pokemon probably get injured or hurt pretty often, at least pokemon owned by an obvious trainer, and the nurse is probably hoping you trust the pokemon center and return often rather than trying to medicate your own pokemon to some unprofessional degree i guess(but it's not like healing items are much less effective)
