>>59219472Personally, the only fun I had with it was playing casually. I think my biggest problem with it is that optimizing your gameplay absolutely sucks but is easy to do, is pushed by the game once you get level 4 and 5 holes, and removes the only fun parts of playing through. A lot of the issues I see, and agree with, are related to how the randomness isn't weighted in the areas you would most hope it would be but is in areas I don't care about as much. The post game is farming points, which isn't too bad, but you have no guarantee to get a worthwhile reward for those points until you hit 5 "bad" (non-legendary) rewards, then it will spit out a legendary pokemon wormhole as the sixth. This doesn't help with stuff like trying to find a specific non-legendary pokemon special wormhole. If they removed the battle zones from the rewards completely or made them as rare as legendaries that would fix my issues, or if they applied the pity roll system for wormholes you haven't seen (such as if you'd never seen a Gimmighoul hole, that would be slotted into the 6th) that would be fine too. That said, you can complete 99% of the dex without special wormholes though you will need to trade for some stuff like Porygon, I think. Most stuff can be found via quests but are shiny locked (Gimmighoul, Meltan, a few others). Off the top of my head, only like half of regionals are locked to a special wormhole. I thought trying to figure out some stuff was fun, but a lot of that is now readily available online so up to you if you just look it up. I forget if every secret mythical/special evo you can get through normal gameplay mon has a quest attached, but most do. That said, the one exception is Zeraora. You will not find it without a guide and pretty sure it only shows up post dlc story.

You reset over donuts with the backup save until you get a sparkling/alpha/size/whatever power you want (level 3 guarantees an instant shiny upon entering the wormhole), rest until the workhole you want shows up, then either reset the wormhole with the backup save until you get a spawn configuration that works, the initial level 3 shiny is what you want, or just run back and forth in the wormhole/abuse fast travel/teleporters. Kind of just comes back to the afk stuff that worked in the main game with better odds and a time limit. Really easy to cheese though. I would say you shouldn’t worry about getting everything you want from a 6 star wormhole because it’ll just show up again. Don’t try to get all three alpha shinies all at once. Really not worth it. Also legendaries can’t be alpha, so don’t worry about that for them.

When a shiny is generated on first entering a wormhole, either by chance or a level 3 donut, you get a mission “catch a shiny” that awards something like 5000 points on the highest level. This is the best way to consistently farm points quickly, so it incentivizes that donut grind/reset which I think is dumb. The other ways to cheese free points are not as bad, but definitely not as fast if you have a shiny you want. Alpha works the same way, so you can double up for more points, giving you even more of a reason to not really play the game and instead just reset for a level 3 shiny, level 3 alpha donut.

For Gen 4 doubles you really can't beat zapdos Garchomp double spread

Can someone explain what this "journey" is that Pokemon players are going on suddenly? Some people are saying it will take them weeks/months to get a shiny Pokemon from early gen (3/4) to modern gen with ribbons and marks. What exactly is it they are trying to do? >>59222669I think the only ones you can do that with are the swords of justice as they’re standard overworld encounters and obey the same rules as strong spawns. I could be wrong and if someone has more info, let me know. That means you can fast reset with a date skip standing where they spawn and if you are running up to them, once they’re generated, they’re locked in as shiny/not shiny once they appear. They also can have marks but fuck looking for that on them only because I hate those things. Also they are unaffected by the shiny charm, I believe. Everything else is a non-overworld special encounter and cannot be saved like that, though I guess you could speed up Regileki/Drago encounters by saving after you input the code for them and resetting back to that.Most of the legendaries are found via Dynamax Adventures which are a whole different thing, you’ll get a tutorial on that when you get there. I love them but I know a few people here hate them. They have 1/300 odds without charm and 1/100 with it. You can reset for them with it, but that costs in game currency and is only worth it if you have a 100% guaranteed line to beat them you want to repeat as that will stay the same. No legendary can be shiny in SV. Everything else can be with a few exceptions like starters and boss pokemon you’ve beaten and now appear in the overworld are locked. Also all Gimmighouls are shiny locked. You can get all but the ‘special’ paradox pokemon (the ones modeled off legendaries) shiny and it’s pretty easy to. Also Ursaluna-Bloodmoon is locked, but that’s a boss so of course it’s locked.

If you care, pretty much every shiny you find in an online raid will have been rng’d by a bot and set to just run on a loop. I care about this and don’t like having them mixed with ones I personally got so I don’t catch them, but if you don’t care, there’s no downside to catching them and they are “legal” or whatever term you want to use.
