Similarly, a woman using the "masculine" pronoun is rarely considered to be acting like a man, she's much more likely either just kind of a punk or super confident. Watashi is by far the most notable here, since all it really means is you're being polite and professional, if a little stiff. It being the "neutral" pronoun is absolutely not an assertion of neutrality, it is the absence of another signifier. The difference between dislike, and not liking. Something English kinda doesn't like.
