You know you've outgrown Pokemon when you sit there staring at a PC full of cool mons with cool designs and realise it doesn't matter who you put on your team, there is no teambuilding or strategy that makes these mons unique, they're literally just stat sticks with different models.
>>59164539Real-time, skill-based battles will solve this.
>>59164539have you even tried taking it seriously
>>59164539I blame the physical/special split and subsequent "every type gets at least one good physical move and one good special move" design philosophy.
>>59164539I still use shitmons like Flygon in hard hacks because I think they look cool
If they gave more pokemon alternate patterns (like with spinda) or each one minor physical differences and gave a lot of pokemon alternate shinies, it would make your mons feel more unique.

>>59164888i picture aggron to have sunglasses and a Hawaiian jacket
>>59164617That's the thing, Pokemon games fall over like a cardboard stand in a thunderstorm if you even take them the slightest bit seriously. The only time stats actually matter is in comp since the problems presented to you in the base game are not difficult to overcome at all.
>>59164539Pokemon is too easy, frankly. You have so many tools nowadays the game feels like them handing you a machine gun to take of a horde of midly ill tempered goose.
>>59166310> Pokemon games fall over like a cardboard stand in a thunderstorm if you even take them the slightest bit seriously. Honestly, I do tend to enjoy that. After my first playthrough I tend to enjoy beating Pokemon as easily as possible with the least amount of grinding.
>>59166368Hence why competitive and single player challenge runs are so popular. The games are supposed to be easy, so they can be enjoyed by children or people that just want to chill and relax. There are options to make them hard if you want.
>>59166375I somewhat agree but I do still wish the game would put up a bit more of a fight. There is really zero excuse for almost every trainer in the world being a complete jobber with less than 6 Pokemon for instance. I really doubt giving Picknicker Ted more than two Pokemon is going to make the game impossible for kids to beat.
>anon realizes the game for children is infact, for kidshow about that
