>drops off the face of the earth after one (1) week
what went so absolutely, spectacularly, totally wrong?
>>
>tons of people playing
>active general
>40k viewers on Twitch
>youtubers still getting good views

Pic unrelated
>>
Tatora is unlewdable, genderless and infertile. That's the problem!
>>
>>59215268
>fictional character is "unlewdable"
That just means you're not TRYING hard enough, fuckwad!
>>
>>59215260
How were the concurrent Twitch viewers over these first 2 weeks?
>>
>>59215242
The game is so fucking lackluster
>>
>>59215260
>being hard carried by one Jap with 32k viewers
>>
>call teammates moves out
>doesn't matter cause the game weighted him to win so he hits all his rock slide flinches and scald burns with some crits just to fuck you
>>
>cut a trillion items and mons
>don't include all of the new megas, not even the new shilldog
>all so CHARIZARD FROM KANTO can finally win a worlds
>will inevitably lose to some chucklefuck using mega froslass or something anyway
It would be funny if it wasn't so sad
>>
>>59215242
There's ess than half of all the fully-evolved Pokemon, maybe a third of the total items, they couldn't even be bothered to include all of the ZA megas. They couldn't even include everything shown in trailers or in the menus.
They released it in a barebones state, hoping people would come back with each dribble of new content, not realizing that a shitty launch will just cause people to move on.
>>
>>59215345
there'll be a different ruleset for worlds
>>
>>59215445
Yeah exactly. I’m not gonna wait eagerly with the onions face for them to trickle content. I already moved on from this shit.

I actually think it was kind of retarded of them to do it like this because the current state of zoomers is that their brains got fried by porn and social media so they’re competing for their limited attention with phones and shit. So it’s pretty clear why they’ve already lost and this shit failed spectacularly.

Pokefags really need to play more videogames.
This is the fate of every competitive game that's not a shooter, even then they have a drop from their peaks too. Casuals will ALWAYS get filtered and leave.
>>
>>59215481
It's especially bad for Pokemon because there are no alternate rulesets. Even in other competitive games you can usually play unranked modes that differ slightly and make it more fun for casuals. There is no such thing for Champions. You can't even host custom team sizes in private battles.

I cant believe some faggots are defending this Live Service bullshit, but muh regulations, Foh

It could just be ignorance.
>>
>>59215345
The item cuts are annoying for now, but there are more than enough Pokemon in the current ruleset to make for a balanced regulation. Also Worlds is going to use the M-B ruleset so there will be more Pokemon and presumably more items.
>>
>>59215493
This is how VGC has worked since 2009. The first game introduces a limited Pokemon selection, then each season/year/ruleset adds more back in until a new gen comes out and resets everything back to the base.
>>
>>59215242
The “competitive” game has no competitive build or tutorial features, and requires you to have twenty tabs open in a web browser because the billion dollar gook company does not understand good game design
>>
>>59215565
This
They had an opportunity with the dailies, to make the dailies principles of good strategy that are difficult to tutorialize. Things like, "have a pokemon behind Substitute use Leech Seed" or "have a pokemon use a pivot move after being attacked by an enemy", or "have a slower pokemon act before a faster opponent because of a speed reduction" that are really self evident why they're good strategies after you experience them a few times, but newer players may not consider.
Or maybe have this under the pokemon specific challenges, that iirc are all currently just "Use the pokemon X number of times"

The fact that not a single effort was spent helping new players bridge the gap, and the tutorial outright teaches bad lessons, is a shame. I think I genuinely learned more about competitive from Earl's Pokémon Academy in Pokémon Stadium 2. I think Earl's is the single time I have ever heard a piece of official pokemon media state "Super effective doesn't mean they die, it means they take 2x damage. Using non SE STAB may be a better idea if your SE move is weak, using a Grass move on Steelix, even though it isn't weak to it, is probably better than using a Ground move on it, even though it is weak to it, because Steelix has a billion Defense and like no Special Defense"
>>
>>59215345
I’m more annoyed at how dogshit some of the new megas are. It’s been 12 fucking years how do these chucklefucks still refuse to acknowledge how good megas are created? You might as well not even have brought them back.

tbf, champions has this almost verbatim in its tutorials. i think the mandatory ones you have to clear to even be allowed to play the game
>>
how's the sword and shield boycott going
>>
>>59215565
most people play minecraft with a wiki open
>>
>>59215873
You don’t even need to boycott this ppl just don’t care enough to wait for content to drip feed
>>
>>59215242
Like any game that's focused purely on PVP, the casuals eventually get tired of losing over and over to the autistic sweats who infest every step of the system, so you're left with nothing but sweats and viewers.
>>
>>59215890
I think the actual issue is both the casual and the sweats already got tired of waiting for it to get shit
>>
>>59215902
Western sweats sure, but jap sweats are content and grinding away 24/7 because they HAVE to be active to maintain their place on the rankings.
>>
>>59215242
>Gacha for Pokémon
>Pay real money to adjust values and keep "rentals"
>Dexcut
>Items cut
Showdown exists and is better and free.
>>
>>59215873
Not good seeing everyone back on their knees sucking Game Freak's cock with Champions
>>
>>59215910
>unofficial unpolished slop

Bitch please. I can’t wait for the day Nintendo nukes that site and all you plebs cry
>>
>>59215260
>tons of people playing
It's impossible to tell how many people are active.
>Open Twitch
>8.5k viewers
Why do you lie?
>active general
True, a miracle for this shithole of a board. Still, it's steadily getting slower.
>youtubers still getting good views
You mean people only still just watching Wolfe and all other VGCfags scrapping by 20/30k which is what they used to get already before this game came out anyway.

Game's certainly not dead and will never be so but it's clear the honeymoon and novelty phase is slowly coming to end and it's stabilizing into what'll likely be it's real numbers from now on.
>>
>>59215744
>dailies forcing players to use shitty strategies they may not want to use
wtf is wrong with you? That’s so obviously a terrible idea
>>
>>59216039
>real numbers
We still don't have the mobile release yet
>>
>>59215978
I do not need to gamble for Pokémon and pay real money to adjust IVs, EVs, natures and moves in Showdown.
