has progressed in the past two (nearly three) years have been heavily skill focused, and every legendary Pokémon has been a skill specialist (and mythicals are "all" specialists).
Ended up seeing the 3* latias last night and WOW that's a lot of shards
Eh...
So that was a wild morning>5 hungry, none of them Latias (2nd time this week)>Two shinies; Ralts and Minun>Latias went from 0 to 30 taking a premium bonus biscuit, dragon biscuit, and 4 great biscuits just to mega hit on the last biscuit>Befriended 5 Pokémon including the Noibat and Toxel>All trashThe Minun has maximum ingredient finding rate and is mono-honey, which is amusing but not going to achieve anything. At least I have a shiny MInun to go with my shiny Plusle now?
So, are any legendaries actually good? I’ve got one from every event and it seems like they need to have perfect skill rolls to even be somewhat usable.
well, probably not gonna find a better latias. A BFS would be fantastic, but for just skill triggers this seems a fantastic roll. xp down is a bit rough I guess but I really shouldn't complain>>59166428they generally are really hard to roll good ones, are huge investments, and are generally niche. The dogs are good for berry bombing, cress seems ok, and latias is looking pretty average until we find out what latios does.
>>59163656If you want a Dedenne, Lapis is probably your best choice. You also won't suffer the Expert speed penalty, so it should be an easier go around.I think I might try Expert just because I already did Lapis this week. So provided I get a 3* Latias tomorrow, I won't have to try too hard for it in the coming week. Not to mention we get a 1.5x bonus next Sunday, which should help for at least some decent payoff of the week no matter how tough it might get.>>59165958All my hungry procs this week have gone to Swablus which I already have 2 fantastic versions of now, and Meowths...
Guess I'm sitting at M19 on Lapis without any stronger boosts. Any cooking boost easily would have bridged the gap.>>59166428Legendaries are long shot rolls, but they are the strongest possible additions to their intended teams. Like the dogs aren't the strongest by themselves, but they'll continue to scale both with level and any further additions to those types. Just imagine a dog team with fewer "fillers" that are only there to fulfill the skill condition.Cressalia too. In a Psychic team, it's the strongest possible contributor, scales well, and will continue to scale well as level caps and more Psychic types are introduced. And even with the upside that its team members don't necessarily need to be berry or ingredient types to contribute to the skill.
Is Snorlax power randomized each week? I finished this week with 56k power since I started like on Friday but now this week started with Snorlax that already has 313k power.
>>59167628some two week events start the 2nd week with a boost to power. Enjoy this week.
>>59167635too bad I just started and have no clue what to do with this nor items to take advantage of it kek
>>59167663Just take it to mean that you'll get some expedited progress really early in the game. You'll just see more Pokemon than usual and get more rewards than usual, but other than that, it doesn't really change what you've been doing. The only thing is that you might start to encounter more Pokemon during your research that are already evolved. You don't need to worry about trying to capture them since you'd just be using up extra resources, so just focus on the first stage Pokemon to help build your team. This boost is actually a lot bigger than its been previously. I think past events have only given like a ~120k power boost.
>>59167740what about the current event, should I get Latias incense and feed it the latias cookies?
>>59167904I'm not sure how many Latias Down (event resources) you'll be able to get since you just started, but you might as well try catching one. If you do, it'll probably be the strongest thing on your team for a while. Or at the very least, you'll get a lot of progress on one in case you see it again later on.Since you probably don't have much Down, it will probably be better for you to just save up as much as you can and exchange them on Saturday and Sunday night for the Incense and Biscuits. Ideally, you use the incense to summon one, then feed it at least 2, if not more, of the special Latias Biscuits. There's a chance it will get full after 2 biscuits (same for all Pokemon), so try to plan on at least 2 days to use incenses. And since you can use 2 incenses per night (but only 1 can be a Pokemon Incense), it's also a good idea to also use a Friend Incense if you have one. The odds are kinda low since it's random, but on the off chance it affects the Latias, that could be a lot of points and biscuits saved.Since you can access the exchange shop during feeding time, you don't really need to exchange for the special Latias biscuits ahead of time. The exchange shop is also open a couple days after the event ends, so don't worry about having to use up all your Down by Sunday.
>>59167956currently I have 1 latias incense and 2 latias biscuits so I guess I can try it this night
>>59167027My spawns this morning were dire.A hungry Meowth and a hungry Eevee, nothing that interesting besides my 2 star Latias that got full after 13 pips.My Greengrass roll this week is perfect; Ground / Bug / Electric. My OGPP team is already full BFS and level 62-65, so I'm gonna ride on berry strength all week with more extra tasty meals.Pawmot and Dedenne are gonna be gathering 3x berries, Heracross will be 2x berries, thanks to this week's +1 berries on skill specialists.Already at Master 8 after breakfast, thanks to the huge starting boost Snorlax gets. Funnily enough that automatically completes a number of strength based missions at GG.I wonder if that means you get more mission rewards if you reroll greengrass?
>>59167963The recommendation is to save your legendary incense for later in the week, because your increased Snorlax strength and rank with higher drowsy power, improves your chances of finding the rarer, more valuable sleep styles.Better sleep styles reward more dream shards, candies, and research EXP; also for this event more Latias Down samples. There will be future events with "Event Exchanges" too, they're not limited to legendary Pokémon events.Importantly, this week we have the New Moon event.Every month for three days you get three sleep research sessions of Pokémon that won't get full as easily.Use your Latias incense on either Thursday 16th, Friday 17th, or Saturday 18th, and your Latias encounter on the following morning will be easier to befriend because you can force feed it more biscuits. Also very importantly, the final day of the Latias event (Sunday 19th) has 1.5x Drowsy Power, which will make it even easier to find Latias' rarest sleep styles.I'm trying to get Latias' 3 star sleep this week. On Greengrass Isle, the requirement for that is reaching Master 19, which requires 2.6 million strength. I'm a long term player and can reach that pretty easily now, but newer players will struggle to reach that goal.
>>59167977hmmm interesting, thanks for the info bro
>missed a 30%, 55% and 70% tasty chance todayMan I got impatient and did meals too early for breakfast and lunch, missed triggers that couldn't have made it happen. Dinner was just bad luck.
Survived long enough to get here.
