I don't know why. Could be the fact that strongman Pokémon don't actually have cool wrestling moves and big powerful punches that take out half of an enemies health bar and send them flying like in action games. Or strongman mons are just not that well designed.

You don't feel for them at all either, the teal mask just makes you learn to love Ogerpon. Not having any appearances in the anime until later this year just to be filler doesn't help either for publicity. Also of course teal mask is DLC so you have to pay to even see it Urshifu, in particular rapid-strike, was at least given new life due to VGC relevance, which Okidogi doesn't have as mentioned. Rapid was the lesser popular of the two (and still sort of is among a lot of furfags who don't follow pokemon) so its nice it got its attention through VGC.
