Nah man, I know it's easy to think this because Diamond and Pearl the games are ass, but the anime was absolutely better than the RSE anime.
Also outside of nostalgia and muh Misty, the GSC era anime was boring by the numbers filler for 75% of the episodes

Eh, I'd rather watch XY or even sun moon than gen 2 or 3 anime

Gen 2/3 seemed where it got REALLY REALLY bad with the team rocket filler formula

>they run into little boy with a yanma
>yanma is sad because he can't play the trumpet
>team rocket overhears and says the want to steal yanma for DA BAWS to fan him off or something
>they have try to steal it but yanma summons up the courage to launch a trumpet blast at team rocket, and pikachu is also there and they go blasting off again.

I even give black/white credit for not falling into this formulaic bullshit. People call that the worst anime, but I at least like how they made team rocket a little less of a joke

The only things Advanced does better than DP is Ash having more personality and the humor being better.
Johto has too much filler which wouldn’t be a problem if most of them weren’t so run of the mill.
