Back when ORAS was new and they had all these teases like this for the battle frontier all over the game, it looked like they were planning to release it in an update or DLC package but in classic Groudon fashion, it was fucking nothing and 2015 came and went silently. I'm still so insulted by this decision, largely because I'm a huge Gen 3 fan. HGSS had everything from Crystal version including the soundtrack they had to painstakingly recreate for DS hardware as well as Sinnoh's Battle Frontier just because and it kicked ass. ORAS had no excuse to skimp on Emerald's content considering the standard its predecessor had set. To use the soundtrack analogy again, early builds of ORAS were using the RSE soundtrack as background music likely for testing purposes. It was already implemented and they cut it out and replaced it with the new soundtrack with no option to return to the original one despite the 3DS being entirely capable of playing the tracks as regular audio files so they wouldn't have to do any reconstruction work like for HGSS. They took the cheap way out and cut corners which is emblematic of how the entirety of ORAS came out. And now we're getting kids who grew up on it saying it's the best thing ever when they have zero perspective on what pokemon was before Gen 6 ruined everything. I have so much burning hatred for this lousy excuse of a game.

Always one step forward to steps back with pedo freak. Also oras doesn’t even have the improved gym leader teams that emerald has. It’s little shit like that which ruins it for me. I don’t see why people herald oras as one of the best games.
>>59146760If you think the gym teams are bad, I've got a 10 page document listing my gripes with the game and it isn't even finished. I might publish it here someday once I'm done but I need to do more research. It's about 1 page for points of praise and the other 9 are flaws I've noticed over the course of many playthroughs. For example, it's not just the Gym Leaders but the regular trainers as well. I used the Winstrates as my example in my document, but I really want to comb through every trainer in the game to get hard numbers. Lemme lay out my findings. You get 3336 Pokedollars for defeating the Winstrates plus Vito in Victory Road in RSE. In ORAS, you get 7152 pokedollars, which is over double the previous amount despite the same group of trainers having 1 less pokemon in the remake. Vito's Swalot also can only hurt the opponent with Sludge Bomb. It otherwise has no held item and knows Spit Up, Swallow and Gastro Acid, so the other 3 moves do no damage either because it's a status move or the move it's dependent on (stockpile) isn't learned so they're rendered unusable. Vito's Darmanitan also knows Belly Drum and Flare Blitz, and his Electrode knows Selfdestruct so his team is comprised of Swalot the Sitting Duck and the other two that kill themselves faster than you can kill them. They also all share a weakness to Ground. His old team was Shiftry, Swellow, Kadabra, and Manectric and all of them could actually fight with multiple different types. This is just one example of ORAS watering things down.