Is this an alright starting team for a newfag? Riolu will have Helping Speed M at 10
>>59168505fug I forgot the pic like a retard
>>59168509It'll do fine, the first few weeks of the game hardly matter at all and you'll struggle cook. You have three skill specialists, this week they'll have bonus main skill levels when their skills activate, that'll let you see their full potential (before evolving anyway).Next week they'll be back to their normal main skill levels which'll either be level 1, or maybe level 2 or 3 if they have the "Skill Level Up" silver or gold subskill.Getting a shiny Igglybuff this early on is also very nice.Helping Speed M is a universally good subskill and is a direct big upgrade on all Pokémon.Since Riolu is a skill specialist, it will also benefit from Skill Trigger subskills. Its role is to generate Dream Shards that you need to power up Pokémon, or expand your cooking pot size.Larvitar is an ingredient specialist, so it wants Ingredient Finder subskills. For ingredient specialists, you want to pay attention to what ingredients they unlock at level 30 and 60.These two subskills are only useful on their matching specialities; Skill Trigger on a berry or ingredient specialist usually has a negligible effect that isn't work investing in.If you find a Pokémon with the gold subskill "Berry Finding S" or "Helping Bonus", that's one of the very best and usually worth keeping, at least this early on.
>>59168563>Getting a shiny Igglybuff this early on is also very nice.didn't even notice it's shiny lmao
>>59168663Oh yeah make sure you pay attention to that in the morning lolPeople have missed shinies because they didn't see the sparkle animation, and there's no shiny icon shown anywhere in the game.Shiny Pokémon are always hungry and always a guaranteed friendship with any biscuit, so throw them a regular biscuit whenever you find one.
Well, not looking forward to trying to level this thing to 75 but I literally could not ask for a better shuckle
>>59168807Wrong pic fuck, that was my first shitty latias I encountered.THIS is the shuckle.
Still got a crit, but 3 points went "wasted" and it used up my cheap biscuits. Dunno if I'll have enough to points to really try for another.
>>59168812Literal perfection once it hits 75, moreso than the shiny one I got.Shuckle relies on Skill Trigger more than Helping Speed so this works well.
unironi detained for past 5 days which is why i didnt play. got 3 slots open. i dont expect you to play more than once a week and i never go this long without playing unless something out of my control happens.7830-3857-1731
>>59168995Sounds like story time anon
>>59169191it was a bad experience to put it mildly. just know psych wards are predatory and modern medicine is about exploiting the weak for profit. wouldnt surprise me if hospitals work with the judges to make 48 hour stays last a lot longer via technicalities just to break patients down more.
Ironic considering I just left Lapis to go Expert. Sadly no Sceptile to really take advantage of the event, but I can work with this. Finally get a chance to use my Toxtricity, even if I had to pump 670 candies into it this morning.>>59169495Shit man, sorry to hear that
I would need 1,250 Down in order to secure:5x Latias Biscuit2x Latias Incense (discounted)1x Latias Incense (standard)1x Main Skill SeedYep, I'd need quite a bit of luck to get another and still have my leftover incense for after the event, plus the Main Skill Seed. At an average of 100 Down per day, I think it's actually possible if I also end up buying one of the biscuit packs.
Did they hidden nerf Main Skill buff this week? All my Pokémon went crazy last week. Now my 2 Dedenne only proc'd once 12 hours ago, and my god-tier Pawm only proc'd 5 times compared to the 10-15 times it usually did last week.
>>59170897It felt like that this morning, but it's always on and off. Like last week my Meganium was triggering like 6-8 times a day. Today it only triggered maybe once or twice and it's not even part of the event.I wish I had rolled Dark so I could run Darkrai and see how it'd do.
happy 1000 days day to those who celebrate
>>59170491It's pretty likely you can earn 80+ samples a day, 100+ if you're using a daily Latias incense.I looked at my stock and realised I can use a Latias incense every day from Tuesday, and then keep one spare Latias incense for the future. That comes at the expense of not getting every last biscuit though. I currently have 589 samples with 100 pending from missions. The 6 remaining incense will cost 870 samples, whilst I can get 1250 samples worth of biscuits if I need them. It's better for me to try and roll hungry Latias using friend incense, GCT, and event bonus for a minimum 3/10 chance (though it's failed me every time so far).My last Latias encounter got to 13/30 pips, if I get a hungry encounter I can guarantee befriending it next time (3x6 + 1), if not a two-encounter friendship can be guaranteed using 4+3, and then 4+6.>>59170897My Pawmot had a terrible time yesterday, and I had to add in my Shuckle and use some berry juice to fix the situation. After that though Pawmot has been doing fine, and my Heracross and Dedenne aren't struggling. It's just luck though, sometimes skill specialists can struggle for a bit.
>>59171746>My Pawmot had a terrible time yesterday, and I had to add in my Shuckle and use some berry juice to fix the situation.Shit's happened again. My extra tasty chance hit +65%, so I swapped out my Dedenne. Once it hits 70%, Heracross' Bulk Up won't trigger so you can't get the ingredients.
>>59170491>went to Expert and only got 50 Down on my first nightEh, maybe it's not possible for me since I chose Expert. Unless it really ramps up later in the week, I probably won't hit that threshold. I wasn't very lucky with hungry/crits for my past 2 Latias, so I wasn't given too many breaks in my spending. I did however manage 2 natural spawns somehow, but that's the difference between and incense and 2 biscuits...I think by Friday of last week, I was basically capping out with mostly 3* styles on Lapis. Maybe the 1.5x on Sunday can give me a big payout.
I'm surprised how few other Pokemon I've caught this and the past week so far. Even if there are some OK options in the diamond shop too, I haven't been using that many biscuits in the first place. Usually I'm pretty stained on my monthly biscuit allotment too, but I've got a decent buffer still.
man if only it had 1 skill trigger sub or nature
This makes more sense, both thematically and functionally, but it continues to bring up questions about further Mythicals being added.
>>59173537I feel like Noivern needs a lot more than just BFS especially since it wants its skill maxed. BFS + full speed can actually compete with a skill-focused BFS build, but all sets still want those Main Skill Seeds.
I dreamt that I woke up to find my snorlax hadn’t gone to sleep because it sneakily levelled up but what was odd was my phone didn’t overheat like normal. I accepted I just wouldn’t have a high sleep score, although I used a latias incense so at least that spawn was still guaranteed Woke up for real still unsure how long snorlax had been asleep but turns out it was fine
>>59173706Eureka seeds being a per-mythical resource is the tricky part, because any future mythicals would make powering up the next mythical more difficult as they fight for special appearances. The way they handled the New Moon event this month was a massive fuck you to Darkrai, with nobody having any reason to go to Snowdrop Tundra, and by extension nobody will get any Eureka Seed progress, or even any Darkrai candy through research letters.I wonder if they might make future mythicals occur around times of the year? Like Shaymin being a spring time Pokémon. They would have to abandon per-mythical seeds if you can only encounter Shaymin maybe three times a year, and rethink how you befriend them if you have so few chances and then make you wait an entire year for another chance.Darkrai and Mew had entire events structured around getting your first and only one, and then they enter regular rotation where late-comers get their chance to befriend it. Future Mythicals will probably be like that.>>59173920I seem to recall someone claiming BFS is enough for Noivern to be very good, but you need to invest main skill seeds no matter what.
