Sometimes you just gotta let the funk out
>>59155405I was at my friends house for a birthday party once, there were about 12 people there. My friend handed me the aux and told me to play something good. I put on this song and about 5 of the 12 people just started vibing immediately. The other 7 said that it was pretty good, so I told them it was from Pokémon. They had the most surprised faces, my friend just shouted “Driftveil City baby!” and then everyone clapped.
They wanted that Lousiana feel
>>59155504I almost believed this was a real story until the end
>>59155405It's got a very solid rhythm and beat and a very active flow that really helps sell the idea that you're in a bustling urban environment where things are happening and people are moving, which makes sense for what is supposed to be a city of trade and travel. I think Gen 5's ost is very good at these sorts of things overall, driftveil just has the most funk so it stands out
>>59155405For me it’s Castelia or Opelucid (Black)
>>59155405This shit slaps so hard
Virbank city theme is such a vibe
>>59156850>what is supposed to be a city of trade and traveldriftveil isnt that though, its sparse and empty. the theme would fit nimbasa or castelia better (though both of those have great themes of their own)
>>59157079for me, it's virbank complex
>>59157261Anon it's a shipping town. Its main landmark is the warehouses where cargo is loaded and unloaded, and it also is a common way of travel out of nimbasa.
>>59158149i thought driftveil was mining, virbank was shipping. been a while since i played so i could be mixing them up though
>>59158149>>59158156*capitalism and mining intensifies*
>>59157261Anon the map description literally calls it a port town. Clay’s entire shtick is being a business man why would he be in a sparse city lol
>>59158212it just feels sparse, physically, is what i meant. compared to castelia or nimbasa or even opelucid it just doesnt give the "big bustling funky city" vibe id associate with the musicalso i see the warehouse now
