I've been seeing a lot of "Guzzlord is Zygarde" theories and they're all really extreme stretches. No one brings up the more likely "Guzzlord is Muk" these days, which may prove to have more evidence in-game.
Guzzlord is Guzzlord and is not linked to anything else.

Zygarde was supposed to have more content in SM, including fighting Lysandre when RR was part of base SM, and a reveal that it was born in Alola and only migrated to Kalos to tardwrangle Xerneas/Yveltal. Guzzlord was originally planned to be a scripted fight; it was created to be something that would "hunt" Zygarde in its birth nest, Resolution Cave. The Zygarde cube were fragmented parts of Zygarde's nest that triggered its shrinking mechanism like a pokeball, and you were initially planned to bring its cells down to its birthplace to fight Guzzlord on its home turf.

Guzzlord isn't in Z-A. Guzzlord can't Mega Evolve. There is no NPC dialogue hinting at Guzzlord and Zygarde behaving similarly. The link may exist out-of-universe sure, but the fact that you can encounter many Guzzlord but only gather one 100% Zygarde says stuff.