>>59174252Making them to a seasonal rotation would be way too harsh. Since they're separate species, you'd have to complete their friendship progress with only 3 appearances in an entire year. The simplest method would be to add Mythicals to the normal pool, but still guarantee them during Full/New Moon events. It'd be up to RNG, but they would technically all be available. It's not like Legendary Pokemon are much better in terms of being able to actually encounter them, but we've kind of just put up with the fact that you won't see them without incenses.
which pokemon would be the best for me to use right now? That's pretty much all I have
>>59175259Given the ongoing event, Skill specialists are being given a LOT of extra power, so you probably want to be using those. Right now they pick up an extra ingredient whenever they get ingredients, an extra berry whenever they pick up berries, and are getting +5 to their main skill whenever it activates. In terms of power and priority on your team, I think you'd want:Mareep, Psyduck, Pawmi (or Igglybuff), Riolu, and Pikachu, probably. The last two you could easily swap out for anything, like if your favorite berries match something else.
>>59175259Damn, honestly bust out mareep, Psyduck, eevee and your choice of igglibuff or pawmie. Eevee will probably be enough to make ingredients non stop for you this event, just not the ones you need for dishes. Might also consider running Growlithe and Riolu
Not the first ground type I would expect. Also looks like it's being introduced during a cooking event, so there's a good chance it's an Ingredient type that can get Pumpkins. There's also a slight possibility it's a skill type with Ingredient Draw instead.
New gave me +31 pot size but I’ve got hardly any ingredients
>>59176711Guessing that's from Mew's metronome or something? You don't need to fill the cooking pot every time; filler ingredients only contribute a small amount of strength that is only boosted by your area bonus (and final dish strength multipliers during events).Recipe levels only boost the strength of the required ingredients, so it's more important that you're able to make recipes consistently.Meaning if you can't spare the ingredients you shouldn't use them as filler.
>>59176711Mine activated Moonlight and gave itself 44 energy...I thought Mew would actually be pretty useful this week since it could proc some strong power skills, but it seems like they would be few and far between. It wouldn't necessarily need the EXP levels since it's not relying on berry power as much, but Metronome is more for fun than it is strong. On a side note, I only got 50 Down from research last night. It's so over...
>>59176711The pot size is a trap. You ignore it and just make what you can produce. Better to consistently cook 3x a day and make a powerful dish, than make one meal and be forced to make low powered dishes
New Moon New Music
>>59176446After looking at the Pokedex for ground types, there are actually deceptively few, either mono or primary. Even among the primary ground types, probably half of those would better represent the opposite half of their type in this game. That pretty much leaves: Donphan, Hippowdon, Mudsdale, Sandaconda, and... Stunfisk?
>>59178832Stunfisk is Ground/Electric or Ground/Steel for the Galarian variant.
>>59178101Interesting...>>59176446Siick i love sandslash
>>59172074Double raichu
>never got a usable dog or cress>two great latiasno bfs but why couldn't I use this luck elsewhere
>>59179011Yeah both BFS, and both level 65 now.The first one I've had since the first year, but I've had them both for two years already. The first one has ironically been a good ingredient farmer for a while and helped make a lot of dishes possible when I was still running it in lieu of proper berry specialists. A level 50-60 something that doesn't gather favorite berries, can still be somewhat good compared against a level 30 berry specialists that does gather favorite berries.Especially when Raichu is as fast as it is.That's never the case any longer and I only run Raichu when I need electric berries now.Have reached 3.4m (M20) at Greengrass by Thursday bedtime so that's pretty cool. I might find 3 star Latias sleep now.
>>59178972I meant more that they could be representative of Ground. But I guess even for Stunfisk, the secondary type is the thematically stronger part of each design.
Bad week for a master 20 attempt, only 5/11 dishes have gone ET, currently sitting at 4.5m at AC before cooking Thursday dinner (at 50% ET, have failed 50, 60 and 70% this week)I need to average 50% crit rate until Sunday and then hit all 3 meals Sunday if I wanna have a shot at m20 this week, otherwise I'll have to break the bank for some whistles which I REALLY don't wanna do, or wait until salad week and run it back then
Well, I guess that's what a Plus/Minus activation looks like. They do a little electro ball above their head as it activates.
>>59179156dang
got Latias today, is she worth using?
>>59181293Everybody's first latias( and other legends/mythicals) are the same in terms of skills and nature, which is to say pretty bloody mediocre, and being a sklll mon it needs main skill seed investment on a good skillset to be good. Latias has the additional problem of needing latios (who we know nothing about) to be better, so is even harder to want to invest in.If you are a completely new player she might be ok to use if you have nothing better, but until we see latios she's absolutely not worth huge investment.
What's the one website to see if you should keep trying? 4th attempt
>>59182277raenon or neroli in the OP.raenon has the percentile "grader", but that's not a very informative metric.Yours is definitely usable, but Latias isn't particularly strong at the moment. It will get better once Latios shows up, but then you'll have to judge them together. I think ideally since Latias has Extra Helpful procs built into it, BFS becomes pretty important.
>>59182277>>59182490Something worth mentioning about the legendaries is that the Helper Boost trio had a significantly lower skill trigger chance. As a result of that, helping speed increases had a more significant impact on their daily skill trigger count than expected.Suicune's base skill trigger chance is 2.6%, which can hit a maximum chance of 4.8% (+2.2%).Latias' base skill trigger chance however is 4.9%, which can max at 9.05%. (+4.15%).This means Latias relies more heavily on skill trigger increases, which is the normal for most skill specialists. If a skill specialist is slower, such as Shuckle, they're more reliant on skill trigger increases because they get less benefits from helping speed boosts.Latias' main skill chance is much higher as they're factoring in what the main skill does. It's a less potent main skill per activation (compared to Helper Boost), so they're granting it more activations. This is preferable for its healer role anyway.
