which third version did it best?
>>
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero - Part 1: The Teal Mask, and Part 2: The Indigo Disk
>>
Definitely not Platinum that dexcutted Glameow.
>>
>>59200375
Yellow & Emerald. Also crystal is kino but niggas cry about it not having mareep.
>>
>>59200375
*enhanced versions
also USUM
>>
>>59200375
yellow is a spinoff, not a third version
>>
>>59200375
platinum feels like the biggest upgrade
crystal and emerald are both decent
yellow sucks and is a downgrade from RB
>>
>>59200375
platinum
>>
>>59200471
>changes the meaning of what I said to say any game she wants
>>59200502
what's the difference?
>>
>>59200375
Emerald. Crystal and Yellow are also both great.
I like Yellow more than Red or Blue, personally.
>>
>>59200375
Platinum = Emerald >= Crystal > Yellow
>>
>>59200375
platinum is the best
>>
>>59200375
None of them
>>
>>59200742
Yellow came after the actual Third Version which we didn't get (Blue). In terms of what Blue was, it was mostly bug fixes and switching around a bit of the version exclusives some more. The Blue version we got was basically Green with a facelift

Yellow makes the most alterations and adds a lot of extra stuff but I feel like it makes the early game the most tedious out of all the Kanto experiences (literally impossible without Mankey/Butterfree) and its benefits kind of aren't really worth that. There isn't enough genuine changes to make the experience the definitive way to play Kanto, unless you REALLY care about getting all the starters, but even that's kinda become uninteresting if you know how to bug the older games to spawn them in, yourself

Dexcutting Glameow to be able to use the Eeveelutions, Rotom, Gliscor, Yanmega, Mamoswine, Gardevoir, Gallade, Froslass the most convenient Houndour in the series before SV and actual Fire+Electric types in the main campaign is 100% worth it
>>
>>59200375
other: pokemon tcg neo

better than dexcutting mareep and disabling half the jap exclusive shit while localizing the game lmfao
>>
>>59201661
Gallade is a shitmon and Eevee is cute but you can just use him in another game.
Dexcutting Glameow and especially Purugly was evil, especially when Team Galactic is still allowed to have them but I am not somehow.
>>
>>59200375
Emerald, and it’s not even close.
>>
>>59200464
when mareep is one of the only usable mons in all johto its a big deal, but it did add more usable ones than it removed
>>
>>59201684
Because they’re bad just like your taste, so it’s ok to ignore both of those things. Good, even
>>
>>59201868
Being able to use Elekid in the main story is cool. Yeah it's a baby but it's not completely useless like most of them.
>>
>>59201902
Ur mom was a pretty bad fuck.
>>
>>59200375
Crystal > Emerald > Platinum > Yellow
>>
Wrecking shit with a lv 5 surfing Pikachu was a fun run
>>
>>59200464
>Yellow
Sounds like retardation but do elaborate regardless
>>
>>59200375
get it, the joke is that Gen 5 and 7 aren’t included despite having third versions of their own because thirdversionfags don’t actually know what they like about their favorite rehashes
>>
>>59202093
this is the only correct answer

I get that third versions were punches in the gut to early buyers who got the two base versions first, but the current model of the base games + shitty DLC isn't that better, because the main games themselves aren't revised and brushed up to be polished into better experiences (like USUM or B2W2)

It's just main game and DLC... and if the main game was clunky and lacking, then that's too bad.

>The Blue version we got was basically Green with a facelift
other way around. We got blue version reverse engineered into red and green and then called green blue version which it technically was which then caused us to call the rival Blue instead of Green and the girl Green instead of Blue.
>>
>>59201868
all johto mons are usable.
>even unown?
yes, even unown.
>>
>>59202325
But Unown ? is not in gen 2.
>>
>>59201913
Oh hey someone else agrees with me. Elekid is a mon that deserves to be more accessible than it actually is. Magmar, Electabuzz and Jynx are all perfectly serviceable for in-game teams

>>59202286
>Reverse engineered
It was just a few flips and switches, dude. They accidentally used Blue's script over RG's when localizing. There wasn't reverse engineering to be done because the only differences in Gen I were mon availability. Us getting the Blue engine was because they already bugfixed the game with Blue and when localizing the game they just preferred to give us games closer to the "original intent" than the third version which doesn't even have all the Pokemon anyway
>>
>>59200375
Emerald is maybe the best Pokemon game ever made with Crystal as a very very close 2nd.
>>
>>59200375
Anyone who says Crystal is legit retarded and was born after 2001, a game that dexcuts 1 of the most beloved Pokemon is not the best.
>>
>>59200375
Crystal

None of the above.

>>59200375
Yellow shouldnt be on this list, as it is a 4th anime shill version.
Japanese Blue is the 3rd version to Japanese Red/Green. The west got Frankensteined gen 1 games instead.
This list is also lacking USUM, which are functionaly 3rd version to SM, but split into two, to make more money.

the international games use Jpn Blue as its base game, but with the version exclusives and encounter tables from red/green.
De facto the west never got the base games, we got two slightly modified versions of blue followed by the 4th gen 1 game, yellow.

>Furry zoophile autists who want to be transformed into animals strike again.
This will never be a good game.
They just reskinned their shitren mystery dungeon but made it even worse.

>>
>>59201652
There is no "Third version" term within Gamefreak. It's called "Upper version" and both Blue and Yellow are upper versions
>>
>>59200742
>what's the difference?
A third version is an enhanced edition of the same game, and in gen 1 that was pokemon blue

a spin-off is a derivation of the original game inspired by something else (in yellow's case, the anime)

All EoS did was add a few extra story missions and a cafe, nowhere near the improvements made in the OP games.
