It's amazing how much a 3000 point shooter difference in solo mode feels like an average ranked match with sub45% teammates, it's so realistic.

New to the game and i finally get the memes about the microtransactions it feels most of the ui is dedicated to that stuff than the actual game.

Anyway, just been doing practices and solo runs to get a feel for the game, any tips or things before doing an actual game.

Use your permanent level 30 item boosters on something you're going to use on a lot of mons. You only get 3 of these.
Don't level any items over 30 right away, it's expensive for new players and not that impactful.
Item upgraders can be bought with blue tickets. You can blow these tickets on cosmetics, but your combat power will be lagging behind.
Exp share, rocky helmet, assault vest are trap items. Leftovers too, except for some very specific mons/builds, like Sableye.
IIRC this is it for the main noob mistakes that are hard to fix later.

I hate playing as a support and defender. So boring and feel like a slog.

The game has you pick a lane before you start but how much does it matter? Any character can do anywhere. Though my understanding is it’s best for attackers speedsters to start in the “jungle”
Tips on how to allocate the emblems, or does it depend on what I want to main?
Apparently special and physical attack are a thing in this. If a pokemon is special does that mean all its attacks are special or does if depend on the attack they use?
Are three day licenses worth it outside of getting a trial run for Pokémon?

Mamoswine has no natural means of healing, it has no shields, its ability requires it to continuously deal damage to activate and its approaches are all very linear/telegraphed. This makes it very easy for ranged mons to pepper it down if the enemy has no healing support and incredibly easy to bait its cooldowns so it's just stuck there in the middle of your team getting shredded because it's so committal - the absolute best thing you can do against Mamo is make it miss its moves and force it to run like a bitch or go down swinging with nothing but autos.

I would say timer stalling is more common in singles rather than doubles. Only drawed once in doubles (in Ultra Ball). But yeah, Japanese players commonly use anti-meta stall sets in singles. Why? because they're dipshits. And they don't care if they draw and waste time. Their key strategy is to surprise you with a random sub set and make you forfeit because the battle will take 20 mins, it's pretty lame. You just gotta have anti-set up mons/moves on your team to counter them.

Ho-oh was dice, it uses Tickets now. I think it starts at 100 Tickets then goes up by 50 or 100 every subsequent reroll for that dice, I remember being real annoyed cause this was shortly after the level 40 items so I had spent all my tickets on enhancers.

I've noticed recently that as soon as the daily missions reset the match quality dips immediately and it takes so much longer to get into a match. It would make sense if it was people only playing at the reset so they can get their missions in, but it's like the whole day is fine until that hour and everything immediately goes to shit. Was never like this before.
