Gen 5 is not part of the Golden era
>>
>>59202392
Gen 5 and gen 6 had Mystery Dungeon games I enjoyed and gen 5 had Pokémon fire emblem in feudal japan so they are golden era.
But gen 4 was the best. 2 rangers AND the best Mystery Dungeon!
>>
It was gen 7 where they started deleting the Spinoffs like Ranger and Mystery dungeon and going all in on mobile pay to win cashgrab slop.
As for the mainline games, gen 6 is where they started to get easy but gen 6 also had megas which are cool.
Then at gen 8 the series became an actual meme and unplayable garbage I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

Stole it

Based!
>>
>>59202392
Majority of the fanbase would disagree
>>
>>59202418
Gen 5 was the reboot which started the modern era.
>>
>>59202392
The Golden Era a.k.a Pokemania was only gen 1 and gen 2 anon.
>>
>>59202340
XY were worth boughteding just for the online play. there was a big surge of people getting back into Pokemon for that and it was really active fun times.

SM were the first Pokemon games I regretted buying and I haven't bought any since then.
>>
>>59202462
That's gen 3.
>>
>>59202473
>gen 1 and gen 2
>No Mystery Dungeon
>No Ranger
>Only spinoff is fucking pinball or the TCG
>Half of the good designs do not exist yet
>Bugs galore
>Mediocre GB and GBC graphics
>Normie craze instead of niche franchise for gamers
It started getting good with gen 3 with the GBA games.

>2d
>no fairies
>no power-up gimmicks
The only thing that made it a "reboot" was that you couldn't get old Pokémons 'til post-game.

>>
>>59202520
I lived through it and he's right. Pokemania was a shitty consumerist fad. I would much rather go back to the range of actual games (including spinoffs) we had in gens 3-5 than the variety of cheap plastic toys on the shelves in gens 1-2.
The only thing Pokemania did was make it so GF didn't have to actually compete to earn their success, which as time goes on looks more and more like a bad thing.
>>
>boughtened

Sorry, boughted

>M-MUH POKEMANIA
You mean "watching the anime and buying trading cards, except that was the current fad so you were one of the 'cool kids' for it"?