>>59182490>>59182577Raenonx says it's in the 90s percentile in terms of procs until level 65 when it falls off a little. I think I'll catch one more just for the candy and shard and keep an incense if I don't get the level 3 style, but I don't expect to be able to catch a better one anytime soon
>3* latias appears without incense>on thursday nightThis event is going crazy and I like it. Feels so much better than just farming materials to get all your incenses and biscuits.
COME ON. I've still got a huge hole in my roster for any Pokemon need for OGPP.>>59183338I don't really know why I went to Expert for this week, but staying on Lapis would have been the smarter choice to actually get Latias and more event rewards. The Expert "bonus" really hasn't kicked in yet and it's already Friday. 3* and 4* styles are just hard to come by en masse, not to mention the number of skill Pokemon actually spawning seems less than last week despite the boost and increased pool.
I think the new Pokemon are coming out too fast.
Plus actually has a slightly different animation... Well, more like color. Minus seems to be blue electricity, but Plus is yellow. Not a great screenshot, but it's hard to catch the right moment with irregular activations.
>>59179909Cool
>>59184417It seems to be the normal rate as usual, with 1 line per month. The only disruptions to this are Legendary events and new area introductions, which we just got Amber after a decent while and its accompanying 3 lines. It's nice that we've actually been getting Pokemon with evolution lines recently though, instead of last year when they just kept stacking single-stagers. It's harder to care when you can barely encounter them, let alone catch them in any reasonable amount of time.
>Use Luck and Latias incenses last night>3* Mew and 2* Latias for 84k shardsBeautiful
Got a SHINY sneasle with decent subskills
So research appearance sequence goes from hungry, to the immediate +3 of a mythical... Can't tell if a Mythical can show up hungry yet.
who got the ditto mew style? I can't even find it online yet
This week is sort of throwing me for a loop. Even though I get like 50-100 extra pot space from skill triggers, I barely have ingredients to actually make any decent meal. Even right now I'm just going to save up to try for Sunday meals instead of cooking on Saturday.
I don't think I'll be able to get a 3* Latias on Expert tomorrow. It looks like you need about 5.2m raw power with the 1.5x bonus to actually reach the threshold.
So, what's the drowsy cost for latias' 3rd sleep style? Raenox says master 19 but that fucking site already failed me for the 2nd style
>>59179469Update: only need about 1.3million for master 20, 3 crits guarantees it but I might be able to do it with just two.
>>59187794On a normal island (Greengrass, Lapis, or Amber) it's 2.44m Snorlax power. Reminder that this is the minimum to encounter it, not a guarantee, even with an incense. There's a 1.5x boost on Sunday night, so you'll only need a bit over 1.6m. On Expert, this balloons to 7.78m, or around 5.2m with the boost.I thought there was a better way to see the estimated spawn values for a single Pokemon on raenon, but I can't seem to find it anymore...
Got Mew and Togepi today, are they useful?
>>59188868Mew is a long term investment, requiring a lot of cookies to get seeds to reroll skills, so its absolutely something not to aim for in the short term.Togepi has metronome which randomly rolls from every skill in the game. It has no consistency and isn't useful, but is probably good for a laugh on quiet weeks.
>Use 600 diamonds worth of great biscuits and an ultra biscuit>This>>59187721I've been at M20+ for days and have been stuck at 2 star sleep. I even had 5.5m strength last night.Tonight's my only shot at 3 star sleep. but I'm at least already past 6m strength.
>>59189125what If I am a newfag
>>59189377I use my mew for eggs and candies. Its also a lot higher level than most of my other mons.t. been playing for like a month and a half
>>59189428thanks fellow newfag, I've been playing for like 2 weeks maybe
>>59189377>>59189428As a plain pokemon with no investment at low levels, it'll be better then some random pokemon I guess. Feel free to run Mew but basically it and Darkrai whenever you run into it, are basically huge biscuit sinks to make a good late game mon, and you can easily roll/reroll into something useless for it. So there will be a point that you'll realise you need to leave it to the side and use more reliable mons when you catch themThis is from reddit and 10 months old, but the recommendations are still very sound.
>>59189903>>59189377>>59189428fuck sure would be helpful to actually post the linkhttps://old.reddit.com/r/PokemonSleep/comments/1kyemjt/an_intro_guide_to_minmaxing_what_pokemon_to_catch/
What a terrible night for a curse. Really getting no help from crits or hungry procs.
hit M19 on GG with the last berry before sleeping. took some ing tickets to cook properly but had too many laying around anyway. also finally unlocked GGEX with this although i'm nowhere close fielding a proper team because berries are my weakness. my OGPP bonus is at 30%, should i continue boosting this or suffer through GGEX?also hoping i finally get to see one of other two latias sleep styles ffs
>>59189428Mew granting bonus candies is a pretty useful thing yeah, and is sometimes overlooked when people want to build a team with a strength builder or a role like extra tasty chances. The chance to sometimes grant +2 / +3 / +4 candies is locked to higher main skill levels though, which needs a lot of main skill seeds; and two more if you ever reroll Skill Level Up M.>>59189906>https://old.reddit.com/r/PokemonSleep/comments/1kyemjt/an_intro_guide_to_minmaxing_what_pokemon_to_catch/Something to add to the Skill Specialist part. You get a premium subscription trial with two weeks access to the premium exchange. You can use this to get two main skill seeds, provided you've saved up at least 3600 sleep points (you can get up to 2800 during the trial itself). The key part is to start the trial in one month so that it ends in the next month, and this will enable you to get something like a Wigglytuff with Energy for Everyone S Level 5; assuming you start with an Igglybuff.>>59190062GGEX will really expose your weaknesses in team composition, since you need to rely less on ingredient and skill specialists since they get nerfed if they don't gather the favorite berries.Long term players by this point were largely focusing on building teams around a dominant favorite berry for each island; water for Cyan Beach, Fire for Taupe Hollow, Grass for Lapis Lakeside, and Electric for Old Gold Power Plant. Also Ice for Snowdrop Tundra I guess, Walrein is very good. This was because things like the Kanto and Johto starters and Raichu are really fucking good at their respective berry or ingredient roles, and being pretty easy to power up. This compounded with the introduction of Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. So when Expert Greengrass rolls favourite berries like Poison, Ground, Rock, Steel, a lot of players are often unprepared because there haven't been great options for these, or the available good options are unreasonably difficult to get ready (like Onix and Steelix).
