Mono-Grass is not great in its home region AND its been horribly mishandled balancing-wise for competitive play.Chewtle is hideous and encapsulates everything wrong with modern Pokemon design. Drednaw is okay, but it looks like a second-stage Pokemon. Mightyena and Poochyena are two of my absolute favorites, but Mightyena I think is underlooked and deserves a cross-gen evolution.Sylveon is okay, but trannies hijacked it.GMax Sandaconda is probably the only GMax design I actually quite like. Coiled snake into a tornado is just a really cool concept and they actually executed it well here.Hisuian Zoroark I love, but I keep going back-and-forth in my head between it, Alolan Ninetales, and Galarian Zapdos. Definitely my top three regional designs. On this day I was vibing with Zoroark.Umbreon is the best Eeveelution, no contest.Eevee I would have as a pet, even though I love Poochyena more. Poochyena would eat my furniture and probably bite too often for my liking. Eevee would be more well behaved.Shiny Noibat has the perfect green and black and I hate how Shiny Noivern did not replicate the color scheme 1:1.Ferrothorn is homophobic, apparently, which I appreciate. And I just have always liked the design. Cannot explain why.Bayleef I named my first dog after when I was a kid. I remembered it from Colosseum and saw it in a book I had and thought it looked like a dog, apparently. I was in 2nd grade.And Absol I remember encountering as a kid and thinking to myself "whoa... what is that?" It was a female and it ran away from me, or I failed to catch it. I do not think I found one again as a kid.
Shiny Crobat: Found a shiny Zubat in Ilex Forest on a rerun of Pokemon Gold back in 2015. It's the only shiny I've ever gotten in gen 2.Gallade: I always think of Wally who was my favorite character

One of my first pokemon cards was a shiny Jolteon, shiny eevee appeared while I was hospitalized for Crohn’s in 2016 in Go evolved into Jolteon, still have my OT Jolteon from 2008 Platinum. Jolteon is just a recurring thing for me

Most of these are pretty straightforward.The story with Snorlax is just that I wasn't playing comp when he was relevant, and when I was a kid I never bothered with him during a Kanto playthrough because he was a slow mono-normal type. When Pokemon Unite first came out I found the Flail build where you just run around at high speeds beating the shit out of people to be fun and hilarious. Plus I liked the Snorlax trainer outfit for the girl character. So eventually when revisiting FRLG I decided to give him a shot and surprise-surprise the fat fuck is really good. Now I like him a lot and look forward to seeing what shenanigans people will do in order to try and make him work in modern settings.
soft resetting on emulator for a good nature on mudkip so i could then ev train it from the start of the game and take it all the way through the battle frontier. Wound up finding a shiny with rash nature. Not perfect but not the worst, took it and cleared all golds with him + the usual basic metagross & latios combo. Thank you GRIMACE
