No matter what the roster is, players won't know what they're getting into because the campaign has never required them to face strategies like this before, and they've never been encouraged to participate in PVP prior since it's always been an optional side hustle. MAYBE they're familiar with weather and synergy buff strategies if they didn't just overlevel and curbstomp Indigo Disk with a bunch of level 100s, but that also hinges on the idea that they bought SV DLC to begin with.

I genuinely prefer this approach of only letting ~200 Pokémon per season, since it allows for a lot of different configurations, removing checks that can let Pokémon who were always disregarded to have a moment of focus.

With the maybe-exception of focus sash, I feel like almost all “consumable” held items should be repurposed into berries. Red card? Make it a berry. Eject button? Make it a berry. Adrenaline orb? Berry. Weakness Policy? Berry. Mental herb berry. White herb berry. Power herb berry. The type gems should have been berries. And so on.

There are a lot of moves and abilities that interact specifically with berries, and it’s a shame that the only ones people really ever ran were