>>59190062>>59190126A bit more on GGEX.There are only four types of skill specialist Pokémon with Energy for Everyone S, which everyone has been using over Energizing Cheer.Fairy has Wigglytuff and Sylveon, Psychic has Gardevoir (and Cresselia to a minor extent), Electric has Pawmot, and most recently Bug has Shuckle (with Berry Juice). If you manage to get all 4 types ready, it's only a 4/18 chance (2/9) that your visit to GGEX will have an uncompromised healer. If you extent this to include Energizing Cheer helpers, that only adds Water type with Slowking, Grass type with Leafeon, and Dragon type with Latias; there's redundancy with Wobbuffet being a psychic type. That's up to 7/18 chances of having any skill specialist healer.Non-skill specialists that can heal include things like Blissey, Ninetales, and Comfey, but you shouldn't be running them as such. They can't double-bank skill triggers like skill specialists, and their skill chances are much much lower.Overall I would say prioritise OGPP for the time being, since getting the area bonus there up higher will matter a lot. OGPP has some of the most important things in the game like Dedenne for extra tasty chance boosting, Farfetch'd as a Leek farmer, Sceptile / Braviary / Mimikyu as Berry Burst specialists, Vikavolt as a coffee farmer (with other options like Aggron and Luxray), and Gourgeist as a pumpkin farmer.
>>59189144>M20+ for daysOn what island? I hit M20 on Greenass this morning, but this at the cost of a good camp ticket and pumping snorlax with clodsire ecclairs all week. How do you people manage to reach M20 so early on?
Hit master 20 on Amber Canyon, only reason why I got here was because of having two level 6 extra tasty mons because of the skill bonus. Definitely need to invest main seeds in this holiday spheal if I wanna attempt m20 on GGEX, which is the last island I'm missing m20 on. With this recent master 20 run, I have 4 I can invest at the moment, so I can get the last one for it next month.I think I'll actually wait a bit until attempting a m20 run there, need to stock up a LOT of ez travel tickets to guarantee a good roll. I'm not quite sure what that roll will be at the moment, need to do some calcs on raenonx first. I could very easily see it happening on Latios week 2
>>59190175You forgot to include togedemaru and the newest addition latias to that list of energizing cheer healers, so we are officially at 50% of the types having a skill focused healer
>>59190175While E4E batteries are important, I don't think it's actually necessary to get more than a good Gardevoir or Pawmot. Pokemon with Energy for Everyone or Energizing Cheer are generally not great gatherers in the first place, so getting double berry power from them isn't as useful as it is just to consistently have the rest of your team at high energy. On most of my weeks on Expert, my Gardevoir functions perfectly well despite the 15% speed hit.>>59190981Max area bonus, level 60+ Pokemon, recipes that are also level 60+, cooking crits, etc.Just playing the game normally gives you a lot of things that will help increase your score. For most seasoned players, 3.5m is a pretty standard week you could reach without any event bonuses, tickets, or any fancy cooking. Since berry power scales up a lot with Pokemon level, getting past level 55 or so really starts to ramp things up. At max area bonus and level 60+ Pokemon, you could get well over 500 power per favorite berry.
>>59190981At Greengrass, I hit M20 by Wednesday evening iirc.I finished at 6.9m strength this week, a new GG PB.Would've been higher then my GGEX 7m PB if my lunch crit, but alas.>>59191007I didn't forget Latias but did forget Togedemaru's primary effect was energizing cheer.Togedemaru's proven difficult to get too, but the option exists.>>59191528The 15% penalty to your healer can be pretty harsh if you don't have a top-tier healer, so getting coverage does help, and that extends to the other islands. E4E healers need that momentum and expert mode can wreck that. It's more than just getting double berry power, unless you happen to have a good healer that's BFS and has the inventory increases to support to. I've got a Pawmot like that, ideal for a Raikou team actually.Speaking of level 60+, it's been a year since the level cap was raised to 65. We're due another cap increase, even if it's only to 70.
>>59190126>>59190175thanks for the writeup, i'll stick with OGPP for now because i still miss all the stuff i want from there.on another note, need some thoughts and opinions on two latias. i want to settle on one of them because realstically i won't see one soon at all1/4

>>59192343It's up for a even couple days after I think, Tuesday at the earliest. You'll get tonight's Downs from research, but you'll stop getting those from Community Research.>>59192164This one will be the stronger of the two. It's a little worse at first, but it gets ahead at 50. And it has more to look forward to after 50 even if that's a super long ways off. Skill up/down natures are stronger than S strength subskills, and M subskills are typically double that, so skill down nature + STM is a bit less than just having STS as seen in >>59182577
Going to bed with a wing and a prayer for a 3* Latias. I'll be barely over the threshold for Expert after the 1.5x boost.
>>59192343Yes, the exchange is still open. If you go to claim a dragon biscuit on your Monday morning feeding session (like I did for a hungry Latias), it'll give you notice that they'll convert to great biscuits on April 23rd 4am.I ended up having like 700 spare Latias down samples after claiming every available incense, so I got the main skill seed, a bunch of candies, and two friend incense since I'd used up a load during the event (for only the final Latias to actually get hungry).Last Latias encounter went from 0 to 20 for me. That means if I hold onto two great biscuits and wait for a New Moon, I can probably befriend another Latias.Oh, and I got the 3 star sleep style on the final night, and it only took 1 billion Drowsy Power. That's only the second time I've topped a billion.

No game makes me feel more emasculated than this one, ive been playing since the beginning and ive only hit m20 on gg and only once, my cope is that everyone is premium besides mefor the new players that dont want to be like me i think my problem is that ive been clicking on auto complete meal for all this time, so dont do this
This event was a total bust for me. Despite getting 2 natural Latias spawns, absolutely none are anywhere usable. Friend Incenses and random hungry always went to some random shit I didn't want/need, and no luck on random feeding crits for Latias. No decent other random captures either.Going to Expert for the second week was also a bit of a mistake. Despite PB'ing, I did end up with considerably less Down, at least 1-200 compared to Lapis. On the final night, I missed a 3* Latias with 850m drowsy power. Basically the only thing I got out of Expert were extra Dream Shards that I haven't been hurting for for quite a bit.>>59193971Oof, yeah don't auto-cook because it won't even make a dish depending on how many ingredients you have. I think it just skims off your highest ingredient quantities, so you lose out on stronger dishes you can cook and generally wastes more valuable ingredients. Cooking doesn't even take that long after you unlock a recipe for the first time, since you can just click to auto-complete the recipe provided you actually have enough.
