It seems like it has a gameplan but I don't know if it makes sense. You lead Mamo and Altaria and then mega altaria or regular altaria (so you can Earthquake) on spec depending on what you see. If you're afraid Mamo's going to get oneshot by a fire or water move you swap into arachnid who tanks it and sets up sticky web. And then altaria stays as your anchor with its good typing and bulk + ghostea healing it as neededi'm not really sure if my thought process makes sense or what other 2 pokemon to slot in there and why

The payoff isn't worth the use of a move. That's a turn you could have clicked tailwind or trick room or swords dance or something that would have way more impact. In 6v6 hazard layers have a lot of down-the-line payoff because there might be 20+ switches in a match, and even if there aren't, pressure against switching is really impactful because with 6 mons most attacks can be sponged by SOMETHING on the roster.It just doesn't buy much in doubles, not because of the mons in play but because of the small number of average match turns.

why don't they have a draft mode like mtg online. chuck 8 players in a pod and they each open a pack of 10 or so random pokemon and pick one and the next player picks from the remaining 9 before passing it on ect. Make it so each pack of 10 pokemon has a mega evolution like a "rare" pokemon. At the end each player has 10 pokemon and then they make a team of 6 out of them and then battle other players until they lose 3 times or win 7 first and get VP and ticket rewards and get the keep their team or whatever.

>>59164246Well, that's something to keep in mind then. I know the other fastest threats are M-Lopunny, M-Gengar, scarf Garchomp, Dragon Dance Gyarados and I've also seen a few Dragon Dance Dragonite. Gardevoir also runs scarf if it isn't mega but I don't think either are common. Oh, and Sand Stream Excadrill. There's probably other fast threats but I can't think of them at the moment.
