Today is the day the ZA soundtrack finally releases, making this thread and also asking to see if anyone is posting pictures of what the full package looks like and the tracklists and composer and arranger breakdowns
Tower Records Shibuya already has it in stock, isn’t this so nice to see
And a pic of what part of the inside package looks like!
Another pic of the thing
Neat. One of these days I'll track down and collect every gen's Super Music Collection
>>59180404Good luck with the DS gen soundtracks and I hope you have the money for them lmao
>>59179932This game was sorely lacking in remixes of music from XY. How many were there, like 4?
>>59179932Gee I really love Lumiose Day and Night Music
That music was really good but man it grew grating. Needed like 3 more overworld tunes
It's one of the weakest OST in the whole franchise... Legends Arceus is such a great delight and love letter to gen 4. ZA is really disappointing.
Oh yeah, the tracklist and full composer/arranger credits are out, I’ll post the pics here; here’s Disc 1Highlights and credits:>4. Lumiose City Comp. Shota Kageyama, Junichi Masuda / Arr. Takahiro Eguchi Lots of good work by Supersweep, I find it really interesting how each major group in Lumiose and each promotion match opponent has a Supersweep composer that composed their music and did their battle theme, while a GF composer arranged their general non-battle theme
>>59179932Any newly revealed concept art? Heard they came with a booklet
Here’s Disc 3’s tracklist and credits; interesting highlights:>1 to 4. Team Flare Nouveau, Lysandre Labs, Battle! Lysandre Labs Pokémon, Battle! Lysandre Labs Alpha Pokémon Comp. Minako Adachi / Arr. Lysandre Comp. Minako Adachi, Takahiro Eguchi / Arr. Takahiro Eguchi>28. Battle! Zygarde Complete Comp. Junichi Masuda, Ayako Saso / Arr. Ayako SasoAdachi did the Team Flare and Lysandre Labs music since she did the Team Flare music back in XY, and surprisingly the entire set of endgame music tracks from Lumiose City in Crisis all the way up to the final boss are all arranged by Hiromitsu Maeba, which I think is his most notable pokemon music credit so farThe base game end credits KISEKI arrangement was also the only track on the soundtrack that Kageyama returned for, lol
And Disc 4 tracklist and credits are hereNotable tracks:>6. Hyperspace Lumiose Comp. Minako Adachi, Shota Kageyama, Rei Murayama / Arr. Minako Adachi>7. Battle! Hyperspace Lumiose Pokémon Comp. Rogue Mega Rayquaza Comp. Junichi Masuda, Shinji Hosoe / Arr. Minako Adachi>22 to 25. Lumiose City (Rouge/Bleu/Magenta/Jaune District) Comp. Shota Kageyama, Junichi Masuda / Arr. Carlos Eiene>26 to 30. Battle! Wild Zone Pokémon (version 2/3/4/5/6) Comp. Junichi Masuda / Arr. Carlos Eiene>31 to 35. Battle! Wild Zone Alpha Pokémon (version 2/3/4/5/6) Comp. Junichi Masuda / Arr. Carlos EieneMega Dimension doesn’t really have that much music compared to past DLCs and Supersweep didn’t work ok it either although their compositions are still credited as motifs And there are a lot of variants of the wild battle themes that I’m not sure are fully documented?
>>59180710It barely has anything to do with XY so I guess that's something?
Oh yeah, Disc 5’s tracklist and credits, all tracks on this disc are those reused from previous games, although track 12, Battle! (Primal Reversion) (track 3-14 from the ORAS soundtrack) includes a new ending titled Victory! (Primal Reversion) by Minako Adachi, specially made for Mega Dimension
This soundtrack was pretty forgettable
>>59181412Did they credit the battle themes from the sewers?
Just a reminder that Shinji Hosoe was caught admitting to using AI and got really butthurt when fags called him out on that being gay.
>>59180404BW, HGSS, DP are like $170 eachBW2 is cheaper, and it has Platinum and Emerald music tho
>>59181439Yes, from Disc 2:>17. The Sewers Comp. Minako Adachi / Arr. Minako Adachi>18. Battle! The Sewers Pokémon Comp. Minako Adachi / Arr. Minako Adachi>19. Battle! The Sewers Alpha Pokémon Comp. Minako Adachi / Arr. Minako AdachiAll obviously by Minako Adachi, just like the original Glittering Cave
>>59181560He's right.
No scans or mp3 rips yet?
Also, the bonus keyrings that come with the soundtrack look pretty cool
jesus christ, can't believe this basically confirmed there is no second dlc and we got this mega dimension bullshit
>>59180813>Jacinthe's theme, the most popular song in the game, was written by a different guy than the rest of the OSTHuh.
>>59180793I wonder how much time and work is going into composing vs arranging for these. It's interesting that it's very often not the same person continuing and doing both
>>59181560Shinji Hosoe, I guess he only worked on Z-A? I'm looking through older track lists to see if he's a legend before I talk too much shit on him, but I don't see him. Both Canari and Ivor's themes stood out as being sort of meandering and odd so I'll assume he really did break out AI for much of those. How disappointing. See how that works?
>>59180793>>59180813>>59180842>>59180907>not a single Toby fox trackpokemon is saved
>>59180842>15. Battle! Lumiose City in Crisis>Arr. Hiromitsu MaebaGod damn, that's impressive. He's mostly been doing relatively low-key orchestral cutscene music in the previous games (and did a lot of that style of music in Z-A too), I didn't realize he could deliver such a banger as well. I hope he gets to branch out and compose more varied music in future games.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uUHgnnj7sU
>>59183097Don't worry, he'll be back for Winds & Waves
>>59183097Truly a blessing that he's gone, I don't get how fags like shit, Undertale's tracks were good, but it feels like a once in a lifetime thing, his compositions for Pokemon and Little Town Hero were dogshit.
>>59183024https://vgmdb.net/artist/247Shinji Hosoe is not part of GF, he’s the president and lead composer of the external music company Supersweep and has a huge repertoire, you might recognize his contributions on Ridge Racer and Zero Escape https://vgmdb.net/artist/3135Ayako Saso and Takahiro Eguchi are also members of Supersweep and Ayako Saso usually works with Hosoe on game soundtracks Additionally, Teruo Taniguchi, who did all the Team Star music in SV, is also a member of Supersweep
Any news on if the soundtrack is ripped yet? Usual sites still don’t have it
>>59182778I just checked on Khinsider but nothing comes up. And they ain't gonna upload the soundtracks to Nintendo music anytime soon.
>>59185641The Nintendo Music versions of the Pokemon soundtracks are identical to the CDs down to track lengths, so ZA will be added eventually…. But it’s sad to think that all that credit will vanish once the soundtrack is in Nintendo Music
>>59185641>>59185706I think ZA will be on by the time it hits a year old but it could be earlier. Air Riders took like 4 months.
Musical bump.
I thought Masuda was banned from Game Freak?