>>59193037I couldn't afford the skill seed this time, compared to the dogs, I feel like this legendary event was harder. Spawns on my end were shit with no natural latias. At least I managed to get all 3 sleep styles>>59193971>m20 on gg and only onceTwice for me, I agree, the game is rather esoteric when it comes to skill activation percentages and how to rate pokemon, pretty much the core of the game
Level 16 at Lapis and missed out on 3* latias. My spawns got fucked up. Got 2 blazikens, a meganium, I think a Lucario and some other stuff. Got a hungry 1* latias which i was able to catch from 6 pops to completion. I think is about as close to perfection as possible. I will save my last incense to attempt for the 3* style in the future.

>>59194677Honestly i should have done this
>>59194459I don't think the event was necessarily harder, so much as it relied on skill specialists as opposed to specific Pokémon types.Admittedly playing premium can make a big difference there, but I was able to go for lots of extra tasty cooking thanks to Heracross, Dedenne, Vaporeon, and Mew.Second week, I actually got more strength gains from berries because I rolled electric, and effectively had four level 65 BFS berry specialists thanks to the +1 berry perk on my Dedenne and Pawmot.I got 7m strength at GGEX (85% expert bonus), and 6.9m strength at GG (75% area bonus), it was a strong performance and that was in spite of a lacklustre berry roll at GGEX.>>59194596I didn't get my 3* Latias until 1 billion Drowsy Power on the last night, but I saw someone in my research photos get 3* sleep on <350m DP.DP and spawns can be real fucky, like despite being really high you can get pretty shit spawns sometimes and no added insurance or guarantee of something meaningful.
>420If Latias is already showing up in June, then we've probably got around 6 weeks. The "Spring Festival" is coming on the 27th and leads into May, and they'll probably fit in another sub-event to lead into Latios. Last year we didn't have a Legendary, but we got a "Pokemon Growth" week AND a "Summer Festival" all around that time.
On taupe this week, hunting for wooper, trapinch, and onix on slumbering all week, which is easy to force with my go++I'm starting to run out of "necessities" to hunt now. For ingredients I just need either a honey farmer that doesn't require a mint, mushrooms and (more consistent than mono + ifm) avocados. I'd also like a better tomato farmer because my luxray is mono HB + HSM + speed nature but no ingredient finding, so it's a bit lacking overall. Otherwise I have fantastic mono or ABB farmers for every other ingredient (not including tails)For berries I really only need rock as I have at least BFS on every other type. Psychic I need to improve as it's just bfs and nothing else, and flying I have a BFS rufflet that needs 75 to really come online. Poison I have a bfs + HSM ekans that I anticipate being power crept eventually so I haven't invested. Otherwise my berry options are all pretty solid.
>>59196051is taupe the best place to farm wooper? i REALLY need one because i got my dogshit one on perma duty, mushrooms are so important
>>59196685Old Gold might be better just because there are fewer small Pokemon in that sleeping category. I guess it just depends on what other stuff you'd like to run into. While Quagsire is at the top of the Mushroom list with Spiritomb, you might actually get a bit better frequency from a Gengar or Vikavolt. At 60, they'll get almost as many Mushrooms in smaller, but more frequent quantities.

How should I be spending my snacks? If I feed pokemon every day I will run out of this shit real fast. On the other hand if I do it like that I will be getting a single mon every like 3 days
>>59200470You can't befriend everything unless you spend lots of real money, which isn't worth it. Ideally you should be befriending maybe one Pokémon a day, but you can strategically feed a Pokémon for a next encounter. For a five pip Pokémon, of which you'll encounter many, it's better to feed it one single biscuit to get it to 1/5 pips.On the next encounter you can guarantee friendship in two feedings, regardless of it being hungry. That includes non-premium players that use the 3 pip bonus biscuit. If you feed something to 4/5 and it gets full, this can feel wasteful when it shows up hungry in a future session.
>>59194666I have 2 more slots if anyone wanna add me
>>59200296Very nice.Lets see paul allens pawmot.
>>59200470It's a little rough as f2p early on, because you do only get enough Sleep points to exchange for 2 biscuits every 3 days. But Good Sleep events give you 1500 extra Sleep Points, which should barely get you enough to exchange for your 30 biscuit stock each month. There are also other random gifts of Sleep Points and other dev/event gifts, which should let you spend a biscuit every day with a little wiggle room. You can also get Poke Biscuits out of the shop's Daily Gift, but eventually you probably need to spend a handful of diamonds here and there to smooth things out too. Typically the most convenient value are just 250 Diamond bundles that come with 5+ Poke Biscuits. There will also come a point where you don't need to catch something out of your daily spawns every morning, so you just spend your daily on the best option and wait for the next day without catching anything.Best feeding practice tends to be: spend up to 2 Poke Biscuits on what you want, then finally your Daily Biscuit unless it gets full. This way, if you can't catch it, then you'll be able to take advantage of a hungry proc if it shows up next. For the most part, you do have to have some self control, because you are relying on your Daily Biscuit to pull most of the weight on any capture.
>>59200470Honestly, at the beginning there's few pokemon you should be focusing on and basically ignoring the rest. You'll want one bfs pokemon to focus on, a E4E user to waste your skill seeds on and slowly get ingredient gatherers based on the dishes you can make
>>59202414well I have jiggypuff but the nature isn't very good and I have no skill seeds
>>59202437No, your hunt for a E4E user will be long. You basically need>>59199226 this spread, with helping bonus if possible. Minimum is skill trigger M before 50 and Skill boosting nature. Not too important right now at low level but will be key in getting you big numbers once you have the right team.
>>59202446Meant to link to >>59200296Not the drifbloon
I caught like 30-something Igglybuffs before I finally gave up and ended up getting a Ralts.
>>59202414What makes a good berry finding s poke? Just helping speed? Berry burst?
New salad details are out, "scald" chunky salad, consisting of 20 pumpkins, 30 potatoes, 18 corn and 27 mushrooms. Less ings than bulldoze but around same strength. Also a new ing draw skill was datamined, consisting of potato, corn and pumpkin, no doubt being related to sandshrew and it's ingredient list ala crustle beforehand
>>59203757BFS is generally considered essential for berry specialists. A maximum helping speed berry specialist can compete, but that's not particularly probable.Any BFS without a speed hindering nature is usually "good enough" as not much will stop a berry finder from working well; maximum ingredient finder can be mitigated with sneaky snacking but this means forsaking main skill triggers which may matter for more important skills like Tasty Chance S on Swampert and Weavile.More helping speed is universally good and what BFS berry specialists want the most, with BFS + Helping Bonus considered top tier.>>59204087It's looking concrete that Sandshrew will be the first ground type skill specialist. I hope that they don't rely too heavily on Ingredient Draw S for future additions though. Crustle and Avocado Gratin is a top combo for now, but there will be higher tiers of recipes in the future. Side note, Salads definitely needs an addition like sandwiches. Desserts has drinks and Curries has stews.
