That leak was confirmed to be fake. Half the mons on that aren't even in the game at all, for them to have their abilities leaked (staraptor included)
Both of those do less damage than a reckless staraptor also. Contrary would at least have a cool niche with close combat but defiant would be a dead weight ability. Mega staraptor would need any sort of offensive ability for it to be better than it's original

In dragonites case at least it has being a special attacker going for it. There's no set up moves for special so keeping multiscale is fine. If it was physical the multiscale would be absolutely pointless since you'd dragon dance in regular to tank the multiscale hit, THEN mega for a better ability. I imagine that's why they lowered it's attack, to show everyone hey use it as a special attacker instead of physical
