What went wrong? (Serious question because I'm considering buying it)
Off the top of my head>ugly chibi artstyle, your mileage may vary on this but it completely takes the wind out of any would be serious moments in the plot>forced EXP all makes the campaign an actual joke due to not being balanced around it>if that isn't enough then you also get the friendship bonuses which are also extremely broken>zeeeerrooo plat content, so the game has less to do than its DS predecessor >gutted underground and contests>bad remixesIf you're experiencing a gen 4 nostalgia trip then just emulate an older title, this remake is geunine slop and doesn't even have the luxury of having some kinda gimmick like LGPE did. If you want Pokemon for Champions then get SV.

>>59148833>development done by a third party indie company with no past experience, coupled pressure from the deadlines given by Gamefreak, resulting in an unfinished game that even had the music in midi at worst quality than even the originals weeks before release (datamined) aswell as having some facilities "under construction" even on release, such as the Wonder Trading Station. needs a Day 1 patch just to access the postgame and proper OST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSPhh8H29Jg>awful graphics inferior to a Wii game>used the original game's source code, including the core overworld gameplay and its bugs/glitches>new UI glitches led to cloning pokémon aswell as in some cases softlocking the game>Affection mechanic (pic related), made the game easier than even Let's Go! versions by merging it with the happiness mechanic, even with the rematch levels up to lvl88 the Affection stomps the difficulty down to trivial>despite the Affection being implemented in the remake, you can't get Sylveon with it as it isn't in the BDSP national dex (which was its original purpose when it got firstly implemented on XY)>no Battle Frontier, plus the Battler Tower's Multi Battle option has been removed>Stark Mountain doesn't have the lava aesthetic from Platinum>Underground got expanded with Underground wild areas but secret bases got reduced into placing statues just to increase spawn rates of certain types>the level scaling in the Underground wild areas is so atrocious that you could either powerlevel in the underground until your next gym leader aswell as catch fully evolved pokémon (i.e.: Gastrodon) before beating Gardenia>Pokémon Contests got reduced to just doing the 2nd phase of the original (known as just the dancing contest from Gen5)>GTS got replaced by a Wonder Trading Station (WTS), forcing you to use HOME instead>full priced game with no "benefits" the previous remakes had (no new character designs, dex past gen4, no new story, no new map, etc)