Not that I miss most of them, but it's sort of interesting that you sort of progress out of a lot of Pokemon species. I was so used to seeing stacks of Geodudes, Cubones, Wynauts, and Belsprouts, every morning, but now I never see them.>>59204087Sandshrew could very well become the preeminent source of Pumpkins and/or Mushrooms with Ingredient Draw. I imagine it will take a similar role as Spiritomb in terms of ingredients, with the up/down of being easier to capture, but requiring skill seeds. Wonder if it'll be a fast or slow Pokemon.
>>59203757Good will be BFS and no ingredient ups or speed down nature. The ingredient is not a deal breaker but will keep him from being top tier. Fantastic is bfs with speed boosts and potentially skill trigger depending on pokemon skill. Most have bad trigger rates and you won't invest in skills anyway so usually it's just speed boosts you're looking for, but it's nice to have something like swampert triggering a tasty boost on a dish and flying past the ranks early in the week
Guess Sandshrew already has its place reserved in the dex.Wondering where to go for next week too because there are some minor boosts to other Pokemon on top of a guaranteed hungry and set Salads with a 1.5x boost also attached. Probably Amber, because Bagon is actually getting boosted too. Greengrass/Expert have mostly everything, minus Bagon and Stufful.
>>59206197The choices are basically green grass, taupe and ac. AC and Taupe are the same but AC has a few more choices. GG as usual is too diluted
Spawns are rather straightforward.

>tame a pokemon>worst possible nature and skillshow do I stop wasting my biscuits?
>>59208049You just keep rolling and hope for something good. The most you can influence a Pokémon's rolls is enabling or disabling guaranteed gold skills at levels 10 and 25, but only after you've earned a silver befriending badge for that Pokémon. You can do this through the Sleep Dex screen. For most Pokémon, that's friendship level 40, so befriending at least 39 Pokémon.Disabling guaranteed gold is recommended for ingredient specialists, because no gold skills contribute to ingredient gathering capabilities. Would be nice if something like an "Ingredient Finder S" that increased ingredient quantities existed, but it doesn't.For skill specialists, it depends if you're willing to give up Skill Level Up M or not, otherwise disabling gold increases the chances of getting Skill Trigger M and S.For berry specialists, it's better to take the gold chances because you're more likely to get the coveted Berry Finder S and Helping Bonus subskills. This does reduce your odds of rolling for Helping Speed M and S, but BFS/HB take priority.Gold subskills in general are fucked because of the seven available, only two are truly good, and three are arguably bad. Sleep EXP Bonus and Skill Level Up M can be good though.Natures are fucked and the only influence players have is neutralising mints, and only two have been made available so far. They can be used to revoke hindering natures, but there's nothing that lets you give them a beneficial nature.Darkrai and Mew are stuck with neutral natures no matter what. Hopefully a future update gives us actual good mints.Ingredient slots are more fucked because there's zero way to influence or correct them, the majority of species have three ingredients for a possible A/B/C spread. There are a handful of Pokémon that can only gather two kinds of ingredients, such as Croagunk with Oil and Sausages, whilst the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai and Mew have a wider ingredient selection you can randomly roll for.
>>59208467thanks, the main problem is I'm running out of biscuits (F2Pfag)
>>59208576Yeah nothing you can do about not having enough other than going premium lol.Just be strategic with what you're trying to add to your roster.
>>59203757BFS + 1 speed is enough
Somehow end up with Snoozing all week, but there's very little for me to capture on Amber.>>59208576It's a constant struggle, but you just have to mind what you're catching and manage the 30 biscuits you can exchange for each month. Some days you'll just have to be content with catching nothing, but as your own roster expands, you pretty much start checking off Pokemon that you don't need to catch anymore.Next week has an event that guarantees a hungry Pokemon every night, which should save you biscuits (or alternatively bait you into using more). It's a slow game, so it really tests your patience and restraint.
How many sandshrew do you think its possible to get in one week anyway. 15?
>>59209712I wouldn't expect to get 2 Sandshrew spawns a day, not unless they go crazy with it like they did Cutiefly and Ribombee. Expect to see a number of Sandslash as well, especially if you can hit high ranks quickly.Assuming you do get 2 Sandshrew a day though, you still have to deal with limited biscuits to go around.Sandshrew is a 5 pip encounter (Sandslash is 12), you're gonna need a lot of biscuits if you want to do get than one Sandshew, and plenty of luck. It's the end of the month and we just had the Latias event, so it's pretty likely that you may've already used up your supply of great biscuits, if you play premium.
>>59209701the worst thing is when I get the pokemon and it has dogshit nature and skills
>>59209804The worst thing is rolling amazing subskills + nature on an Ingredient specialist but the ing list is fucking ABC.
>>59209804You will get used to the pain. And you'll experience far greater pain, like single-stage evolutions which take 16 pips, and legendaries that take 30 pips. I suppose you can count mythicals too, since it's basically the same thing except it's only a single skill/ingredient slot per 25 pips.
>>59207537I'm going Amber mostly because I still haven't secured a good Bagon.
i thought mawile was only findable in the old gold power plant at master 1, but on bulbapedia they say its gettable at ultra 3now the question remains why is she such an elusive minx
>>59213304It's a fully evolved basic pokemon, they are notoriously hard to pinpoint and find on a consistent basis. I'm around 2.5m strength on taupe and have found a couple of mawiles doing 50/50 slumbering naps. Just a matter of getting your dp up early in the week and hitting the right sleep styles and praying rng does the rest
>>59212210I'm on amber this week to level it up and chase a really great bagon/ noibat. I have some good noibats, but its a big investment so I'm continuing to wait and see.Which is great when I've then barely seeing them this week.
Just got a bfs helping speed munna, is this any good or just not a good mon?
>>59213472Musharna is a decent berry farmer, but not the top of its type. It's a shame but it's only balanced that way because it can get shards. That nature isn't doing it any favors either. It's essential for a good Cressalia team though.
I don’t know what you’re looking for in a drifloon, but this looks pretty great, right?I’m realizing helping bonus is not as strong compared to bfs as I once thought it was but it’s hard to complain about it.
