Sapphire was my first pokemon game for context.>I thought pic related was a gen 3 mon>I didn’t get dual typing so I thought psychic was super effective against fire due to blaziken >I thought poison damage while walking was the game glitching so I’d reset the game
No offense to you OP but mistaking Skarmory for a gen 3 pokemon is such a common opinion that it's not even a rare take anymore. It's what most people experienced. It's the only thing Skarmory is known for outside of competitive.
I tought mega was cool back when I was a kid. Today tho I realize how much of a complete failure that gimmick is as a whole
I played gen 1 but skipped gen 2 (I was poor) so I thought natu, skarmory, magcargo, etc, were from RSE.
>>59148162>Stupid bullshit you believed when you were a kidpokemon is a good series
>>59148191Skarmory is funny because if you played Gold and had no friends to trade with, you literally would never encounter it once in the game. No trainers use it in Gen 2. Even in Silver/Crystal It's a rare spawn on one optional route, and only at certain times of the day during the latter.Meanwhile in Gen 3 it's fairly common as a midgame opponent, and Steven has one.
>>59148494Doesn't Winona also have one?
>>59148162I thought Shinies had better stats for a long time
>>59148162I also thought Shuckle was Gen 3 because I first saw it in Emerald at the Battle Pike.
>>59148162I didn't know there were physical and special moves so when my pokemon learned a new move, I just always chose the one with the highest power of that type and threw out the old one. I also thought that moves that didn't do damage were stupid because you can just do damage that turn instead. So I never used setups or anything.
>>59148191My first time ever seeing this cutie-patootie was in the XY friend safari. I never encountered one in Unova period.
>>59148191I always knew Skarmory was Gen 2 because it was in the intro in Stadium 2 looking badass
>>59148162lots of people thought skarmory and slugma were gen 3 pokemon because they were so far out of the way in gen 2 that the vast majority of people just didn't encounter one there
>>59148575they start with better stats bc base IVs but yeah, barely noticable
I used to think that shinies were a palette fuckup instead of an intentional rare encounter
>>59148162I didn't know that there was no in game clock for FRLG, so I stubbornly levelled and raised the friendship of several Eevees hoping to get an Umbreon or Espeon, got 2 of them to level 65 before I gave up. Then I traded a hatchling to Emerald and got an Umbreon within an hour of boosting friendship.
>>59150823Friendship has nothing to do with time. Friendship evolution becomes 'unlocked' in FRLG once you obtain the national dex, but that would have been more obvious if you were using Golbat or Chansey.
>>59150843For Eevee, it does. You get Espeon from levelling up with high friendship during the day (12PM to 11:59PM in Gen 3) and Umbreon from doing the same but at night (12AM to 11:59AM in Gen 3)
>>59148162I thought I was the Pikachu in yellow and had to prevent the weird old man from catching it and kept reseting whenever he caught Pikachu, gave up and didn't play a Pokemon game to completion until Gold and then I realized how retarded I was and went back to play Yellow.
>>59148162>>I thought poison damage while walking was the game glitching so I’d reset the gameIt was but it got Mandela’d into a real thing because too many anons remebered it.
>>59148162I always thought everyone knew skarmory was a gen 2 mon because well he apeared in the games and a big part of the games is completing the pokedex so even if you had to look it up you should be aware that he exists
>>59148162i assumed rock types had some kind of double resistance to normal type attacks because they did so little damage.i didn't know it's because of their high defense levels.
>>59151170Nobody played gen 2 which is lucky since it sucked, OP is a common story and skarmory is honorary gen 3 like the Japanese
>>59151155>Nigga learns a new term then proceeds to use it improperly>>59151149I may have felt the same had I not played Final Fantasy 4 prior.
>>59148162For whatever reason, every other time I get the Dream Eater TM, I try to give it to either Butterfree or Exeggcute. Then the next time I play, the reason I thought it worked was because I thought about it before. What a useless TM.
>>59151243Well at least you have a good reason.
