>every single gym leader (except sabrinas busted Alakazam) and trainer is a trivial A masher snoozefest>Until you get to the elite 4 and you are 10-15 levels below lance and blueWhy do people complain about Johtos level curve when this exists?
>good level curve is when levels are a completely meaningless mechanic and everything is the exact same level as you the entire game
>>59139597yeah its actually bad when 90 percent of a game offers no challenge or interactivity whatsoever, shit eater
>>59139582Because KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is immune to criticism so Johto gets all the blame
>>59139607>Johtard doesnt realize Johtos level curving Elite 4 is in KANTOOOOOOOOO
>>59139582You’re describing Diamond and Pearl as well.
>>59139582Wasn't a problem in RBY
>>59139730too bad about the other countless game breaking problems
>>59139759I don't consider a mutual universal 0.5% chance to miss game-breaking
>>59139582What your describing is what makes the Elite Four fun.
>>59139759Like Lance being walled by a Weedle.
>>59139582Because it isn't a problem. The Elite 4 are supposed to be high leveled. Level differences are also factored into damage calculation, and the idea behind the final gauntlet is to get players to strategize against an opponent with an advantage.
>>59139665Which proves his point, idiot.
>>59139840Only if you beat Gyarados and Aerodactyl with something else first
>>59139582>>Until you get to the elite 4 and you are 10-15 levels below lance and blueAnd? >Oh shit, I am 15 levels behind this complete fucker jobber who gets his shit kicked in by a Jynx.
>campaign shitterslmao
>>59139582Your second point solves the firstYou need to use your pokemon smartly to overcome opponents stronger than you for endgame. You don't... you don't, actually grind to the level of the elite 4 before fighting them, right?
>>59141496compmon is a bigger waste of time than the games
>waah the final boss run is hardLol no fucking way you just said that. Get good, kid.
>>59139582You can easily beat Kanto's E4 with a team in its late 40s or early 50s.
Going to hijack this thread. My starter is a Modest Bulbasaur but I can’t decide if I want to use it or a Vileplume. They both seem fun to use on my playthrough.
>>59141858Bulbasaur is thoroughly superior to vileplume. Venusaur > Victreebel > Vileplume.>ModestWhy do you care about natures for your in-game playthrough? Everything has 0 IVs and bad natures, Sabrina's Alakazam is Adamant IIRC
>>59141014No it doesnt dumbfuck
>>59141858Venusaur is the best grass by far (except maybe Exeggutor, but he's late and requires TMs)
>>59139582You probably dont know what is level curve. Also, literally all pokemon games are easy as fuck.
>>59141875>best grassIn terms of stats and movepool 100%But which one has more soul?
>>59141881Bulbasaur>based starter that accompanied you throghout your journeyvs>random shitmon that needs forbidden substances to even attain a fraction of its power (stone evolution).
>>59141858Both are garbage. Grass types are only useful for the first two gyms, after that youre better off with other types.
>>59141951>Grass types are only useful for the first two gymswrong
>>59139730RBY had the worst AI in the whole series so the level curve is irrelevant there, the game is just easy for that reason out of the box. I don't think Alakazams even spam psychic every turn because that would just turn them into necrozma lite if they did
>>59141962>NOOOO my leech seed strats and sun + solar beam combo!!!Right
>>59141893>using a starter in your partyLol>>59141951Typing doesnt matter in normal gameplay. Same as nature. Your party should be composed of what you like.
>>59141987Sleep Powder + Growth means Venusaur sets up on everything and ohkos even quad resists
>>59142010>He actually wastes time setting up in maingame
>>59142050Oh so you’re the type of player to overlevel and spam one move lol. Move along, kid.
>>59142066>He thinks you need to overlevel for maingameKek
>>59142050Yeah I'd rather set up and beat the game with my lv 40s team, thay way I can reliably beat FRLG in 6-7 hours.
>>59139597Yeah the challenge should come from the trainer's team cohesion and skills at battle.Look how challenging Stadium is with rentals, when the teams are all level 100s. How did they make round 1 poke ball cups so much easier than round 2 master ball? Well because the trainers start actually switching out obvious bad matchups and using higher level strategy. There's no reason you should need to do monotonous grinds. As long as you actually challenge every trainer and don't run around them all, you should be at a level where you can win each gym you get to. Incentive of levelling is because if you do actively avoid the trainers along the way then you actually will be too weak and get crushed and have to go back and do what you missed.