>>59213472Good, the xp down means you have to grind more but it will do it's job.
>>59213965Anything that's relying on its skill for power wants Skill Trigger M + either a skill^ nature or Skill Trigger S at minimum, with the other skills/nature being speed or BFS. The only exception to this seems to be Noivern, which seems to function almost as well with BFS and max speed vs skill triggers. In any case, the ideal roll for any Charge Strength M user (or really most skill types) is STM + HSM + BFS + skill^ nature.Since Pokemon that rely on skill triggers also eat up a lot of Main Skill Seeds, you should be very sure that the one you're investing in is worth it. And along the same lines, you want to make sure it's actually using its skill as often as possible.
>snoozing all week on AmberAt least I got a shitty Kangaskhan? Not a single sighting of a Natu. Even got 2 Dozing days but no Bagons...
>>59215532I got mostly dozing this week, and a lot of Pumpkaboo from it.Nothing worth running though, 8 more and I can turn off guaranteed gold skills at least.
It occurred to me that the new salad recipe wasn't made available this week.Previous times a new recipe is made available, I recall that it's usually mid-week before the event that focuses said new recipe or Pokémon that specialise in the ingredients for it.We already have the details on the "Scald" Chunky Salad through data mining, and although it's the strongest salad yet, it's only by a small margin, and partly because it uses a +61% bonus instead of +78% due to the 20 pumpkins it uses. It's a more efficient recipe as a result, needing only 95 ingredients rather than 105.
>>59216574Starting with valentines this year, they've started locking the new dish to only unlock for players once they themselves have started the event.
well sandshrew details are outingredient list is pumpkin/corn/potato in that orderand it's a skill specialist. so the cooking event pattern has been broken and they are REALLY wanting players to spend money on main skill seeds for these ing draw pokemon
Unfortunately Sandslash's ingredient rate isn't quite as generous, otherwise it almost gets the quantities of an Ingredient specialist.Pumpkins are 1/2/4Corn are -/4/6Potatoes are -/-/7It doesn't quite match up to Crustle's surprisingly decent ingredient capabilities in either raw power or via skill triggers, but the individual ingredients are stronger. Its average also can't quite match a pure ingredient Gourgeist, but it comes pretty close against a small BFS Gourgeist. It's a bit of a rough sell, though if you're willing to invest seeds, it'll probably be your best source of Pumpkins vs getting everything else to level 60.
>>59216996>>59217484hmmm thats a shame, I've got seeds sitting around but is this really what I want to spend them on?In other news, I am enjoying my ingredient mons hitting their skills with few ingredients, my dede not skilling, and my meals not going tasty today.

It's ok to waddle through a week, catch a sandshrew or two, and work towards finding long term pokemon. It takes time and a lot of catches to get reliable mons annoyingly.Make sure you have a full friends list tho, you'll get candies each day from them.

>>59218543ok, so your best option is snowcloak I guess at the moment, but if you find a squirtle with cacao, you can at least make contrary salads with sausage and cacao, which is the OTHER salad I got stuck doing for a good while. But yeah, cooking early game is ROUGH without many good ingredient finders. Do the best you can, but cooking is incredible late game.
>>59218615found squirtle yesterday, he has heckin milk on all slots
Found a Rattata that has 3x golden Helping Bonus, BFS and SKill Level Up M in first 3 slots, is that alright to use early? It has Charge energy S and Careful nature
>>59218685Yes, that's a superb Rattata.Raticate is a go-to berry farmer for normal type berries, and Charge Energy S will help it maintain peak performance.Whilst it's not as strong of a berry farmer as later options, getting that strong of a spread on an early find will help carry you for a long while, and you've got a normal type berry farmer for life.Charge Energy S in particular will help it a lot, whilst you're lacking any Energy for Everyone S healer. How energy works is every 10 minutes, active Pokémon lose 1% of their energy. At every 20% below 100%, their performance degrades and they gather food and trigger main skills less often. The impact of this can be so drastic that running an E4E healer can drastically improve daily results. When you evolve that to Raticate, it'll help Charge Energy S level 2, and occasionally restore 16% energy to itself. That's giving itself nearly 3 hours of extended performance. When it reaches level 50 and its main skill upgrades to level 4, it'll restore 26% for over 4 hours of peak performance. Its nature (Skill chance Up ingredient gathering down) will make it easier to get that main skill. The ingredient gathering penalty is frequently a positive on berry specialists, because it optimises their berry gathering.
>>59218231>Rerolled forgetting salads were a guarantee
>>59219203Ouch
Haven't seen a buff as a bug fix before. They probably have data that the skill basically isn't giving out any triggers at all. I don't think +1 skill help is going to either though.8x helps would probably get you a pretty good chance at an activation, with maybe a dozen almost guaranteeing one for most decent skill Pokemon. I mean I guess it's possible that Togedemaru could continue to chain off itself? Not that that would realistically be an issue.
>>59218664hey, mono milk blastoise is still great. Blastoise is just also a perfect example of a pokemon that is great as an ABB too. >>59219659someone on reddit pointed out how it was triggering wrong, and the fix would be a nerf to an already mediocre pokemon, so I guess they gave it a pity buff too.https://old.reddit.com/r/PokemonSleep/comments/1stdmqz/nuzzle_doesnt_work_as_described_togedemarus_own/
>>59220247Long and short of it is Togedemaru was unintendedly using its own skill activation rate in lieu of whatever Pokemon it triggered on, resulting in a generally higher rate for most Pokemon when its skill proc'd. Togedemaru's trigger rate isn't fantastic mind you, but it's still higher than most by virtue of being a skill specialist. This just corrects the skill to its intended function, though it's still probably underpowered.
I managed to make a Scald salad, but that sort of fucked up my key ingredient stockpiles. It might have been wiser to just wait until the end of the week like usual, but my only Cooking Power Up mon is a Toxtricity with the skill at level 2, so I was just short of enough pot size to actually make Defiant or Apple Acid salads. Pumpkins and Mushrooms in particular are usually hard to gather, but only being 95 total ingredients vs 100+ is helpful, I guess.
Is this a good shrew? I think it is
>>59222041It's good, but I don't think it meets the bar for skill specialist investment.A single Skill Trigger boost won't cut it, even with the speed boosting nature. You have all week to keep scouting them though, this one is worth keeping in the pocket.Remember that the ingredient slots don't matter too much, however due to how high Sandslash's B and C ingredient counts can get, it might need an Inventory Up subskill to help prevent it from sneaky snacking too quickly.
