For example, in Peanuts, Sally is several years younger than the main cast and later grows to Linus's age, but the rest of the cast doesn't age.Long-running series like Detective Conan have had several Christmas specials and the characters don't age (Conan and Ai have an excuse, but the rest of the characters don't). Even Gintama makes fun of this narrative device; I don't know why it's so hard to understand.
